I do that too. Or call my Mom, another trivia buff, and wake her. Get the best answers when she has been sound asleep...she answers, then chews me out for calling in the middle of the night!

We are rewatching Northern Exposure on DVD. Loved that show!

Phoenix, AZ

Northern Exposure?
And I loved Twin Peaks, especially the David Lynch director episodes.

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Aguane - Story about a Manhattan doctor forced to work in a tiny town called Cicely Alaska to pay off his student loans. Fun-ny! This is a quirky bunch of folks intermingled with a lot of Indian wisdom ....a blast.

Twin Peaks was great - but I had to be in the right mood.

(Zone 7a)

I liked Forever Knight, too. And Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my all-time favorite! That and Angel. Sort of got into Charmed but not all of them.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Ah, The Flying Nun.

South Milwaukee, WI

What about --I Dream of Jeanie, Lost in Space, and McCale' s Navy. Those are 3 more favorites.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, yes, definitely I Dream of Jeannie.

Land of the Lost, Lost in Space for sure!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Talk about campy!!! To this day "Danger Will Robinson - Danger" with arms flapping is a staple in our house whenever anyone does something really dumb.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Shari, very funny, here, too!

When the dogs are barking, we say "What is it, Lassie?"

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Aguane, I had forgotten Johnny Mathis - I NEVER missed it. Even had a letter from him in response to a fan letter.

all time worst: Lawrence Welk - gag me with a spoon, my folks watched it every week!

Wasn't that "Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb!" ?

Phoenix, AZ

Yes, Ed Byrnes. I met him once. He was friends with my dad.
I also had Dr Ben Casey to my house for dinner. (grew up in Encino CA in the '50s-'60s). Went to school with Gidget (Sally) and Lori Martin (Dawn Menzer-National Velvet), Cindy Williams -Laverne and Shirl, lived across the street from Lassie (there were several). Knew Jim Brown (RinTinTin), Smoked with My Little Margie/Oh Susanna (Gale Storm), made a birthday cake for Steve Allen, etc. And I'm laughing at "etc" 'cause it goes on and on and its just the way it was around there. Bud Abbott and Lou Costello shopped at my mom's market. My dad had dinner with George Reeves the day before he died. Shopped at Gelson's where Annette Funicello shopped). Met Martin Milner filming Rte 66 on my street.... hate to say it but in those days of the beginning of TV it was everywhere. Fun as a young teen.

ha ha --great memories you have -Kwanjin and Island Shari !!!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Can't stand "reality shows"....rather watch movies and re-live the earlier days of tv. Sometimes these shows are better in my memory. Seen some on revival programs, and they are SOOOOO BAD! It's hilarious!

South Milwaukee, WI

I never watch tv anymore. I think you're right about them being better in memory!! How about-- I Love Lucy -Dick Van Dyke show, and Green Acres ?? I once a while back saw an episode of "Petticoat Junction" and thought it was one of the dumb shows I ever seen.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

When my parents moved out here from PA in the 1930s, they built a house in the San Fernando Valley. I was born in Burbank, which is where all the studios grew up. Dad ran a gas station in the early days and met lots of movie stars - some good, some not so good! We have a photo of my eldest brother as a baby in Mickey Rooney's swimming pool. When Dad would service Jimmy Stewart's car and drive it up to the house, he would always ask him in for lemonade, etc. It was a kinder and gentler California in those days - movie stars weren't so worried about stalkers, and their egos weren't quite as big (well, some were, but not as many). :-)

(Zone 7a)

Oh, for those kinder, gentler days! Wasn't Martin Milner In Adam12? Another great show back then. And we enjoyed Police Woman, too.

Phoenix, AZ

Gee kaperc.... maybe we went to your dad's gas station to gased up our 1960 Bonneville convertible.

That's "fer shur"

"Some not so good" - I met Red Skelton after his TV show (I was in the audience 'cause a friend was on with him that night).... he must have said the "_" word a dozen times in front of me (I was 12).

Beautiful day here in Phoenix..

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Does anyone remember that series in the early 60's about a couple that had no children, but rather, they had 3 chimpanzees ? I vaguely remember that one.

One of my older sisters was forbidden to babysit for our neighbors after she spilled the beans that she would watch Peyton Place at their house when the kids went to bed !

