Our favorite TV show

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

OMgosh! LMBO!

Ok, I have an idea. I don't know how long we'll be able to keep this running, but we'll see. I'll put up a pic and y'all guess the show. We'll start with an uber easy one.

What show is this Melmacian from?

ALF!!! Fave line...Willy "Why is there a tow truck in the driveway?" Alf "I didn't order any."

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Here kitty, kitty! LOL!

Ok, that was too easy. We'll try another one that's a bit harder...hopefully. Maybe these will all be easy, I don't know. They are still fun.

Anyone remember how cute we thought this guy was? No, not Earnest!

Jan Michael Vincent. Can't remember the show.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Oooohhh, we need the show name. Remembering the cuties name just isn't going to do it! tee hee hee

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Loved Wings too! That Joe has popped up here and there. Too good lookin not to. Wasn't Lowell in Sideways? movie.
No clue on the JMV show...

(Zone 7a)

It wasn't Airwolf by any chance, was it?

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Yep it was! The character's name was Stringfellow Hawke. I never really watched that show, but it was popular. Stringfellow, now there's a name!

Ok, we'll do an easy one. This was my favorite character from this show.

Alice? or Mel's Diner? not sure of the actual name. but did watch it.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Yepper, it's Alice.

Let's see, what should we try now?

Can anyone recognize these folks?

(Zone 7a)

I think they might be the Flygirls from...oh...huh? I had it a second ago. Solid gold dancers!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes! It's Soooooolid Gold! OMgosh, it still makes me laugh that a show like that was so successful. But, of course, look at Dancing with the Stars today....I think that's got to be much worse!

All right, let's see what else we have?

Oh, here's one. I always thought this kid was cute, but the old man gave me the willies for some reason. Maybe it was those eyebrows, I don't know.

I seem to know them all so I'm going to step aside and give someone else a chance.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

They're probably too easy.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I barely remembered Alice and even more barely recognized JMV, and don't at all remember the Solid Gold dancers or this grandpa-kid-puppy thing. Where was I?

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Ok I can't believe no one has answered this yet! Punky Brewster!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Any one remember 'Too Close For Comfort'? With the dad being a cartoon artist or something?

(Zone 7a)

And Facts of Life.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I loved that one!
But I have to say Knot's Landing will always be my fave.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

And for more recent!- Boy do I miss Everybody loves Raymond!

(Zone 7a)

Charmed is fun to watch. Can't seem to get into the CSI shows. Too much bad science and misinformation.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't watch those... Desperate Housewives, Two & A Half Men, Simpsons are the ones I try not to miss.

Phoenix, AZ

RE CSI: Talking to people I know in law enforcement they say there is a real problem in picking jury participants. Seems they watch too much TV and think the real courts should function and operate like they do on TV . Not gonna happen. TV is a whole lot different than real life law enforcement and judical law.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I was a huge Knot's Landing fan also !

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I had jury duty not long ago and they mentioned CSI about the same way! Oh we humans are funny creatures!

(Zone 7a)

It makes good TV but...

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

did anyone every watch "kate and allie"

Love that show watch it in reruns all the time :o)

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Faint bell ringing- who was in that?
Scarecrow and Mrs Muir??? was that the one with the'typical' housewife and the spy dropping in on her that she had to hide? who was that cutie(spy) Kate Jackson may have been the HW..?
Its amazing/shocking/how many shows there have been.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I think you mean Scarecrow and Mrs. King...getting it mixed up with the Ghost and Mrs. Muir (which I think was originally a film that was made into a weekly series...)

Phoenix, AZ

Ghost and Mrs Muir is one of my very favorite top ten movies along with Rebecca.

I have to admit to not being much of a TV watcher... network TV.

But I did love Miss Frances of Ding Dong School

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I remember Kate and Alli! How about Family Ties? My Two Dads? Gosh!-Good TV back then!

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

My Two Dads, Kate and Allie.....I remember those.

Oh, that pic was Punky Brewster. Did that old man give anyone else the creeps?

Anyone recognize this guy? What show? This is a show that I personally did not like.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

He's the guy I hire to protect my hydrangeas from the flower pickers in my neighborhood ! How did you get his picture ? LOL

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Just did a search for the show name plus "tv show" after it. Do you remember the name of the show?

What always got me about this show....and I was just a kid....was why did they pick this guy to star in the show? Why didn't they choose someone younger, someone better looking, someone more muscular, someone more Jan Michael Vincent? Maybe there was something I didn't get, but my thoughts were always, why would I go to him for protection? He kinda looks like he needs protecting himself. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the English accent never made him scary to me either....except maybe if I put my elbows on the table.

Sorry, that's just my take on it. :)

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL ! The "Elbow Police" were ever present at our house growing up.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Yeah, look at that pic of him that I posted. Those squinty little eyes and those pursed lips, can't you just hear him saying, "Get your bloody elbows off the table before I shoot you between the eyes!"

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I lost MORE siblings that way !

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

This is so totally OT, but what is the big deal with elbows on the table anyway? I never did understand that. What is so impolite about that?

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I think it's right up there with drinking milk right from the carton ! (I do it on a daily basis...I can do that since I live alone ! hee hee..)

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

The Cosby Show :)
