Victor, I had major doubts about planting any more last year.... but the ones Andy gave me ( bishop's children) were a piece of cake to dig out... so I think I need to really ammend the soil ...
The divorce shower I heard about it, every one gave the woman mismatched things... that's what she wanted... and she got to move out and get new stuff... I heard nice things about it...
It's Harper's Birthday!!
So it continues the mismatch theme...
LOL.... that woke me up.... I mean the dahlias started as a small tuber..... lol... I don't know what to say.... I keep laughing.... oh brother, that's a good one!
well, that's not new... we always do that... but it keeps it fun!!!
Thanks.
I expect you to look a lot more like jennifer Lopez now.
LOL!!!!!!!! hahahhahhahhahha.... oh you are good!!!!!!!!! I have a lot more gardening to do before I can get to look like J. Lo.....
I hate it when I miss posting during Sunday afternoons - I miss tons 'o stuff to which I should be replying!
Victor, pirl, Dave, Loretta, Kassia, Eleanor, Louise, Everyone! Thank you so much for all your love and support. I feel strong and healthy. How could I not with all the support I've received? Hugs to everyone!
Victor and pirl, kids say the darndest things, right? Once, when my son was 5, he was angry at me and said that he was going to run away. When I asked him how he planned on doing that, he said he was going to go to 1010 WINS (radio station) and he was going to give them 22 minutes, and they were going to give him THE WORLD! I still laugh about that one. He still has plans for world domination now at age 12.
For those who don't know, the radio station is all news and their by-line is, "1010 WINS. Give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world".
Wowie on those dahlias Kass! That's a lot! I still haven't dug mine up yet... or the cannas.
(((Hugs to Harper)))
BIG hugs to Harper. I love the 1010WINS story. How adorable!!
Oh the kids in my house are really funny... you should see Victor learning English and saying things with an accent and being a wise guy... He was sick all last week so every day when I came home I ask him if he is better... and everyday his answer is not yet... so yesterday I asked him and he told me "oh I couse I am better!" adn so I said well this is good, so you can help me gardening today ... he was so quick and said "well, for gardening I am still sick!" and starte coughing~~~ I am telling you this kid is hard to make into a slave...
I sometimes blow dry my hair in such a way that I look like a scarecrow , all freezy!!!! ... and my favorite thing is to go and upstairs and see Alec & Victor, because they will really laugh and say something like, Oh auntie Kassia you look so good... and your hair looks like a witch... the rest of you is ok...
Alec on the other hand will look at me and ask "how did you do that? what happened to your hair? but I love you auntie Kassia and grandma can fix you~
I still have the cannas to dig too.., and roses to clean and bring inside the garage... and all the leaves to rake! oh I love this life... wish I coauld only garden!
No word on my latest job application... It's harder than I expected to find a first nursing job... everyone wants a year experience!
oh they are cute...
I am sending you good job-hunting vibes, Kassia!!
You're very welcome Harper. That's a great 1010 story! You should email them and tell them about it. I was interviewed on 1010 once for my stickball game. It was the lead story for hours in the summary that they do at the beginning of each period.
Kass - a wise guy named Victor?! Can't believe that. Good luck with the job search. Something will come up.
Kassia, your wild hair story with the kids is so cute! I will also be sending you good job-getting vibes!
Nice going on the WINS story, Victor! I never thought about writing them about what DS said... I certainly got a lot of chuckles out of it!
Maybe you should try the witch hair at the next interview Kass!! Maybe - Interview with a Vampire. He must need a nurse to help with all that blood!
VIctor, I am sure the name has to do with Victor being a wise guy...
I wish next time we all meet we do something so I can take my 2 nephews... They had a good time when we had the RU at our house... I want them to love gardening... and I think Alec already does... but Victor is another story... Maybe you Victor can influence the little Victor???!!!!!
I will take a pic of the witch hair one of these days ...
It would be loads of fun to hold a RU at my house some day. Perhaps a seed-trading RU.
Kassia - wishing you well in your job hunting. What type of places did you apply? Hospitals usually are always hiring, and willing to hire new grads, also nursing homes. I've been a nurse for 29 years, I would hire you! I'm sure you will find something and they will be lucky to get you.
Oh Candyce that's a great idea... when we all get restless it would be great....
Debilu, I applied at Milford Hospital (Milford MA) last week. Befor that I have applied at 3 other hospitals and the problem is that they have openings but they are so short staffed that they have no preceptors... so they hire new grads but a certain amount~ I am have hopes... too bad you are in NY ... that would be a long commute!
Thanks everyone... I appreciate your support and friendship...
Consider yourself 11 months early Sherrie. This thread seems to have legs!
Thanks Sherrie! I thought you said happy birthday too! Well, thanks again!

This is the best birthday thread ever!
Good luck, Kassia. A new job will happen when you're not even thinking about it.
Kassia: perhaps there's someone you know who's just out of the hospital and could use some loving care to get well. Maybe not even in your area but someplace warm and sunny. Think hard.
Kassia - lots of luck with the job hunting. Eleanor
Good luck, Kassia. Your effervescent spirit will do wonders for people who are in need of some cheer and good care. Nurses are so awesome and can make all the difference in quality health care - especially in hospitals. You are needed BIG TIME, so don't get discouraged! My sister is a nurse, and she knows more than a lot of doctors!
Candyce - Yay....I love the idea of going to your house for an RU!
Harper - I hope your journey brings you so many nice surprises, that the down days will pale in significance. Been there.....it was a good thing for me too, but there was lots of grief. Wishing you lots of blessings, self-knowledge, growth and happiness. I just suddenly realized the significance of your bedroom makeover.....that was the FIRST thing I did......out with all the old, made it just what I wanted for myself. Looks like you are having fun doing that too. Yay!!!!
Thank you so much Louise!
Oh Kassia, those are beautiful roses! What a lovely bouquet!
Ooooh, Kassia! Gorgeous roses!!!
Oh, Kassia!!! I have never had such a great birthday celebration. Those roses are sooooo beautiful. *sigh*... I'm in Heaven! I saved them to my desktop. Now I'll see them every morning!
They're grand, Kassia. They're also a good reminder that I should cut the few I have.
Very nice Kass. I see the turtles enjoy them as well.
Looks a lot like my 'Jacquenetta'.
If I could keyboard, I have a great kid story related to my youngest and the cat. But I can't so it will have to wait until we are at a RU.
Good luck job hunting, Kassia!
Harper, how are your kids doing?
I just have one kid and the dog, who's like a kid in many ways. He's doing very well. Thank you for asking. So, what do you mean, "if I could keyboard"?
Oh, I thought you had 2. Must have been the dog.
I'm a 2 fingered hunt & peck guy. Takes me forever.
That's what I thought you meant, and it's no excuse. I want to hear your story now that you said you have one. Also, get a Mavis Beacon tutor. They're great!
