Loving the pings Amy! Especially Pinguicula esseriana! It's so cute!
Any health news from jannich and about her!!!!!!!! part 2
Did you see what it should end up looking like? http://www.cascadecarnivores.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=92 How pretty is that? :o)
That is beauty .... looks like a rose!
Very nice Gail! Wow! So full and look at all those bloom stalks! What do you feed your Chirita's? Could it be C. 'Stardust'? So many of them look the same to me. The flowers look like Stardust but I can't see the leaves clearly. Your's may be something else cause the leaves look wider than my Stardust ... look at the picture of my Stardust I posted at near the top of this thread. Do your leaves have that variegation or are they solid in color? I sure would like to know which one that is you have there ... really pretty! I am really hooked on the Chirita's!
I have your Stardust that you gave me............this one only looks a little like it but I know it is not Stardust because the one you gave me is giant..............I pretty much know which ones I have..........let me go look at the named ones and think which one is missing...........
Lin........I am sitting here with a big case of Eleanor's food........it is great on leaves and infant plants but that food will not get mine to bloom............once they are a nice size plantlet, i start with the food i get in Boerne which is 12-36-10.........and that is all they get from then on..........period............
You can get 5 lbs of it for 10.00 and you only use less than 1/2 tsp. per gallon in the house.

Oh, I gave you a Stardust? LOL .... don't remember that! Do you remember where you got your other's?
Maybe C. 'Kazu'?? Here's the pic at Bluebird Greenhouse website. I love this one too ... mine hasn't bloomed yet and isn't real large!
http://www.bluebirdgreenhouse.com/html/fimages/0928-1451-2705.jpg
smart alec.......................you are right..................i have the tag for Kazu on the wrong plant.............that is exactly what mine looks like...........will take a picture for you of the Stardust you gave me...........she has bloomed several times...................
It was Stardust that I gave you, that I had two of.
Wow! Your plants are so big and healthy! Please tell me what you do and what you feed them!
In the mail on Monday I am sending you some.............i am sitting here with 5lbs of it.......I use it on the outside patio plants, too..........................only you use 1/2 tsp to a gallon for outside plants.................
In November, i can pick up a lot more of it............when I am in kerrville.....................
Oh, Thank You so much! How much do you use on your Gessie plants?
If I am wicking plants inside, I use a little more than 1/8tsp. per gallon of water in the reservoirs................if I am just watering, I use 1/4 tsp per gallon of water................I might just once a month use clear water to either water or to run through the plant for any salt buildups...............
Thanks Gail! I am using Dyna Gro right now at 1/4 tsp per gallon of water to my wicked plants and about once a month I use plain water also. That is for all the wicked Gessie's. I have been using the VF-11 for all the other houseplants when I remember to feed them!
Gail, I would love to send you the money if you would pick me up some of that food when you go in November (that is, if you don't mind). I'm sure that my plants would surely benefit from it and I can't even find anything other than Miracle Grow at the store's around here. Agway does carry the Fish Emulsion but that is it :(
I would greatly appreciate it :)
Kim
I used to use fish emulsion back in the 70's but no one around here has carried it in many years. I didn't even know it was still out there until I read on some of these forums about people using it. I used to swear by that stuff ... didn't smell too great but the plants loved it!
Wow...pings look awesome! They look pretty demanding, though. I'd probably kill it. lol
Very Pretty Lin :) Great Growing :)
Lin, she is awesome looking..................what do you mean asking me what i do................wow...............give yourself a pat on the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well ... actually I haven't done anything except wick it and sit it under the lights. It is really full and suckering .... but I hate butchering them, they always look so much worse when I get done!
Sometimes i tackle those suckers early on and sometimes I just watch them in amusement as it is fun to watch. I have a beautiful Russian Ian Selena that I let get multiple crowns. Now that she has quit blooming, I am going to make several plants of her.
Keep going, I'm learning so much here. See, I don't grow any of these plants so I love seeing them and learning through what you do :)
It is so hard for me to butcher them ... I am getting to the point that I'd rather buy 2 of the same plant than to have to do surgery to make more! I'm not a good plant doc, my surgeries often fail and I lose the plant patient altogehter! So, I am probably better off buying 2 or 3 of the same ones!