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Anybody in CA remember Sheriff John and Crusader Rabbit? Red light, green light. . .

Phoenix, AZ

Oh yea........ I watched Sheriff John and C.R. Funny. I've recently developed a horrible milk allergy!

Queen for a Day?
Mission Impossible was a fav or mine
The Avengers - Diana Rigg
Buster Brown and my dog Tige

The Saint, and there was another one about a detective - Peter Gunn!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Loved the Diana Rigg Avengers! Didn't care for it after she left. Bat Masterson...and much as I hate to admit it, I never missed an episode of the Mod Squad. I wanted to be Peggy Lipton.

Phoenix, AZ

Southern California again....
Engineer Bill.....

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Anybody mention Maverick? That was one of my fav's, too.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Whoooo-whooo!

Phoenix, AZ

Gunsmoke, and wasn't Miss Kitty an anomally? The thought of a "nice" Madam and her friendship with the Sheriff? Her girls being "friends"? Would that fly today? Interesting. Any kind of dark violence with very poor English is OK now but you don't see any "nice" madams anymore. What's wrong with this programming???? LOL

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

I Dream of Jeannie
Hey Hey We're the Monkies!
Remember Hart to Hart?
Now my fave network? TVLand! I Love Lucy, Leave It To Beaver and really miss them showing Donna Reed
My mom always watched wrestling back when it was cleaner and maybe some actual wrestling? So I grew up with that on

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Marlo Thomas in "That Girl" ...
"Julia" with Diann Carroll
"Medical Center"
"Dr. Kildare" was filmed at MGM at the end of our street. The back of the studio offices was what they used for the front of Blair General Hospital. We had to walk right past there to get to our little Catholic school. My sisters were always late for class because they'd hang around waiting to see the Dr.

(Zone 7a)

How cool is that? I got to meet Stephen King and Molly Ringwold that way. They were filming "The Stand" 1/2 a block from where we lived. Where Molly's character is in her home. It was a house that was for sale and I used to drive past every day on my way to work. (Didn't have to but I did anyway.) Theyd blocked the road so they could move some equipment into the house and S.K. and M.R. were standing by the road watching. I rolled down my window and S.K. came over and brought his cute little friend with him. We talked for a minute until the crew was finished bringing their stuff in. Very nice, both of them. Too bad I didn't have one of his books with me. They both would have signed it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jasper, can remember going to teen dance dressed in the latest range..it was either a Ben Casey or Dr. Kildare doctor top..buttoned at the side..looked oh so cool!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Nay one remember the 'learning' cartoons?
Conjuction junction- what's your funtion?
How a Bill Becomes a Law
And my favorite - The Constiution!

(Zone 7a)

I remember those. And the Electric Company where I first saw Morgan Freeman.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok, I can't let this thread die. And, I thought of another great show!

Who remembers "Wings"? With Joe and Brian, Helen and Casey (before Casey there was Alex), Lowell, Antonio, Fay and the irrepressible Roy Biggens. Obviously we loved that show! When Lowell finally left the show is when we quit watching, it just wasn't the same anymore.

What reminded me of this show today, and this is so hilarious, is on the DG new members list there's a new member from Las Cruces, NM. Anyone remember that episode? There was an elderly man that (for some reason I can't recall) Joe or Brian owed a favor to. I think the man claimed he was dying. His last wish was to fly to Las Cruces, NM to see his DB one last time before he left this earth. The man's voice was gritty and whiny at the same time (think Gilbert Godfrey), and he must have said Las Cruces, NM a thousand times (kinda like I am). When they finally arrived at Las Cruces, NM, after many delays, bad weather, etc. the old man got out of the plane, found his DB and punched him in the face!

Every now and then when DH and I are trying to decided where to go, from going out to dinner to going on a vacation, we'll ask the other one, "Where do you want to go?" and the answer comes back a gritty, whiny, "Las Cruces, NM." When I saw that on the DG new members list I could hardly control my laughter!

(Zone 7a)

I remember that one! LOL

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

I have a dear friend who lived in Las Cruces for many years. Went down to visit her once, just once. Luckily now she lives in a much more hospitable place.

(Zone 7a)

I had a friend who lived in NM. She always said she was 30 miles from civilization and 3 feet from Hell. LOL
