Ok, I can't resist....LOL one more of my grandson at an even younger age with the first batch of dachshund puppies we ever had. They were still real little here.

Sept. Bingo Page 4
Oh gosh, he is even more charming than those cute pups! What a great grin!
Bmedel...................you have the most beautiful family i have ever seen..............not anything but good looking adults, teenagers and grandchildren....................
Makshi/Diane: Prayers and Good wishes to for a speedy recovery! We miss you already! Just stay in bed and get the rest you need and listen to Dr.'s orders.
...... and don't worry, we will take good care of your son! LOL. He might just end up taking over your job of Bingo Caller permanently! Ha Ha .... after a few days with all of us ladies, some ditzier than others (Me!) he might be running from the computer, or accidently pulling the plug - or maybe borrowing Snow Rose's puppy to chew on the power cord awhile! :)
Snow: What an adorable puppy "Becky" is! Soooo cute! I want a dog so bad ... someday we will have another dog in the family!
Bmedel/Brenda: Your grandson is absolutely the most handsome little guy! I know you must be a proud grandma! I don't know anything about dachund's but I have a Sister In law who has a long haired dachund .... mean dog - snarls, growls and bites EVERYONE who gets near him/her, with the exception of my SIL. (It's because of the way it was raised).
Well, I spent 4 hours making Christmas Stockings this morning and chatting with the lady I workded with! Now, I need to get to the P.O. to get them in the mail to the next destination, a Soldiers Angel's group in California, who will stuff them and mail them on to Iraq!
I also need to get a letter written to the Soldier I adopted and get his package in the mail. So, y'all have a good afternoon and I will check back in sometime tonight!
Lin
P.S. WELCOME to Makshi's son! You can tell us your name if you want, or not .... whichever you prefer! We PROMISE to be nice to you! And, please tell your dear Mom that we miss her!
Critter your right about that boy being a charmer, he's had me wrapped around his finger since the day he was born and still does! And he knows it! LOL
Thanks for the compliments on my family Gail! I figure DH and I mixed our genes pretty well when I look at my kids and grandkids cause of course I think they are adorable! But don't we all, just like Makshi's clue above about a mothers love! LOL
Lin your right, it's all in how you raise those puppies as to whether they will be a one person dog or just like everybody!
Well rats, I don't have either of todays calls on my card!!
I have a new little strep blooming. I almost lost several young plants while on vacation so I was thrilled to see Bristol's Gum Drop bloom this week!
~Brenda
Nice blooms Gail, that Spiritual Corridor is such an eye catcher!!
My King of Kings is getting some big leaves on it. It only had one leaf for a long time but it's filling out now. I cut about 5 inches off the longest leaf so I could try and start one for my DS as he wants a big one.
This picture was taken a couple of days ago in front of an 8 x 10 digital picture frame. I took the picture next to something so I could see how big it's really getting. And the blooms are beautiful too!!
~Brenda
That lady who is president of AV club in Corpus did exactly what you did........she would look at a leaf and if it was too big for "showing" in competetion, she would cut the leaf in half and give me two wedges.................keeping the bottom part for the plant to bloom........
Beautiful blooming streps, Gail. You are doing so well with them.
Bemedel...that grandson of yours is a doll! And those puppies are adorable. Were they the standard size or the mini dachshunds? I couldn't help but notice the poodle in the picture with your King of Kings strep.( which will get enormous in time). On it's way now. Another huge one is Blue Mars.
Thanks, Lin. One of these days you'll get one. A lot of work at first but wonderful little companions.
I was going to ask what Kind of puppy Becky is...didn't realize she was a dachsund...lol Very sweet face!! Pretty child too!!!
Diane, please take care of yourself! You will be in my prayers!
Eunice, I pray you and yours are all doing okay...wish someone had heard from you!
I might just have to do a people search on Eunice and see if I can find a phone number and call. I hate to be invasive, but at least she would know we are thinking about her! Will let y'all know what I find.
Thanks Lin!
Couldn't find anything doing a people search. I will put a card in the mail to her in the morning and she should get it Saturday. Hope all is well with her and her husband. She may have had to go to Jacksonville again. The last time she posted she said her brother was not doing well.
