Time for a new start. Today was the first real cold morning - around 28 or so. About 35 right now.

Temp 35.9, Wind SW 0.0, Baro 30.00 S, Rh 72%, Dp 28.1°

Looks like the Temp will stay just above the Dew Point overnight in my area.

34, high of 45 and sunny later. Too dark to know what's out there yet.

27 + dark = cold

28 this morning, should make it to 44-45 today but it will be partly cloudy.

Not so bad here today...38. Didn't freeze last night. And no snow yet...not even a flake! Probably some light rain today, though. We've got some overnight lows in the 40's predicted for this week.

41 and going up to 48 today. Still no frost!

Wow - what's the latest you remember it Pirl? 35 here and overcast. No wind.

Normally it's Nov. 10th for our first frost but some years, like last year, it had to be in December. I've already had one of our own hybridized daylilies blooming on Christmas Day.

The earliest I recall was Nov. 5th and that was a heartbreaker since I hadn't heard the weather report and woke up to see so many dead plants.

I was up early, but didn't get online until now. Yeah! It was COLD here this AM.

brr. sniffle. it is cold. i have a cold. blah. lost lots o'flowers yesterday - marigolds, dahlias, MG. o boy - finally room to plant bulbs.

Steady, moderate rain/ overcast. Typical autumn weather, except it's still a little warm for this time of year in this area.

44 here now but it feels so very cold outside!

It does 'feel' cold but I think it may be the dampness, the humidity is very high.

It's 27 degree's here this morning with a high of 42 expected. Winds out of the North @ 10-20 mph.

The thermometer is reading 31* at almost 7 AM.
The skies are cloudy still, with those clouds that
are thicker in some areas of the sky than in others.

The humidity is as low as it's been all week, at 61%.
The breeze is out of the NE, bringing the cooler
temps.

Today will be the colder of the two days this weekend,
with the high only getting up around 40*. Ugh! It gives
me the shivers just thinking about it.

36 right now..it was 37 when I got up, so I don't like the looks of that! Predicting some rain mixed with wet snow (yuck!). High around 45, low of 30. Supposed to be in the 50's for the next few days, though.

40 with a wind chill factor (how I hate those words!) of 35!

Pixie - what would you say the average snow cover is in your area of Maine?

Wind did a 180° from SW to NE - I'm on the back side of the low now, still overcast here.

Pirl if you mean how many inch's of snow we get annually it would range any where's from 50-80" in my area. I found this when looking for that info, does this help?

The Coastal Division rarely has more than 15 to 20 days annually with one inch or more snowfall. The Northern Interior may have up to 30 days a year with a minimum of one inch. I just read of one area in the Adirondack's that had 466.5" in a year! That's a bit more than I want by 454 inches.

4.0 inches and under is toooooo much! lol

Just got back from a 2 mile walk, a frosty 25 out, but clear skies and bright stars. I love early morning walks, before the sun comes up, or just as it is coming up.

Good grief, debilu. I wish I could be as brave as you and go outside in the early morning hours and take a nice walk, but I am such a ninny when it's chilly.

It's almost 7 AM and here are the stats for the weather in my neighborhood today:

23* - thankfully it did NOT drop into the teens last night!!!
The wind is from the North, causing it to be a cold day,
but it will be very sunny, so it won't feel as cold.

The high temp is supposed to be around 46* today, but
it rarely reaches an expected high, so I am not holding
my breath.

Predicted high today of 48. Then should rise to the mid-50's for at least a few days, which looks like good dahlia diggin' weather (although I did get a few of them up already).
