Sept. Bingo Page 4

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Too true! I've printed out the master list as well as my card, and I'm checking calls off as we go along... that way, it's easy to see what answers remain to match up with the latest clue!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Well the idea was to make it a bit more challenging and to see who figured it out first to call bingo. If you all want to let Lin do it than that is okay. I will just post the picks and leave out the rest of it. I just thought it would make it interesting and fun.

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

It is interesting and fun Makshi!! Don't stop the clues! We were all curious as to what we had but I agree with what Jill said above............

"Oh dear, don't make Lin do all that work! With Makshi posting the answers after a day or two, it's not that hard to keep track... if you're not sure of a guess, mark it with a "?" and then check it off once the answer is posted.

With other ways we've played Bingo, the winner is the person who posts Bingo first, and that often means the person with the fastest fingers... this just adds a little more uncertainty and challenge to the very end of the game, trying to figure out if the final call that you need is the answer to the latest riddle."

So we'll play nice and just discuss the clues here and have a lot of fun at the end wondering if we really do have bingo!!
Well there's my two cents worth anyway.....LOL

I'm sorry, makshi, I didn't mean to start something I shouldn't have. I won't ask Lin anymore. :o)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I have seven so far...

I'm sorry I won't be posting much for a while. My cable at home got turned off, so I will only be able to check my mail, briefly, from work M-F.

Hopefully, it won't be long. Just one more "bump in the road"...

(sure wish they'd pave that sucker...)

Karen

(Zone 1)

Uh oh .... I'm Sorry :(

Makshi, please forgive me .... you volunteered to be moderator of this game, so we should stick to the rules set forth at the beginning.

..... I promise to play nice from now on!

Makshi, please don't be upset with us ... with 26 of us here we can be a little unruly at times ..... ya just need to holler at us once in awhile .... and keep us in line!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

LOL......nay nay nay boo boo...you all got in trouble...hehehehhe

I love this game!!! This is too much fun! Keep those CLUES and CALLS coming Diane...

Someone is sure to BINGO soon! I only need a few more myself!!!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

ANNOUNCEMENT: Snowrose used a neighbor's computer to ask me to tell everyone her new pup chewed up some cord on her computer...................she has to get it from Dell (good luck)................bemedel.................would you ask Lin for her bingo card and watch it, please.....................i would do it but i rarely know the answers..........isn't fair to Snow...........
She indicated that she had no idea how long she would be without a computer..............

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

GOOD to know she is doing okay and nothing more serious is going on!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'd be happy to watch Snow's card! Hopefully she'll be up and running again before the end of the game. I've got her phone number, and I just left her a message about it...

Lin, I think checking halfway through to see that everybody's tallies matched was fine... hopefully now we're all in the swing of things!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

thanks, Critter.................

(Zone 1)

Critter: Thank you for watching Snow's card while her computer is down! I d-mailed you with what is remaining on her card!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Lin, if Brenda dmails you, would you tell her Critter is watching for Snow's card..........thanks

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I got it! This will be fun... although I've got a ways to go before I'm like one of those hawk-eyed gals riveted to the 6 or 8 Bingo cards spread in front of them... heaven help anyone who breaks their concentration!

(Zone 1)

:) There was an elderly lady who used to live across the street from us. She talked me into going to Bingo with her one time ... I was shocked. Here she is 80 years old, working 4 cards of her own AND helping me with my one cause I wasn't fast enough. I laughed so hard .... it was really a hoot watching those older folks! Some are really cut throat when it comes to their games too! My style is more like on this forum with the chatter and fun!

Yes Gail, if I hear from Brenda I will let her know that Critter is "watching" Snow's card. Of course, Brenda will probably read it here.

(Zone 1)

Just got to thinking: I've heard the excuse "My dog ate my homework" .... hee hee, but never that the dog ate the computer cable! :)

Oh, how much fun are puppies!! I would love to have one!

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

I read all the way to the end before d-mailing Lin about Snows card so I'm all caught up!

Janet you are too funny nay nay naying us bad girls! Was your tongue out and your fingers in your ears too?? I'm picturing it! LOL

~Brenda

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Brenda................Lin will tell you that Critter said she would watch it....................

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh YEAH!!! LOL FULL...... NAY NAY NAY BOO BOO!

I wouldn't do it anyother way!

El Paso, TX(Zone 8a)

Diane, I have to say I think this is so much fun! I don't know about ya'll, but I love riddles. Sorry I haven't been posting much. Been checking in when I could, but between work and trying to shake this darn flu, I've been pretty lax about posting on all the threads. Gail, backing up a little to say those plants you got are gorgeous! I've been thinking about ordering a couple of streps. Not that I've become completely addicted to gessies or anything... wouldn't want anyone to think that. LOL

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

LOL I hope you are feeling a bit better! Take care of yourself and get plenty of liquids and rest!

