Wondering who my judge chose as most unusual seeds?
Here's what he had to say: (NOTE: Since bold doesnt show up here I put asterisks next to his choices)
These in bold were my final choices. Although I don't like invasive species like the
Devils claw it is unusual. Since # 1 has 4 I guess i will have to pick that one. they both have some really neat seeds Five Spot nemophila sure is pretty. There were others also that I had on my
unusual" list, eyeball plant, easter egg plant ,Climbing spinich & Red Yucca I did discover Lions Ear & Lions Tail were the same

I do have a list for some of the seeds I would like. But not many just a few. I will send that on a different mail

Congrats to the winner and runner up! :-)

I can't wait to receive my envie! :-)

Thanks Theresa for all your work to do this swap! It was such fun and you did an excellent job of posting the seeds with corresponding links about the plants! Thank you so much!

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you Theresa - It has been fun.
For whoever got the Monkey Hand Tree - do some research as they seem to be very hard to germinate. I have not had success yet.

Quoting:
"The seeds are hard to break from their dormancy and need 3 months or so in the refrigerator at a temperature of 5 degrees centigrade. They then need to be immersed in near boiling water, 80 to 95 degree centigrade and left to soak for 12 to 24 hours while the water cools. The seeds then need to be scarified (lightly sanded or scraped to soften the outer coating)".
from the DG listing.

Marine City, MI(Zone 5a)

I've added first names and DG name to the seed lists. http://www.freewebs.com/gardenbabe/
This will make it easy to set up additional swaps for seeds you may not have gotten.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for following instructions. It makes it easier and I am able to have fun too!
Everyone sent in their return postage, packets were labeled very nice by everyone too.
Thanks for all the compliments. I hope everyone is happy....

Is that your doggie??? Mine got lucky this year - I had to do In-Services at work that day, so they didn't have to come in dressed up. And I got home so late that evening that i didn't have time to dress them - just gaudy neck bands with bells!

But I do have to share a picture of my hot little pepper!

its not my dog, just a cute pic. Your Pom is adorable. My hubby had one, Teddy. He was with Allen since birth, and lived to a ripe old age of 18 years!
We miss him, but sure enjoy seeing other poms...is yours a girl?

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Nope - he's this sweetest little rescue in the world. I have a 14 pound Tibetan Spaniel (also rescued) and spent 3 years looking for a companion for him. Every time the shelter would call with a likely candidate, I'd haul PekeBoo down to the shelter to "interview" his prospective brother or sister. Each time one or the other wouldn't be happy with the mix, and home we'd go. FINALLY - this little doll showed up and it was love at first sight. 2 years later and you'd never imagine one without the other!

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Thanks for putting the nameswith the seeds Theresa that was above and beyond the call of duty :) You've done such a great job with this swap are my seeds here yet? lol I can't wait!

My neighbor has a papalon not sure about the spelling but I just love that little dog I think they are related to the Poms. Your alls dogs are so sweet!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

My neighbor's Pap is a cutie - but talk about a yapper! I thought Hannibal was bad until I met him! YOWSKA!

I have 6 kitties, too, and it's funny to see them with the little dogs, both of whom (?) are smaller than the 2 biggest cats. It's amazing to see them all interact...each has their own specific personality!

Marine City, MI(Zone 5a)

Caren/HeavenScent! Your cool seeds arrived today, yours goes out in tomorrows mail!
Better late than never!!!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow! Gotta love the mail service!

Marine City, MI(Zone 5a)

you got that right Sequee!
Now, if Hillbilly_Grans shows up we will be all accounted for!
I have some neat seeds reserved for her too.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Very cool - I'm sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation. (Sheesh - it just occurred to me. THEN I have to wait to plant them!!!)

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

YEP! And we have a long time to wait to plant them even the WS ones lol Is it spring yet???? I wish I could plant them as soon as they come in then I wouldn't be misplacing them all winter I always go thru that no matter what I do!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll bet we can cheat and start some of them sooner...

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Cheating is fun isn't it he he he he

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

But which ones can we start earlier - I mean - we are in zone 6! (Well, I admit - I have already started some daylily seeds - but one was getting moldy - so, of course, i had to start them immediately, right?)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

Wow,Look what happens when you're away for a couple of days. Looks like I've been missing out on all kinds of fun.

Congratulations to the winners.

Thank you for hosting this great swap Theresa.
You've done an incredible job. I really admire your organizational skills.
Can't wait to get those great seeds.
Joy

South West, LA(Zone 9a)

Well thank goodness!! I so glad you got them FINALLY!

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Sendor,
Sounds good to me :) Did you start your daylily seeds in the house or outside? I don't know anything about daylily seeds just what I read on here :) I have a few seeds from the older ones but I've never planted any, thinking about it this year just to try them :)

I don't know about you but I really hate to start my light any sooner than I have to that electric bill is high enough for me lol But I am getting a 'little anxious' I may have to start one or two lights lol I'm not sure which ones I'm getting from the swap yet I'm dying of curiosity! I don't start hardening perennials off until like the end of March I think. That's a long time for plants to be under lights :) I'll start my Lianthus and Lantana in Jan. and I think that is the first ones to be started under lights, not sure if any in the swap will have to be planted that soon. Plants that reseed could probably be planted right now for perennials by WS.

Oh I so hope mine get there:( I can't believe it's taken this long! I am going to P.O. to mail more seeds this weds-- you can bet I will take the postmaster to task! I actually handed the envelope to the man!! I have no way of knowing if my donation to NARGS mailed the same day has made it either. Nothing has been returned to me. Guess I'll cross my fingers and hope they get there!
Tommie

Nelson, NH(Zone 5a)

Hey Theresa, I did not save any more of the centaurea montana 'amethyst-in-snow' seeds because the plants send out so many runners it didn't seem necessary. I wish I would have. You can let your mentor know I would send him some plants in the spring or seeds next season-then let me know after you talk to him what he would like to do.
All the little doggies are CUTE! I'm a kitty person. My kitty, Lily, was from the shelter as well. She came with the name-isn't that great!
I hope everyone LOVES all their seeds!-Kath
