Night everybody....~Brenda

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

darn it...........haven't had the last 5 calls.............(I think)...................

Hi everyone! :o) I'm back, so watch out! LOL Still catching up on housework and such, and have decided to do a nice fall deep-cleaning while I'm at it. It's amazing how much dust has collected in this house. It almost certainly has something to do with the drought we've had this summer. Everything was so dry and dusty and I guess that dust gets in the house.

I'm watching the bingo calls, as I'm close to bingo. ;o) Has anyone gotten it yet? The last few threads were so long I haven't taken the time to read through them yet. Looks like everyone has had so much fun, as usual, though! :o) Sorry I missed all the chatting and fun. :o(

Brenda, those little Sinns look so happy! :o) Are they not simply adorable little plants?

Drumheller, Alberta, Canada(Zone 3a)

I still have 4 to go yet...isn't that how many calls are left?
Dawna

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Amy!! Good to see you back..Now just don't go cleaning like a mad woman and get yourself back in the same boat again! LOL Pace Yourself!! oh my gosh I had hubby pull out the sofa for me last week and biggest dustbunnies I have ever seen...good thing no one looks under there when they come visit! I agree the dry dusty summer definitely played a role in the large amount of dust that accumulates around here too...

OOO I am getting closer too.I can't believe there is no winner..yet

Edited to add..Dawna..I think there are 5 calls left instead of 4.? Not really sure..At any rate it looks like you are on the fast track for that awesome biggest loser prize : )

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

have to go back and find the sinningias........missed out on Brendas..........

Thanks, Nancy! :o) I'll recruit the kids to help me with cleaning. They'll hate it, but they hate hearing me nag more. LOL I'm the nag-you-til-you'll-do-whatever-you-have-to-do-to-get-me-to-hush champion! ;o)

Hi Dawna!! I haven't seen you in ages!! :o)

Gail, the Sinns are the first pic in this thread.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

thanks Rain.

(Zone 1)

Good Morning Ladies!

This game is getting close to being over with only 5 calls left to go! I still need 4 of them, so I think a lot of us are in the same boat. It's always right down to the wire with a lot needing the exact same one or two, isn't it? I have a feeling someone might bingo later today! I wonder if we will get all six winners right away or if it will be spaced out? Gonna be fun to watch and see!

Welcome Back Amy! Glad you are up and about and able to move again ... just be careful with all that cleaning and don't pull any muscles! You could just be supervisor and let the kids do it all, LOL. Right, like that would work, huh? Wish I had a housekeeper sometimes. The older I get the worse I am. You would not believe how much I used to me a neat freak if you could see my house the past few years! I just can't seem to find the energy anymore to do inside cleaning ... I'd rather be out on my deck or in the yard playing in the dirt.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Amy good to see you have come back.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Only five left and I only need 4 go figure. How do I do that?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm spoiled by having somebody come twice a month to scrub floors and countertops... saves us from total chaos by making me "pick up" to clear those surfaces... after all, if she can't see it, she can't clean it!

I'd rather be out playing in the dirt, too.

Hope everybody's having a fun morning!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I would think I was in heaven if someone cleaned my floors for me.

(Zone 1)

You and me both Makshi! I would love to have someone come in just once a month and do a thorough cleaning! Maybe it would make me feel so guilty that I would be a bit neater! LOL. (but I doubt it)

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

I want the toilets cleaned, all the bending and contorting to make sure they're done right, hate those things! My mom has always had someone that came by a couple of times a month and did the deeper heavier stuff and then she cleans right along with her on the other stuff. So far I'd still rather have that money and do the dirty work myself. LOL

Glad to see you with us today Amy, just think of what your teaching your kids, your doing them a favor!! They'll know just how to keep a neat and tidy house......that's what I always told mine, I was "helping" them with those chores!! :0)

I'm going to wait a couple of hours and make sure that the west coast has had time to check in before making any calls. I know Byndeweed Beth is in OR, do we have any others that would be on Pacific time? I need to go find my timer again!!

