Hi - I am new to this forum and the board - I lurk a lot.
The Fullerton Arboretum is having a Cactis and Succulent Sale On Dec 1-2 .
I thought this might be of interest to some of you.
Next So Cal Roundup
snowtop, thanks for letting us know...sales are always of interest! Perhaps we'll see you when we have our next Roundup?
Hey did you hear about the new thread about a DG Convention?
Happy Thanksgiving guys. My place froze last night and my wooly Platanthrus (however you spell it) took a beating in my container. It looks a little wilty so I will cover it tonight. grrrr, It's beautiful blooms drooped too. It looked fantastic yesterday.

lurking is becoming a very popular Calif. pass time !
hiya guys!
It's on! We'll be doing this year's DGRU here at the ranch again for the 4th year. Donna (SoCal) and Jo (roadrunner) will be announcing the date very soon so get on board for another great roundup full of fun, food, and friends.
hope all are well,
don
Yeah!! I am going to be there one way or another!!! Ok well as long as life stays out of the way!!
This is a GOOD thing!
Super! I was beginning to get nervous. :-)
Don & Pam have requested that we hold it in early June...they have a lot of babies due before then and want them old enough for us to ooooh and awww over!!
So...since Father's Day is June 15th...what say you? Will June 14th interfer with anything you have planned for Father's Day? Or would you wish to hold it on June 7th?
Any later than that and it can get right HOT!!
HEY DONNA....come share your input here. Jo
The earlier the better for me..I vote for June 7th...let's see what everyone else has to say....
Yeah, Jo, we might get lucky and have FOG! 7th sounds good to me. The following weekend is Father's Day and might interfere with family plans for some folks.
Hey Jo,
I was looking at the calendar today too and thought the 7th would be the best date also. I'll be contacting Don back soon and I'll ask him if that is a good day for them, ok?
After I talk with him a little more, I'll start a thread with all his information. I guess it's time to think "Party" again. lol
Donna
Donna and Jo, don't forget to delegate!
I am SOOO good at that!! you...you....and you....bring chocolates!! LOL Jo
NO!
What kind of chocolate do you want Jo :o)
She's not fussy as long as it's good, Marie. I was pulling her leg and part of my message didn't show up - the part that said I was "grinning, ducking, and running!" Jo knows everyone is aware of the 'ticket' to the roundup. :-)
Word of warning to everyone - don't use the regular emoticons without using preview! Talk about a flat joke. Sheesh.
Don't tempt her...she's been losing weight and not eating chocolate..isn't that right, Jo?....Jo? That isn't Jo over there with a chocolate bar in her hand, is it?
I know you all were joking. I just had to say it. Jo does that mean I should inform everyone tohat there is to be no chocolate at our March swap? I am sorry but I am not sure I can do that.
All of you will be quite suprised when you see me...at this date I have lost 21-22 pounds...and still allow myself a chocolate treat once in a while...OK!! everyday!!
DGD bought me Godivas forChristmas...I couldn't disappoint that sweet girl, could I?...It took me about a week, but I managed to consume all of them. I must say that I think Godiva's are overrated...I am just as happy with the green ribbon box of Russell Stovers. LOL
Marie...thank you for your kind consideration....but don't bother yourself informing the others at the swap...Iif you do I will NOT bring Sopapillla Cheese cake to the swap!!).heheheh
Jo
Jo
Sorry but I can not let anything get in the way of me and the sopapilla cheesecake!!
Ah, we have struck a healthy balance!
Jo, I am so proud of you on your weight loss. I can't wait to see you.
Marie, I also love that sopapilla cheesecake. It's fun to create it in so many different ways. I sure hope you can come this year as I remember you wanted to come so bad last year.
I am in the confirming stage with Don and Pam and as soon as I know all the particulars, we will get this party started on a new thread.
Donna
What is the theme this year anyone have any ideas? I was worried about the heat but Don and Pam have colts to birth earlier so it will be the soonest they can do it. We are so greatful anyway. They may have to start it at 6 am this year and get rid of us all early. lol
Marie are you coming?
Yes I am!!
Drdon suggested an Irish Theme...can I pull of being a "sweet Colleen"?
Shouldn't be too hot, Dawn. http://weathercurrents.com/temecula/ClimateJune.do
Of course, thinking about it now, that heat will be welcome. Ask me after the fact! lol
Probably not as bad as it will be here in the desert at that time!!
Ooooh, Jo, FINALLY something I'm suited for. Can I wear my family tree on my back? I can bring Irish soda bread.
You can pull off anything, you sweet thang!
Kathleen...you're so nice...are you bringing an extra man or two this year??? Jo
Does she normally bring extra men???
Have been known to, Marie!
So any other secrets I need to know about it??
LOL. C'mon, Marie, we all need a little mystery.
Kathleen...I'm speechless !
As DH would say, "Rubbish!"
I am one quarter (actually two-eighths) Irish!
I will bring colcannon (a potato-cabbage dish)!
~'spin!~
My maternal grandfather was from Ireland. He was an Irish twin(for real).
My dad is from the Ukrane, that theme would suck, anyone for cold beet soup. mmmmm!
I make good cabbage rolls. I can bring the Irish coffee. lol
My Sister in law makes good cabbage rolls..she doesn't use tomato sauce, but cooks them in a roasting pan on top of a lot of Sauerkraut. Yummy. Jo
Sounds German. My mom puts a little vinegar on top with bacon.
