OK, kids. Here we are. We can't let this forum die. I have never enjoyed anything as much in my entire life. The under the sea was great and Shari has worked really hard. Sylvain, where are you?
Maybe if everyone downloaded Bradduh IZ and played it simoultaneously you could get in the mood.
I'm still a landlocked islander. Jenny and Carol are two of the real thing. Can't let them down, now can we? Let's keep it going, even if all we have to say is what we had for breakfast or lunch. My beautiful tropics are beginning to droop. This is middle of Texas after all. OK , Randy, you have duplicated the tropics in Houston. Texas77, where are you? And Don, do you think that just because you have put everything in the greenhouses you are off the hook? Come on, Janet, your humour is needed here. Remember, I am the cheerleader (wooo, what a joke) and I'm depending on all of you keep my need for the islands and the tropics going. Please. Carriblue, John, must be mad at me or he would get with it. Come on, John. We miss you. I'm not usually a begger but this important. Chrissy, are you gonna stay down under? Chatter, chatter,chatter,chatter,chatter....LouC
Let's get together
Thank you, Dutch. You photo is great. So clear. Afraid I'm just the chattererer. Don't have photos of the tropics. Just love them.
LouC
No one is gonna let this forum die, darlin....we are all just busy at the moment I guess...'sides, if I don't get all my work done, I won't be able to come visit you! I wouldn't worry...we are all much to chatty and friendly to stay away for long. Carol's in NZ...all the TX folk are recovering from RU...patience Kilikina...we shall return.
I'm here Christi! Just been a little under the weather for longer than I would have liked! Starting to feel a little better!
We had an absolutely beautiful day out there...so cool, nice breeze, just gorgeous! You couldn't have asked for a better day!
Here's a beautiful tropical bouquet for you, from a couple of years ago, but still pretty!
Jeanne
Been busy also. Things are slowing down some but not alot around here. Plus when Dancing with the Stars is on I can't be on here otherwise I will miss something. lol. Love that show.
Oh me too, Pepper. I was surprised at this weeks ending but he really wasn't one of my favorites.
So sorry you have not been feeling well, Jeane. The hibiscus are beautiful.
I know everyone's busy and I have been too. Just get lonesome for you. This is like another family.
Good vibes for everybody today.
Kilikina
Hugs and hugs from Down Under ...been so very busy ...have you forgotten what Spring is like ...mulch ...manure ...weeds ...much sighing over the beauty and perfume!.Lots of visitors, daylight saving to get used to ...our Government Election just around the corner ...must listen to everything going on, it's so important to make the right choice about who will lead our Country. It does not get dark until after 8 at night now so the day is long and the night is short. I think of you all, some jetting around the place, LouC catching up with fellow garden friends ,77 has not been so well (sending hugs) Shari ...with all that cooking to do,Pepper getting up to some fun as usual, our wonderful TM with his greenhouse/penthouse crammed full of his beloved plants ...our amazing underwater picture posters that allow us to explore such beauty and serenity and calm, a truly blessed talent! and great gift to us thankyou so much :)
At the moment we are on the rim of a blazing Summer and after watching the awful fires over there we are preparing ourselves.
Hope you are all enjoying your Halloween ...did I ever mention
that we are only about 10 miles from the town that celebrates a ghost who haunts a convict built bridge? We don't really do the Halloween thing much although it does seem to be gaining some momentum ...no we have a ghost festival ha ha ha.
So have a good one everyone! ((((((BOO!))))))) *laughing*
chrissy (ps) picture of baby "Buddah's Hands"
Top of the mornin' to all. Glad to see everyone is around, I'm with Christi - I miss you guys!
We miss being here! Got to run errands this afternoon. Then will be over at Mom's this evening. Y'all have a good day!
Sorry! I haven't abandoned you! I have been caught up in a couple other forums that have been holding my imagination captive.
I am all excited right now about my very first hot compost pile :~) What fun it is to watch the steam rise off of it and know that by spring I should have about 3 cubic yards of wonderful compost for absolutely free. Most people use compost to amend their soil, but I am making compost so I won't have to buy so much soil to amend my compost into a good plant mix for my new raised bed.
We had our last warm weather and the drizzle has begun so winter rains should be upon us soon but they are saying sunshine for the next 4-5 days. That would be nice but I doubt the fog will stay away long enough for it to really warm up much. I will probably go into hibernation mode soon. Seems like spring and summer I only sleep about 5 hours a night and then come late fall and winter I sleep 8-9 hours.
Well, the clock says I have to get going and make it to work. Have a great day!
Hey Zany, that is exactly what we are made to do. Hibernate in the winter so we have the energy to do all that is required in spring and summer. We don't have enough cold days here in my neck of the woods. Sometimes I long for a regular winter so I can curl up with a good book. I so want a compost pile, and a greenhouse. We have just enough cold nights to freeze my tropicals. Have already brought many inside the house and we look like a jungle. Problem is, they don't thrive and usually look half dead all winter. Air is too dry.

