Computer will be back to me Wednesday night with a new motherboard and CPU. I can hardly wait! That will be the second motherboard - the first one got a *little* lightening damage. But they promised to make the sound work - the last guy broke the sound when he did the motherboard. I will be able to listen to the tunes behind the e-cards people send to me now! (Yes, my life is that pitiful!)
Water Cooler
Cat - that would be a step-motherboard??
Good Grief . . . I just took the quiz, and this Canuck scored 58% Dixie!!!!!! I wanna recount!
Pretty close to me - even scarier!!
41% for me = "barely Yankee"
49% barely Yankee
64% Dixie........guess I'm working back into my southern half!! Victor - I think you are my long-lost brother from the Deep South.......don't apologize for being southern....it only hurts part of the time!! LOL
Dawn - don't let those harpies scare you about "maturing".......LOL.....menopause is doable.......except for the hot flash I just had!! There are so many herbs these days to help you with the discomfort stuff, and they REALLY work!! No estrogen for me!!
I thought the flashes were past....stopped taking the goods...now they're back......or maybe I'm about to have a stroke.....hmmmmm
Kinda looking forward to menopause...I'll finally be warm!!!!!
Take pictures with the flashes!
I like those mitts.
Okay I don't get it now - should I be looking forward to menopause or freaking out!!! Hahahaha - either way I have seen the effects of it on my mom and my co-works and I think I will stick to freaking out!!!!! I am hoping I still have 20 or so years to go before that happens but who knows these days....women are getting it so early. I am already 33 but I am sure I have started having the hot flashes already! Eeeeks!!!
Possible alternative energy source?? Can we harness the power from all the menopausal women? Dare we?
36% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee.
Probably shouldn't dare, it could be worse than a nuclear explosion, and less predictable.
I took the quiz with TWO cats (Al!) and came out definitive yankee 38%.
Took the quiz....50% Yankee it says but my Momma told me I was 100%!
I managed a 49% too, barely yankee. How odd since I grew up here. Too much tv as a kid ya think?
I have doubts about the accuracy of their explanations. One of my answers resulted in a 'Popular in Michigan' response when the phrase is clearly used more generally. There were others as well.
It's a Southern test....not supposed to come up Yankee. I think it's an insult for the Southerners who score 'yankee'!
What I am curious about is that there is no West coast identity - Just Yankee or Dixie. . . . 'cause I am definitely from the Pacific Northwest.
48% barely yankee I think those in the pacific northwest are all transplants from the east anyway.
well, i gave the landlords back the 2 divisions i made of one of their huge mums - the other one is planted. So those are no longer up for grabs. But there may be more soon...
edited to add:
the liriopes they planted are sending up little fans all over the place. anyone want liriopes?

Amy, Could I wait untill spring??
i dunno - can i still dig them up then? Anything i pot up has to go - nothing is coming inside. (Ok, maybe rosemary. But nothing else.)
I meant could you leave them in the ground and dig them next spring. Give them a little more time to grow up.
How do get rid of fruit flies?
My cats do a good job.....
put 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and a couple drops dish washing liquid in a little cup and set it near the fruit flies - the flies will fall in and drown
No Joy in Flyville.
ok...so maybe cats are a pretty high maintenance bug catcher...but still...they work.
42% - barely Yankee??? Oh no!!! Guess my move to 'Dixie country' eight years ago is tainting my background - must be those few "Y'alls" that keep slipping out of me - my Yankee 'children' (adults) are always catching me LOL
Do any of you have a mini tiller - like a troy or a mantis? I know I have posted this elsewhere but I need some feed back - these seem very expensive and I want to be sure I will get my money's worth before I order one. Is this something that (1) you use routinely and can't imagine being without, (2) used it once and now it is gathering dust in the shed, or (3) have no idea what I am talking about. lol
Really - help me out here. To order one costs $350 bucks for the mantis (comes with "free" edger) This is 2 stroke gas powered motor. I want to use it on the terrace which has dirt like cement. DH has a full sized tiller - but I would like a smaller one I can use around plants.
Anyway - this is the web-site -

tell me what you think
I use one from work every year. They are great for loosening up estblished beds. They are not very heavy and will not work good in heavy soil.

Seandor - I replied on the other thread - Weather reports or whatever it's called.
Guess what? My youngest daughter and my youngest granddaughter are coming to live with me for a few months while her hubby finishes up his military obligation!
I am so happy! This is the grandchild I still haven't hugged or kissed, and she's almost a year old.
Now, off to vacuum out the guest room and wash up the linens ... well, maybe in a few hours ....
That's wonderful! My prayers to your SIL.
Ditto, Candyce. Please thank him for his service. I am one who appreciates it greatly.
Great news, Candyce. I also thank him for his service!
He wll be very happy to read, or know, that you all care so much. I'll make sure I pass your good wishes along to him. He's staying in Pensacola until January ... maybe. He hasn't decided if he'll stay in the service for another tour. And no, before you ask, he has not seen combat.
