Christi~
I built the collage in Photo Studio.. I start with a big blank page and reduce pics, then copy and past them on. Merge all the layers. Add text, then size it down to around 1000x750pixels.
What software came with your digital camera?

The Bittersweet blooms of Fall Part II
You have wowed me, love gypsy! Your roses and other plants are beautiful and so healthy.
Pod, Christi, and Debnes, thank you for the kind words. I love this thread.
Debnes, your collage is gorgeous. I love the red yucca too.
Last but not least, the butterflies really intrigued me. I hope you get to post more of them.
Thanks, Martha
Gorgeous plants Gypsy! Welcome to the Texas forum!
Thank you!!! I am a newbie to roses and planting in Texas. I started gardening in Erie, PA so all the wonderful things that will grow in Texas is overwhleming. I'm gardening myself into a JUNGLE ha ha ha!!
We'll help you with that! I hope you get a chance to make the plant swaps. Those are a great way to get new plants and meet some great folks. I went to my first one in Oct and it was awesome!
Is there a forum for plant swaps or does it get posted in here? I travel all over tracking down plants on the weekends so I'd love to make it !
Gypsy, here is the forum for all the Roundups on Dave's garden;

The ones for Texas are posted on the Texas forum, there will be one at College Station in spring, it is usually hosted by Dave himself.
We usually have the north Texas one in the fall, here is a link to that thread.

Hi Martha, (and anyone who is interested). I began a new thread in a series we've been working all spring summer and fall. This thread is mainly for the late bloomers... :-) http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/795474/

I'll stop now LOL!
Oh and, nice to meet you gypsy!! :-S
Debnes, I really love the intense primary colors you have blooming ~ so very pretty.
Loveisagypsy ~ what a romantic collection of blooms you have. I am so glad you joined us...
I understand the "waiting for weeks" for the first bloom. I got this variegated dwarf Hibiscus (cheap ) at a community garage sale earlier in the summer. I have been impatiently awaiting the blooms. As it is a tropical, I brought it in overnight Tuesday as it frosted. This morning, I was blessed with the first bloom!
Good job pod!!
Amazing bloom!! And the foliage is gorgeous too!

Hi Debnes!! I paid a fortune for that tropical milkweed at Teas in Bellaire, TX. Then I found a lady on Craigslist in Cedar Park, TX (near Austin) that sells them for $2 and the are amazingly healthy. I plant them behind my rose bushes.
Oh my goodness Pod!! I am going to scour the plant shops this weekend for a Bolivian Sunset, how gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! I've had no lucj with Hibiscus even though I love them dearly. Roses love my soil, I think I'll have to put some more energy into getting Hibiscus to grow. I pick up plants at garage sales, swap meets, anywhere they look neglected. I rescue dogs so of course wouldn't you know ....I rescue plants too!
Gosh I wish you lived closer... plants, dogs, cats. I need help! LOL And I wish there were a Craigslist for the rural areas. Big cities do have some advantages.
G whiz gypsy I will send you seeds for free! They will germinate easy by direct sowing anytime in the warm season. I have them all over the back yard and concentrated in one place. I don't mind this because my back yard is dedicated to hosting about 15-20 species of butterflies and caterpillars. (You can see everything from over the summer in the Hb&Bf forum under Daily Butterflies pages 1-25.) Gulf Fritillaries are still laying eggs in the passionvines as of yesterday!!
Have you had any Monarch or Queen cats this year?
Love the glox pod!! It's positively brilliant!

I'm gonna start Part III.
