Beautiful pictures everyone. I'm lurking. Been a little busy here, too. Just found two new cousins in New Zealand! We're doing the genealogy happy dance. lol Smoke is gone and this time of year the plants are enjoying and thriving on a little benign neglect. DH is almost done with the veranda. We're going to become "the old couple that sits on their porch at the bottom of the road." :-)
Kathleen
Let's get together
Kathleen, so happy to hear that you were not one of the folks who suffered such loses during the fires.
What fun to find cousins! What made you think you had long lost relatives, and how did you go about finding them?
I have cousins all over the world! My mother is first gen from Irish parents and lots of what we call collateral relations (not direct ancestors) left Ireland for NZ, Australia, Canada, South Africa. I have a 2nd cousin in Florida that researches with me - we've been at it for years; a lady spotted our family tree on the Internet and wrote to him.
The fun thing is, I had been in contact with a guy in NZ six years ago and he turned out to be this lady's cousin - they live less than 10km from each other! So, we gained two cousins we didn't know about, and they got their families back together. I just love it when that happens! Without getting too technical, we are related through our great great grandparents. Such interesting lives they led and now we get to learn about them. Whoo-hoo!
I found one lady in Canada who has to be a cousin - though we haven't found the link yet - she and I and our mothers are almost twins. :-)
kaperc, that is so neat. Do many of your cousins share the gardening gene?
Cathy
Yes, I've shared some epies and cacti with my cuz in Florida. We usually tend to talk about families and such, though.
I don't actually have the gene, you know, I just pretend. :-)
Good answer!
Hi everyone!!! O how I have missed you! Been swamped busy! Kathleen how cool is that???? You know, Carol is in New Zealand - you should have her look up your cousins and give a long distance hug by proxy!
We're still sending pictures back and forth. Her ggparents were bee keepers!
You always have the best ideas. AAAWWWW.
Welcome back Sylvain! Great pics...LOVE the sail boat...gorgeous!
Love the sailboat too!!
I would be very happy on that sailboat especially with that gorgeous sunset!
Hi, everyone.
I've been working on my pictures from Butterfly World. We were there again on Saturday. Membership does have its advantages.
From their passionflower collection, here's Byron's Beauty. I wanted to purchase that one but they were not in stock so I ordered it. I can't wait until it gets here.
Sylvain.
You're not on an allowance, Sylvain. Post away.
LouC
I'm afraid to bother people with all my pictures. Plus, I like to make the pleasure last. If I post all of them the same day, there's nothing for tomorrow.
Sylvain.
Wow! These are some incredible pictures. The brown Hummingbird is beautiful!
Keep posting them please, I have been watching for more every day.
I agree with everyone that your pictures are fantastic...love the hummer! But I know what you mean...that's why the underwater gardens lasted so long.
Keep posting away!! Am loving the pics!!
Neat shot!!
Looks like a true jungle. lol. Most trees are just about bare around here. Leaves on the ground and now just have to wait for the first snow. Hopefully no ice.
Oh Randy, the coral against sky is so beautiful! I soooo look forward to seeing it myself soon!
That's right, looks like nice weather in the forecast too!
Lovely pictures from you both. I really enjoy seeing everyone else's worlds!
Sylvain, have you posted any of these on the butterfly forum? Not sure if that is exactly what it is titled. They would love it too. Don't mean for you to leave us, just a double post.
I would definitely like to see them twice!!!! What beautiful pictures of gorgeous butterlies, thanks for posting them.
Always amazed at the wonders of His creations. The under the sea thread took me to a whole 'nuther plane. And the butterflies that are fluttering everywhere so freely for all to enjoy. Takes my breathe away.
And finally for today, here is a touritsy picture of me standing by the southernmost point in the U. S. in Key West, 90 miles from Cuba.
Gosh, how I hate touristy pictures. We actually had to line up for the chance to be photographed standing by a concrete monstrosity painted in garish colours. The things we do...
Sylvain.

ah...I have that same touristy picture!
for the butterflies, that last one posted looks like one that would be attracted to ripe fruit. Do you ever leave over ripe fruit out to attract some kinds of butterflies. I love seeing those butterfly pictures.
Here is the latest orchid blooming. I have no idea what it is either...I've been going through the orchid forum to find out, but no luck yet. There are so many it's unbelievable. They are so expensive that I'm glad I haven't been to caught up in them...yet..
