Hi everyone. Hope you all had a super holiday. My parents left at 4:30am today. They drive. It takes them about 10 hours to get back to Pinehurst, NC.
I can hear the rain and the Blue Jays..

I can't believe it. Rainy and coooold all yesterday, heavy rain and wind advisory last night, and now this morning: 58 degrees, still, perfectly sunny, humidity 89%, barometer 29.46 and rising, visibility 10 miles. Great day for being in the garden.
Guess I'm STILL not used to NE weather!!
I received 1.25" yesterday. Fall has been kind in the rain department.
No winds, Emily? They're up around 25 to 30 MPH now!
56 here.
Hi Anita......glad to hear you are back after the parental visit. Pinehurst.....very nice!! Also glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! The weather where you are sounds fairly mild! Here the temps are supposed to be fairly consistent all week.....80 right now, and a bit more humid than we like....the a/c is on again. I don't recall having it on so much in November before!

It was so windy I didn't stay out long enough to pick the lettuce.
Arlene - did your lettuce survive the cold snap?? Hope so! I posted my mesculin greens for you to enjoy vicariously on one of the threads. Even better if you have some real lettuce to enjoy!
Yes, the lettuce is alive and well. I went out today with thoughts of picking it but it was just too windy. We have several kinds out there so when I get to harvesting it I'll post a photo. We still have Swiss chard, scallions and carrots.
Well, you're way ahead of me, Arlene!!!