OMG, I LOVE propagating :) That's how I got your Hoya Multiflora Lin *lol*. I had to cut it (with a knife even *lol*) and then root it. My plants spend as much time out of their pots as they do in them *lol*. I am forever playing with something. Hubby says....if you would just leave them alone they would grow *lol*
If anyone is online.....................please go to Westover's post on the AV forum and look at his blooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to die for plants.................I think the thread is something about introducing himself as a beginner...............but he is good
Gail, the plant in this post http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4027872 the fuzzy one that is Spider-something, is Brown Spiderwort, Siderasis fuscata. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/54965/
I've got a few pics to post, so I'm going to start a new thread. Kim, be sure to follow us to the new one, as you'll see lots more pics and keep on learnin'! LOL
I'll be back in a minute with a link to the new post.
Edited to add:
Here's the new thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/775751/ Come on over, everyone! :o)

Hi there everyboby!
Just popping in to say Hi to you all.
Look at all the lovely plants everyones growing.I have alot of catching up to do.Enjoying the pictures everybodys posting:)
Jan: We have been so worried about you! How are you doing? Sure is good to see you pop in! Take good care of yourself ... still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
Jan.................................I am so glad to see you...................do you ever answer your phone or your emails and dmails..............we have worried .............Rain, Lin and everyone else..............
Jan and everyone else................remember those baby plants that jannich sent me as little babies...........she had grown from seed?................look at them now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kohleria on the front right 'Manchu'
Sinningia on the front left side 'Scarlet Red'
Back right side is Sinningia Eumorpha White
Back left side is going to need a bigger pot tomorrow.......Sinningia speciosa Ac 1503
I gotta quit looking at these plant pictures! I swore to myself that I am not going to buy any more plants until next spring! I gotta get a Sinningia! I have the two teeny ones, S. 'pusilla' and S. 'Rio das Pedras' but I don't have one of the standard size ones yet. If I can just hold on for another month ... then it will be too cold for the companies to ship! LOL. Gotta try to wait til spring!
I just planted my mixed seeds from the Gessie Society seed packet....if I can get even one or two beauties like those I'll be one happy camper!
Send me some good seed growing vibes Jan.......LOL
In the meantime here is the biggest "Fuzz" seedling I have out of the four that grew from my seeds from Keyring, I just love these little furry guys!
~Brenda
I still haven't sowed my seeds from the Gessie Society yet. Keep saying I'm going to do it ... ooooh what is that fuzzy little plant that you got from seed from Keyring? That is a great looking plant!
It is Sinningia Leucotricha......I have to go find the packet that Keyring wrote the name on every time I need to spell it, that's why I'm still calling it Fuzz. LOL
I know I spread at least a hundred little seeds about when I sowed them in June and I got four plants to grow! But I'm really happy with the four I have!! So if I can get the same results with the Gessie Society seeds then it will be a success!
~Brenda
Lin, I am really looking for sinningias in both Austin and kerrville..............rhizomes, too.........I am in love with them.................then I will have plenty of cuttings and plants come spring..........so hold on tight..............all of us together are going to get eventually quite a collection of these beauties....................
Brenda................how big did you let yours get before you gave them a solo cup of their own?????????? I am not knowing what to do with both the streps from seed i showed above and the seeds I have grown from the man in Brazil.................
great.............I am ready to start the solo pots this weekend........
Here they are one month later on the 30th of September....they did great so I know yours will do even better as they are so big a healthy already....
On a similar topic I have moved this tray of Strep babies to the new grow light shelves and I noticed they are looking a bit yellow....does that mean the light is too bright now???? The light is no closer to them but it is the big 4 foot long grow light instead of a small 24 inch one.
~Brenda
Hi Lin:) I doing so so.The country doctor says the infection isn;t going away cause of my heart and low inmune stystem. He gave me a cane to walk with witch makes it easier for me to breath. So at least i can go out into the yard and look at the flowers and pull weeds thats taking over.I go see the lung doctor tommorow and see what he says.Don't buy and sinningia.I need lots of homes for the ones I'm growing here from seed.
Gail.I answered the email just don't know why you don't get them.I need to come to daves more!.LOL.And you must be calling when I'm outside and can't hear the phone.
OMG what are you feeding those plants? There huge! I need to find another kind of fertiflizer.
