Best/Worse/What did I learn...Sleigh workshop

does the dap stay white..have to get it off!!!!!!
I put it under his arm first..thought it was going to turn clear.
Will it wash off with water

Whew! I washed it off..........with warm water and a paper towel........ahhhhhhhhhh

you girls are too cute..not often I relax in the tub, soak to take all the paint and glitter off of me, do my hair while in the company of a roomful of people..lol...no don't let your mind go there..not a pretty sight..thought incase mom calls to meet her in Barrie I should look presentable...

what are they looking like..come one, I've shared, post where you are so I can..oooooo aaaaaa hhhhhh...don't keep me in suspense..what do YOU think of them, do they meet your expectations, know you wouldn't tell me if they didn't..have to pick something easier next time..i.e. VIctorian Santa tomato cage project with velvet gown and beard..lol...today might do you in, might say, never again..lol no you wouldn't if nothing else we got to spend a day together...

Well here is mine..not a good pic of it..looks better in person. I am very happy with it for a first time for this kind of project. I will put a gold ribbon or cord to hang it properly..

OK..Breenie up and already applied Dap, waiting to dry..

In the pic the flash shows where I had put the dap. ..but it doesn't show when it is hanging on the wall.
So what did I learn..
I think I was a little too heavy with the podge..but it looks sort of textured..and I like it..
Podge lasts a long time. I haven't done anything with my podge for years.... apart from having to cut the bottom off..(it is in a glass jar now) it was fine.
A little heavy with the sparkles..didn't use the little ones..might have looked better if I had just used the little ones..I wanted to just highlight Santas trim on his cloak..and the lantern...but a few fell in other places..but still I like it.. :)

Glad I got to use some of my old craft things..The wood plaque was for a garden sign that I never made..I have too many garden trinkets..

I learned what dap is for.LOL...and I may use it on some of my wreaths I have made to touch them up to look like they have snow on them or on pine cones..

I mixed some red paint with dark green to make the burgundy paint...all paints I used were old ones I had..

So Betty...a great success! you are a wonder! Speaking of Wonder..I guess it is a work day for her..will look forward to see others projects.

All dressed up but don't know if I'm going anywhere, can't seem to find that wallet again, should learn how to look after things...know I picked it up yesterday because I forgot it in girlfriends car..then what..check my car..no go..do know I went next door to get supplies at the variety store..ok...ok...found it..under my treasures on the table..can spend money now...interact card was in it..parcelling up the santa's as we speak..keep checking/checking ..watch if you guys don't post AFTER I leave, just to keep me in suspence

Thanks Judy..I am happy you like my project..a little different than the bigger sleighs you all are making..but I am retired now and wanted to use up the things I have already..too much stuff in my basement.

forgot one thing, snow *dap" was a little to white so took some blue and gave light washes to set it back inside the scene...oppps

...Well had to go clean up my house and do some laundry...LOLOL DH had to come out and Bribe to get kitchen clean. Said first one to clean the kitchen...gets 20 bucks! I waited and waited even said hey clean the kitchen...but they all ran, so guess who gets the 20 big ones!

Back from town with a load of greenery..about 8 kinds..did a bit of shopping in Barrie..managed to find another glass humingbird to send off from as a replacement for the one that got broken..geezzz, tried to open the plastic box to I could really secure it, but couldn't so think I'll pack it into a larger box, lots/lost of bubble wrap and see what happens...hope this one makes it in 1 piece...

You were great students today..enjoyed our day..we'll have to do another some time...

Bought chicken and salads for supper so that's easy..will clean up a bit but would rather get up early in the a.m. and do it before I leave for work..I'm ready for all my arrangements but am just too tired..getting everything is half the battle so think I'll so some Mon./Tues. night instead...girls are coming tomorrow so need to tiday up..

Oh Liz..Michaels had the geese..they had them in the Christmas sections..$54.98 then when I was paying at the counter they had them done up in a display for $69.99 but then you could get 40% off..June wouldn't let me buy them..lol..so will have to go back another time....

Well I'm off for awhile..going to relax..put my feet up and enjoy the evening..maybe watch t.v. until I doze off in 5...

For quick display, glass dish, water, some pine,cedar etc. floating candles and cranberries...looks so pretty when lit...will sit in the living room having my coffee enjoying the ambiance..ALL BY MYSELF....LOL
