Mine are still blooming, have had these particular SD for 3 years running. I just let them go to seed and leave the rest to Mother Nature. Every spring those seeds give me new plants, best $2.50 I ever spent for an "annual".
Show us your Bloomers #2
That's so good to know, Celeste.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Wow Celeste, which ones are yours? (Scrolling up, back soon.)
OK, Celeste, I want to see the self-seeding snaps snaps! (Snapshots of snapdragons.) Pleeeease? xx, carrie
The one on the lower left - do you know what it's called? Does it come back like that every year? (Same colors, I mean.) Could you save some seeds, or is it too late? xxxxxxx, Carrie (Your bestest friend ever.)
It was called a 'Tahiti Mix' when I bought it. It's too late for me to get seeds now as they are soaked from 2 days worth of rain/snow and now heavy winds. I bought them as a 6 packed for $2.49 as my local hardware store.
Edited to say: I always thought they were an annual but i found this saying they are hardy to z4.

Speaking of snapdragons - I bought some hot pink ones from HD. They are pretty tall with blooms at the top of a single stem. In other words, leggy with blooms. Should I snip off the blooms so that they will bush out? If so, snip about a third of the stem? i.e.....help, please!
Wow, Pixie, I always thought they were just annual annuals, you know, ordinary die dead annuals. Sounds like they're at least possibly reseeding. My grandmother used to have a fabulous garden at her house in Maine. Now I'm wondering if some of what I thought were a lot of bedding plants might have been self-seeding annuals. Of course, I didn't wonder anything at the time, just in retrospect.
x, C
I once had some absolutely gorgeous velvetly deep red snaps that reseeded. I miss them.
What's growing here is our annual flock of Canada geese. They gather and gather, resting until it's time to leave. I think they're sorting out who the leader is. Much honking. This year they have been joined by what I think are 4 Greater White-fronted geese. Probably be leaving any day now...it's pretty late. The warm autumn has probably held them up. There are about 300 of them on the tiny lake in our subdivision.
these are some of my favs....
even though this one fell over in full bloom... the ver. foliage is beautiful

I did save the seeds from my dwarf size... but no red
:(
Aw, thanks Allison, you're sweet. It's ok. I'll get some. I tried wintersowing some snaps last year and they didn't germinate. I'll get some going in the house next spring.
btw, yours was very pretty. I kind of like the short ones, too, though.
wow what are you in a heat zone anita?
no - pretty amazing, huh?
Very amazing!
Anita...very neat
i still have strawflowers and snapdragons blooming - and some dianthus - but that is it. no pictures - i am too cold.
i also have my fabulous silver lace going strong. i wish it would STOP so i could put some bulbs there - i like it too much to pull it out!
I agree Amy - too cold for my fingers to take pictures or to hang around watching the hardiest annuals not die. OH, btw, it happened to me when I brought my newborn daughter to the pediatrician - I was 30 - and he was younger than I was! I know, I'm on the wrong thread. I'm lost - I'm old, please take pity. xx, Carrie
My geranium (Roxanne) is the only thing I have still blooming.
So is my G. 'Rozanne'! I would have preferred Roxanne.
Oh, that is really pretty, Victor! Amazing that your rose is still going strong! It's such a pretty color!
Very pretty rose,Victor.
Yum, beautiful color, V.
Thanks all.
what a great shot Victor.... my tea rose is putting out some blooms today
Thanks Allison. Have you had a frost yet?
There's absolutely nothing blooming in my garden, so I am very jealous!!
I am so happy to see that you guys still have blooms to enjoy.
a few light frosts.... just enough to coat my car windows and zap out the tender plants... woke up to about an inch of snow this morning.... kind of taken back... it's early for us
Candyce, maybe that's due to the name change! Of course, I would never knock Monadnock.
Pix, with that awful cold you've had it still kicked open that last bud? amazing! (I was going to say I'd look for that one, but I'm half afraid you'll divide it and send it LOL and I really am KIDDING)
Jan,
The flower is in a pot inside the house.....nothing is blooming outside now! As for dividing it.....hmmm. I actually have one outside in the ground, this one was budding and I was afraid to move it so I left it in the pot. Now it's done blooming but to late to plant it outside. If it makes it through the winter, I will indeed have enough to share! (grin)