Diane...sending more good thoughts and wishes your way. I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and rest a little.
Eunice...also hoping everything is okay with you.
Snowrose, Becky looks so sweet! I have my kitties, but want to get a puppy soon too. What joy to have a cute little puppy in your home. I'd imagine both you and Becky have agreed to forget about the power cord incident. :o)
Lin...what a great thing you're doing!.. I just joined the FRG in Pete's battalion, so I'm sure we'll be doing something similar very soon.
Brenda...I'm going to have to share that picture with my mom, even though it will start another round of "when are my grandchildren coming". LOL Sometimes she likes to peek in on DG. Your grandson is so handsome!!
Don't want to take away the good thoughts for Starfly............I do so hope everything is ok..................
I just got put in my place by my 10 year old granddaughter..........she was down here the first week of August..............I had deveined a strep leaf (spiritual corridor) and just got my first baby a few days ago..........i see one more today.................
She called to tell me she had babies up and down both leaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is going to send me a picture when she can talk her mom into taking one and send it to me...............I simply cannot believe she has babies everywhere..............
Gail: I do believe your Dear Grandaughter has inherited your Green Thumb! Tell her Congratulations from someone who couldn't even root a leaf of that plant!
Lin, she brought some of her avs and other things she had stuck when she was here........remember I got her the gro lights from wally world and the lights only were 24" across with one bulb..............she is actually doing a better job than I am................no one helps her at home as her mother wouldn't touch a plant anyway..............
She showed me last weekend the av leaves that are showing ears already..............I am dumbfounded................
Gail: That is wonderful ... and 10 years old?! Maybe she will take some photo's and let you post them? I would love to see her efforts! Tell her that your gardening friends here on DG are real proud of her!
Sounds like your grand daughter is going to be a natural Gail! How cool is that? I'm jealous!
I raised the miniature dachshunds Snowrose, but they were the smooth coated ones. I gave more of them away than I ever sold! But that's OK because I still get to see the pups (which are now grown dogs) when I visit my kids or my aunt or my brother or..... LOL When it was time to get a new puppy I did go with a poodle this last time. I was raised with them and had a hankering for another! She is a sweetheart too!
I thought that King of Kings was about at it's limit with leaf size, your saying it will get even bigger?? And I have Blue Mars too! Maybe DH better not get his hopes up about ever having the dining room table back to eat on!! LOL
Thanks Drinnian! I thought that boy was the cutest thing to come down the pike and he is now a handsome (nearly) 10
year old!! You can tell by him pointing his finger at me while I was taking that picture that he was full of personality too!! LOL
According to the delivery confirmation I was watching the plants I sent from Brennan's were delivered to Starfly at about 11:30 this morning, but I'm sure that means they could just be sitting on her porch or wherever she has her packages set... Hope not though!
~Brenda
Bemedel...that King of Kings is still a young plant. Just you wait and see. I wish I still had (or could find) my photo showing the width of one leaf of over 9". Yes, the width not the length. It was enormous. I remember showing it to begoniacrazi.
I can understand about giving the pups away as I'm sure you would rather know where they are going and to a good home. I have had poodles and loved them. Highly intelligent and intuitive.
The same predicament here with starfly. I am concerned about her first and foremost but if boxes are outside in the Florida heat for any length of time...that's the end of the contents. Hopefully she has someone to bring in her mail at least.
Gail - who knows where this will lead in your granddaughter's life. The time you spent with her, guiding her with plants and now her success. That's wonderful.
I am calling my daughter tomorrow to take a pic..............she has been waiting on her lense from Nikon.............a niece of hers (just a 3 year old) picked up the camera and threw it down on the hardwood floor...............hope she has it fixed by now............anxious to see the babies...........
I have a feeling Starfly went back to Jacksonville to see her brother. I remember her posting that he was in the hospital and they had to make a rush trip up there a week or so ago. I thought she said he wasn't doing real well .... hopefully everything is okay and maybe her computer is just down. Gremlins ocassionally get in my computer and it's annoying.
I have a card addressed and ready to go out to her in the morning.
New page folks...
