Some good friends from other forums...

Hear hear!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Amy - our Dave - number 47. THE Dave is certainly not older than me and I wouldn't involve him in our lunacy!

Good luck Kass - I agree with Pirl - you've had good experience on this Forum.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Kassia, good luck and maybe you could use that on your resume? "Nurse for the nuts @ DG, contact person is Victorgardener"

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure she wants to use me as an example though - I'm not getting any better!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

and you are contagious too! Wear a matching mask with your bikini.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Victor, thing is, we don't want you to get any better...no fun ;^)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - I'll consider that a blank check for the future!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Yeah, Amy. He meant me. Victor's been trying to get me into a bikini for a long time now.

I'll go with straight pink. The last time I wore a patterned bikini and people were shocked ;^)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I can picture you in leopard skin, Dave.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Telescope, Pirl??

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I dunno...I picture Victor as more of the one piece type, with fish net stockings and one of those rubber bathing caps, floating on an air raft in the pool and saying, "I dreamed I barged the Nile in my Maidenform".

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

"straight" pink?

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

wow jasper - what an interesting inner life you must have!

(sounds like a cross between rocky horror, those old chanel #5 commercials, and liz taylor as cleopatra!)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

My lettuce survived the frost! ALL of it! I had no idea it could live with the cold weather we've had at night.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

That quote was actually from a REAL TV commercial back in the 60's...I remember my mom being aghast that they would show such "smut'. !

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

wow!
sorry - i take that back about your interesting inner life?
; )

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

So was the famous Wamsutta ad with the Indian walking off in the distance.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Wamsutta ???

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The sheets - Wamsutta.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i remember the one with the indian who really wasn't crying because we were messing up nature.
and i remember the boys in my grade school cutting up the margarine packages so the indian maiden looked like she was holding something other than corn.
but wamsutta i know not.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah - JD - you need more air!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I'd never heard of Wamsutta either...but the Indian Maiden and the corn thing, YES...! LOL Forgot all about that !

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

Pirl. . . I know about Wamsutta.
It's a bond.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sounds like my alma mater - Wassamatta U.

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, THAT is funny.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I remember the Wamsutta ad, you couldn't watch tv in the early 1970's without seeing one of their ads. Top of the line sheets with prices to go with it, highest thread count you could get at top department stores w/o going to imports. - I also remember watching Alan Shepard launch on B&W and Ruby shoot Oswald on live tv! - those were the good ol' days! ☺

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's starting to sound familiar now. We should do a thread on early 70's tv commercials! Remember "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" "You ate it Ralph." I loved the music in those commercials. 'Use Ajax, boom boom, the blue dot cleanser..."

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Let Mikey try it ... he tries everything! / You want it? You got it... Toyota! - at least they were 'nice' commercials.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

True - not like the trash kids are exposed to now.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Maybe we can get Seandor to study the depiction of native americans through advertising.

Choo-Choo Charie was an engineer.....

Brusha, brusha, brusha, with the new Ipana....

Does your shoe have a dog inside? What a funny place for a dog to hide. Does your shoe have a boy there too? A boy & a dog & a foot in a shoe!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

"Plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is" (alka seltzer???)
"Everything's better with BlueBonnet on it".

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

It's time to make the donuts.
It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Mr. Clean
The Jolly Green Giant
Marge and the dishwashing liquid (Joy?) to clean the fingernails. "You're soaking in it".

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Where's the beef?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The lonely and bored Maytag repairman.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

And, who could forget ...
please don't squeeze the Charmin?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes and Mr. Whipple just died.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The Charmin didn't die, thankfully.

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

And it never melts in your hand, thank goodness. (Maybe I should have posted this on the "scatalogical ramblings thread! Sorry!)