We walk on the beach every day...weather is glorious in the 60's and 70's. The Charity Shops full of GREAT clothes for about 1$...just too much fun! Today we are going to the 'cinema' to see "La Vie en Rose" about Edith Piaf the French singer...wonderful cinema here!!!

Hugs to you all....
Carol
On this thread there is no hi-jack. Whatever crosses your minds is fair game. Thanks for the lovely pictures, Sylvain. I know Shari will love them. She is big into orchids, you know.
She wrote and article that made them sound easy but I have always thought they would require more intelligence than I have. hahahaha Glad you had a good time. What's next? We're ready.
I'm watching my wonderland turn brown and go dormant. That time of year. And Chrissy is just coming alive. uh, Better said, her garden is coming alive. Don't think she ever winds down. (that's a compliment, Chrissy). Wish I had half the energy.
LouC
Cross-posted, Carol. Sounds like your living life to the fullest. Way to go, girl. After a "certain age" that is all that is important. Maybe at any age for that matter.
LouC
No such thing as highjacking in this lovely tropical place we "share"
Beautiful orchids!
Gotta go plant some new babies I received in the mail ...:)
PS I am very excited I have Angels seed pods on my angels and I sing to them every day I feel like a doctor who performed artificial insemination! learned it all over in the Angels forum ...back later
What horror Sylvain? I saw a pumpking that looked like YOU! How Fun!!!!!
Beautiful orchids!
Yokwe everyone!
You found it. That horrible pumpkin with an evil pattern on it! Can you imagine growing anything like that? Thank Him above that these things only happen in PhotoShop's virtual world.
I have just finished processing a bunch of butterflies from Fort Lauderdale's Butterfly World. I'll post them tomorrow.
Take care, all.
Sylvain.
Edited because I had written ... butters... instead of butterflies. I must have been thinking about South Park's character Butters. Sorry about that.

Lovely pics ! The orchids, pumpkin!, Gail and the butterflies all gorgeous! That blue winged butterfly on the orange flower is especially lovely. Gail has the same happy, smiling face you have, I think you both enjoy life to the fullest. Thanks for posting.
Aloha!

Funny...we are off to the Rhodie Festival in New Plymouth!!!! today!
The tropical ones, Vireyas, are super...and there are madly fragrant ones as well!!!!!

I love visiting Butterfly Gardens...been to many, in various parts of the world, and they are always beautiful with little children and big eyes trying to follow the flying beauty...great pictures!
Love butterflies! Great pictures!
Well there ya all are! Lou C...it takes me a while...but sooner or later, I notice the old threads are all but vacated, and the kids are at the new "in" thread...LOL...
I've been pretty busy, working over time on one of the weekend days, had relatives in last weekend, and then, over the past few months I've met some really nice local gardeners, and we've been getting together alot on Sundays, having BBQ's, giving each other a choice plant or two..and just having a good time. It's really stimulating being able to visit one anothers gardens. Everyone of us have brought back new ideas to their garden by visiting each other.
Sylvain, awsome butterflies! Reminds me of some of the colorful guys we saw in W. Africa.
Heres a poison arrow flower. Hmmm...I wonder how Butterflies would go about this flower?
Rj
Great, Randy. Sounds like you are living the good life. Can't complain about that.
LouC
Yes, and even a little better on the 14th! tick tock tick
I'm gettin' excited.
The yellow butterflies are everywhere in my yard today. Sulphurs?
Enjoy the flutters!! We don't have very many now that the cold is really starting to set in. In fact we don't even have birds. Normally our feeders are just covered in birds up here but no one has birds yet. Don't know if that is good or bad. lol