~Brenda

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I guess I am not alone in having to do these things myself. I hate always having to clean something. I really think my DS have trash just falling off of him as he walks. Oh, and animals that clean up after themselves would be great.

North Augusta, ON

I would love a maid!! When I met Hubby, I helped him move here...he was living batchelor style with another man...after seeing the state of their house, I told him outright....you will never, ever, be able to once complain about my housekeeping!!!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I was a good housekeeper until so many lifechanging things happened to me. Now I just manage to keep the board of health at bay. :)

(Zone 1)

LOL Makshi ... Don't have a son to worry about but have 4 cats and it sure would be nice if they were potty trained so I didn't have to clean litter pans a few times a day!

My sister has a house keeper and I get so tickled when I visit her. Her housekeeper even folds the toilet paper in each bathroom ( 5 full baths and 2 half baths) into pretty little flower rosettes! I always tell her I hate to use the toilet paper cause I don't know how to make those little rosette flowers when I'm done!

North Augusta, ON

Lin, have you ever noticed...as soon as you clean the litter pans, they all rush in to be the first to use it? Mine are pushing me aside while I'm still sifting....lol

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Your sis has more money than . Now now Diane be nice. If I went to a house with folded TP I would unfold it all and laugh doing it. Sorry I think that is a little much. Lin I just can't get this out of my mind. I can just see my daughter doing that if she thought about it. PLEASE don't tell her.

(Zone 1)

hee hee ... I had to re-read, I thought Threegardeners said she would love to BE a maid! LOL.

Actually I used to enjoy cleaning house .... !!!???***###@@@!!! What was wrong with me?
I have a small house and the older I get the worse I get now. I have a great husband though. He will come home from work and run the vacuum for me. I do cook dinner almost every day and make his lunch for him to take to work every day. I do all the yard work once a week to, every Thursday! I just don't do the intense house cleaning I once did. I remember if we had company coming to visit, even when I was working full time, long hours ... I would still stay up until 2 or 3 a.m. scrubbing floors and making sure the house was spotless. But, then something happened to me @ the age of 50 .... I really slowed down. Now there's so much clutter in my house.

Gee ... I'm feeling so guilty, maybe I should get off my chair and get some things done!

See y'all later!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

When we had our dear little webbles that is the one thing that made me not want a cat. Those litter pans are just so awful.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I have been labled a pack rat. I guess it is true. I just like to keep things that in good usable condition because you never know when you will need it. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

North Augusta, ON

It's true Makshi...as soon as you throw something away, you will find you need it!!!

(Zone 1)

LOL Makshi .... next time I'm visiting my sister I might just have to go around to each bathroom and undo the pretty roses and see if she notices! Yes, her husband has done very well financially. Sis is going through a divorce and the house is up for sale. She is the only one their with her 2 dogs and 2 cats since their daughter is away at college and she doesn't need a huge house like that. It is really a beautiful place, I would love to have one half that size because I'd like a bit more room .... but I cannot imagine having to clean it myself! My entire house would fit in 1/3 of her first floor. I believe her house is 7,000 sq feet and mine is @ 1,000.

(Zone 1)

Oh my goodness ... now y'all sound like my husband! He is the biggest pack rat I've ever known!

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

pack rat makshi??lol..you are Margo are a perfect match..hee hee I can't wait to see pics of her! Oh my gosh I just remembered you were asking about rat diapers on a thread..was it this one?? anyway I was on the internet earlier and ran across a site that had some on there..ok now I just gotta go see if I can find it..be right back...

edited to add: check this out Makshi:

I am a hopeless pack rat too I am afraid..I used to be a neatnick but the older I get the worse I become...Hubby isn't much better so you can about imagine my house..especially upstairs out of companys sight...

