Aww, Connie, now there is your baby! What a handsome little guy
at that! Kisses from all of us to Brutus!

:-)

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

revclaus, that's the thing. i don't have any roses, nor do i care that much about them, but the rose photos are fabulous.

so these categories reflect the whole of DG, not just the individual.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Love that pic of Brutus!

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

DAVE: I just want to tell YOU how wonderful all those pictures are! I could fill a whole room with the ones I loved! It's hard to get down to three. Thanks for doing this. It's the first time I've participated.

Beverly Hills, FL(Zone 8b)

I just got through the countainer judging...and that's the only one that I did so far. All I can say is "WOW" they are beautiful.

Now I must take a break...my bottom is numb!

Knoxville, TN

Great contest - I just finished voting. Good job everyone. Dave, I am amazed at your website overall and thank you...

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

As I was going through all of them, I wished over and over I had a calendar with those pictures in it! But I'd have to have about 543 calendars to get all the ones I loved in them!

Schererville, IN(Zone 5a)

I have to say again, that I am loving looking at all these beautiful pictures.......AND......I WILL NOT BE ON DIAL-UP FOR THIS NEXT YEAR!! LOL......It takes too long....LOLI also agree, it is so hard to pick 3....LOL

Good Luck everyone!!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Tilly, she mabe a pain, but she's cute!

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

has dave said whether we'll be able to find out the photographers' names after the contest? my b'friend is dying to get his hands on some of those photos, and i have a feeling that my favorites won't be the biggest crowd pleasers so it would be fantastic if i could get in touch with the owners & obtain the right to a print.

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

I'm hoping we can contact the owners, too. There are just so many beautiful ones... to frame for gifts...

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I belive he did post and said the names would be available for each photo.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

I, for one, would like to thank Dave for extending the voting period until 11/19. I would never have gotten all done if he had not. Stil have two of the biggest categories left to do.
This being the week before Thanksgiving--we are all cooking and baking and spare time is far and few between.

Thanks a bunch, Dave!................:o)))
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Gita

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Huh? I didn't know the deadline was extended--phew! Yep, thanks, Dave!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

If you look in the past years photos, all the entries have the photographer's DG user names added so yes, you will know.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

The "Daves Garden" Forum is where you can get all the latest updates and whatever shenanigans Dave is up to.
That is where he lets all the membership know what is going on, what is coming or what no longer exists.

Need to check in on it on a regular basis!

Gita

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Will do, thanks, Gita!

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Any winners yet?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Dave started a thread earlier this week saying that voting goes until the 19th. I can't remember if you can still vote on the 19th or if that's the day the winners will be announced--look for the thread he started earlier this week for the exact details.

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks, ecrane!

Hi Dave or Terry
I know Dave mentioned how many members have voted on one of the threads.
Can you update us on how many have voted so far to this date? Seems like there is a really big turnout this year!
Thanks
GGKin

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Also, can we still vote on the 19th, or is that "judgement day"? This stupid dial-up takes up to four minutes to load each full-size image, so I like to use the computers at my college when I can.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

In the other thread Dave said that voting will close on the 19th and the winners will be announced, so if you want to make sure you get your votes in, I'd probably get it done this weekend. Or very early in the morning on the 19th before Dave gets up!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL, thanks, ecrane3!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Somebody pass the asprin please. I have a headach from spending so many hours on here looking at pics and getting my judging done, but it worth it.

So many folks have taken some beautiful pics and others have opened up the eyes to new and exiting scenes and visions from all aroudn the world.

Good luck to all who entered and thankyou for sharing your pics.

Robertstown, Australia(Zone 10a)

I made it, I'm Done! Phew - what a job! So many fabulous photos! Dave's Garden ROCKS!

I just got the last two categories done yesterday. Major congratulations to everyone who entered. I'm really scared about next year - if the number of entries doubles again, I'll NEVER get through them all. Pets and Domestic Animals was really hard, so many lovely critters!

I'm off to rest my brain now, LOL, Kaelkitty.

Lithia, FL(Zone 9a)

I am glad my husband went hunting for the weekend. I spent ALL day today viewing each and every one of the wonderful pictures that were submitted. I am impressed at the quality, context and pride shown in each photo entered. Thank you DG members for the fun I had today, and I didn't have to leave my house.

LOL, that's a winner, too! Love the facial expression. "Go use the kitchen sink, and leave me alone!"

-South Central-, IL(Zone 6a)

taztux, that is one filled up sink! He's beautiful.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

The time is up...does anyone know where the winners are posted?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

There is also a link on your home page plus in Dave's Garden Forum.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Tirna, I know how you feel. I'm on dial-up, too. :-(

Alamogordo, NM(Zone 7b)

If there are even more next year, maybe Dave could have a guest judge (pro photographer?) cull through all the entries and pick 10 in each category for us to vote on? I would love to get to see them all, just a thought on how the judging could change to accomodate more entries.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Cactus, not to shun your thoughts, but sharing my own with regard
to a professional judging the images.

Many members take pictures of wonderful things they see around
the house and garden. Once we bring in a professional, the special
things will be nit-picked for clarity, balance of light and all sorts of
things many of us find trivial in common pictures. Not everyone has
a good camera, but still want to share what they see with all of us.

I see this in the Plant Files already. Someone will share a photo,
sure, it may not be top notch quality, but something they shared, and
yet people have actually taken the time to post negative comments
about the picture. While I've had it happen to me and found it to be
nothing short of rude, I was not hurt, just disgusted that someone
would take the time to pick apart another member's contribution.

Having one individual also allows for questions, whereas if all of us
are voting, it is indeed a fair and impartial event.

I love the way DG members are able to take part in something
wonderful like this and would be sad to see it in the hands of someone
outside of the community.
