Show us your Bloomers #2

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

I didn't think I'd have any more bloomers to show but I found this English violet blooming right through the snow yesterday.

Bebop - those shots of the violet and the Johnny are amazing. What guts those little guys have!!! :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Those are great snow shots! Poor little plants, thats what I call a fighter!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Louise, you must feel so fulfilled to be able to garden year-round in both locations! But do you have any time to do anything else?

Wow, Allison.......you really got snow!! I like that shot of your Easter Egg plants! Very cool!

Sue - Yes, I am really enjoying being able to do a garden down here. I still have lots of time to do other things, since I have a relatively small area for my veggies and herbs, and most of the other plants pretty much just need some watering first thing in the morning. At most I spend until mid-morning puttering around with gardening. After that, it gets a bit too sunny for me. Today I planted my white luna hibiscus seeds....can't wait to see what happens with them!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

It "snowed" today. I picked up the thing that could have been a weed trailing out of where my climbing roses are planted, and wouldn't you know it, but it was a rose with a clematis twisted around it, BOTH blooming. Too dark for a picture, but UNBELIEVABLE! (Said ala Wally Shawm in the Princess Bride.) (NO, that was INCONCEIVABLE!)

There was snow in NY, NJ, & MA?? Nothing in CT.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Oh yeah! It is G. Rozanne. Duh!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Jeez - look at all that snow - I'm snowblind!

Nice rose pic Victor.

Great snow shots from yesterday!
We got our snow today. Would you believe that the town actually plowed the roads?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

No need for a plow here, but it absolutely snowed. Pretty on the branches of the round tree that we carved out. It gets dark so early - too dark to take a picture! Here's an old one. Take out the plants under the tree and take off the leaves and add a little snow.

Awesome, Carrie. I've always loved theatre of the mind

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Victor, that rose shot is amazing. You could make a beautiful card with that one.
Snow.....brrr...thank goodness none of it fell here.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Anita.

These are the last of the blooms in my garden, I think. One brave day lily is still trying to bloom. Pretty soon only our dear dogs will brighten the garden until those early blooms appear in Feb. I hope everyone enjoys T-day. Patti

Patti:

Great colors still are there for you to enjoy. You are so lucky.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Lucky You, Patti! Very nice.........and love your pups!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

great shots patti.... hope everyone had a good turkey day!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Nice Patti.

I was going to take a pic of the last flowers to open - a scabiosa, but the rabbits had them for Thanksgiving breakfast I guess.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

so nice to share Al

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

You still had scabiosa blooming? My goodness! That's quite an accomplishment.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

It would have bloomed earlier, but the rabbits kept it chewed down all year(except for that month when they forgot it was there)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Still ~ quite amazing. Mine finished blooming in August. Maybe it died? Next year will tell.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I have one lonely burgandy blanket flower (real name is like gallardia but I probably spelled it incorrectly). Some Lavender David phlox was still blooming yesterday - until I cut it down. Still have a few Dianthus Helen blooming and some viola and pansies. Oh - and Tournament of Roses has blossoms - but tonight the temperatures are going down to 16 degrees - so I doubt any blooms will survive that!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i have snapdragons and strawflowers that just won't give up! some dianthus and verbena too. and i even had gazanias trying their hardest to bloom yesterday before the rain.
i need the space for bulbs, darn it!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Love to look at the blooms this late in the fall!! Beautiful!! Eleanor

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Looking is wishing, and wishing is dreaming, and dreaming is planning, and planning is budgeting, and budgeting is getting everything we want for our garden ~ next year!

Don't ya think?
You all have some very nice 'late bloomers'!!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Louise. they're beautiful!

Candy, I like that :0)