North Augusta, ON

I call it the "lived in" look....I remember visiting relatives as a kid, soooo clean, it was like nobody lived there......very uncomfortable.

I'm a packrat, too. I hate being that way. I'm trying to teach myself to just throw or give things away. Why keep them? It's a difficult lesson to learn, especially since my grandmother was the ultimate packrat.

Brenda, I'm not sure my kids appreciate the lessons about housecleaning. LOL Truthfylly, I'm not a good housekeeper. I try, but there's a difference in dirty and cluttered. Dirty does bother me and is unacceptable. Clutter on the other hand... I'm learning to make clutter bother me. ;o)

Lin, I had to LOL about the roses on the toilet paper. I'm just happy for something other than an empty roll to be there! LOL

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I saw that but it says at the bottom that it a spoof. I don't see why that wouldn't be a great product to offer. They have them for dogs.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I drive my kids crazy. I have a lot of clutter and I like Rain don't like dirty. Sometimes I find it had to see the diff. in my home. I live in such a small house about 575 sq. ft. approx. and there is no room for just the normal things let alone extras. The worse room is my bedroom it is 6x7ft and I call that small.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

well poo..I never noticed it was a spoof..thought it might be the perfect thing for margo..I would think someone somewhere would make the real thing....

omg I just read lins post on the rosette shaped tp..LOL..good luck reforming those back into rosettes lin..lol

amy I'm with you..as long as the roll isn't empty..hee hee

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Those rat diapers are hilarious! Get out your sewing machine Diane, they don't look too complicated!! I raised all four of my kids in cloth diapers and remember well the rinsing and washing of them but to do it for a rat? :0) Although the alternative does make it sound worthwhile doesn't it??

I think disposable diapers are the bomb!! But do you notice how much older kids are potty training nowadays? Mine were all potty trained right around the 2 year old mark, just before or just after and it was easy, I think wearing cloth diapers that were so bulky and uncomfortable when they were wet etc contributed to early potty training where now the babies go around in comfort and don't care if they ever stop wearing diapers!!

My husband is also a pack rat but I'm the thrift store donating queen. Not using it, off to the thrift store it goes!! I actually took my daughters cell phone charger to the thrift store as I didn't know where it had come from and I was tired of seeing it laying around. Then I had to go to the thrift store and buy it back for her!! ROTFLOL

Lin I think turning 50 (or getting close to it) makes you realize there are a lot better things to be doing than keeping an immaculate house, I'm saying it's a sign of real genius, that's the excuse I'm using!! Gone are the immaculate days, now if the toilets are scrubbed and everything is picked up I'm good to go for company!

~Brenda

Our house isn't small, just your normal sized house, I guess, but my problem is that we have almost no storage space. We didn't have a closet in our bedroom or our son's bedroom at all, but my husband built a closet in each, so that helps. The living room is huge yet poorly laid out, but most of the rest of the rooms are small.

We have our hearts set on building a house one day, hopefully sooner rather than later, but probably not, and the plans we are working with have lots of closets and storage space! :o) Plus some dorky little extra room that I can't see me using for anything, so my husband has changed that to be a plant room with windows on all sides and with any luck, we can situate the house so that it faces south and thus will get east, south, and west light. *sigh* Dreams... LOL

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

That sounds like a wonderful house Amy..Hope the dream comes true for you..

Brenda..yep mine were potty trained at 2 too.I also used the cloth diapers.I have a nephew whos daughter turns 4 this year and is just now in training pants..

threegardeners my house definitely has a Lived In Look..I agree spooky if its too clean....

How many of you are like me and have what I call Flintstone Closets??LOL..you know the kind where you just hope and pray no one ever opens the door while visiting....lest they be buried under a mountain of stuff.....

North Augusta, ON

isn't that what closets are for???

Flintstone closets!! ROFL We have those!! To some degree, it's out of necessity because there are so few closets, but they could certainly be a hazard... LOL