El Paso, TX(Zone 8a)

Feeling much better...thanks! I've decided I've used up sick quota for the next few years. :o) Plus, I don't think a person can help but feel better after checking in on the AV forum... especially the BINGO page. Such great people here!!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I'll agree with that one!

Eunice...are you here? I haven't heard from you lately...is that tooth okay?

(Zone 1)

Drinnian: Sorry to hear you've been down with the flu! That's no fun at all! I'm glad to hear you are doing much better ... just take good care of yourself and like Janet said, drink lots and lots of liquids and get a lot of rest ... very important when your resistance is low, you don't want a relapse.

Haven't seen Starfly/Eunice post in awhile and I'm wondering how Rose318/Patti is. It's really been a long time since she's posted. I hope they are both okay.

Has anyone noticed that there are a few of us on here who are chatty and a lot who aren't much at all?? Well, I was very shy as a child and even as a young adult. I didn't come out of my shell really until my late 20's - early 30's! For years, I wouldn't speak unless spoken to, very shy and reserved! Hard to believe, huh? My husband is the more reserved one in this family .... and that really surprises me since he is a teacher! That old saying "I never met a stranger" really fits me.

I agree with Drinnian .... I think the past two Bingo games have been a lot of fun! I'm not even playing this time but I get a kick out of the riddles too. It gives a little "twist" to the game and makes us all think! Of course I LOVE having the link to the photo's of all the calls too! Just makes my wish list so much longer!

Well, gotta go - I made 3 dozen muffins for hubby to take to work tomorrow and I need to get them out of the pans and packed up!

I won't be on line tomorrow until probably early evening sometime. I am meeting with some ladies in the morning with our local Soldier's Angel's group. We are making Christmas Stockings and stuffing them to send to soldiers in Iraq. A great cause!

Hope you all have a great night and a sunshiny, happy day tomorrow!

Lin

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Lin, Patti's computer is down, but she is fine...

(Zone 1)

Thanks Janet! So glad she is okay!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

me too! I am a little worried about Eunice/Starfly though. I haven't seen her post lately...and she had a bad tooth and so much other "stuff" going on.....Gail, have you talked to her lately?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Snowrose sent her a dmail concerned about a big plant she had put in the mail on Monday............no reply...........

I sent her a dmail a couple of days ago..............no reply.............we are worried about her or maybe her husband.................

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Gail... how close did "Humberto" come to where she lives? I know it had to be pretty close.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

This is Makshi son. She is ill with an infection in her lung and is on steroids and antibiotic. I will be posting the calls today and maybe she can tomorrow.

Oh, phooey! Praying hard for a quick recovery and sending big (gentle) hugs...

Thanks for letting us know. Please tell her not to worry about the Bingo calls... there are lots of days left in September for this game!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I am so sorry for Makshi.............such a sweetheat................nice of you to pick up where she left off...................give her our love, please...........

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Good morning all! I am back in bizness again thanks to purchasing a universal power cord and I was fortunately able to bypass Dell completely. I talked to Critter this am and thanked her for offering to watch my Bingo card. I asked her if she ever noticed that Dell rhymes with another 4 letter word ? The computer works great but customer service is the pits.

I am worried about starfly also. Where is she? She's not answering dmails.

Have a good day, Lin, and bless you for what you are doing in the Soldiers Angels group.

Thanks, Gail, for posting about my computer dilemna but it all worked out well and quickly.

Becky...the little troublemaker.

OH! Those sweet big brown eyes just melted me on the spot! Thanks for the photo, Snow.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

glad to see you back..............Snowrose....................I am still working on Pixamo photo thing.................while pics are uploading I water and groom plants in the same room with me....................

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Such a sweet face Snow. Now how could anyone stay mad at her....

Makshi, you take care of yourself..hope you are feeling better soon!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Praying for you Diane, and hoping you get well soon. To makshi's son, thank you for helping her out!

Snowrose... how could anything with eyes like that be capable of chewing your cord??? LOL!!! She almost looks like she's going to cry, saying, "But I didn't do it Mommy!"

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Makshi ...Good thoughts your way for a speedy recovery. We will miss you. Till then, concentrate on getting well and getting back here very soon.

Becky is my new mini longhaired dachshund puppy. She is without a doubt the dearest sweetest little thing. Aside from her recent cord chewing episode, she couldn't be better (especially when she's asleep ;-) What a loving and precious puppy she is.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

was she just a baby when you got her, Snowrose, or has she been trained to some extent? I just can't train a puppy...............'kinda' like my own children when they were younger (LOL) I am just not a consistent person..............

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Diane you've got a very good DS there to help you out with bingo!! Now get well soon!

I too have a box that should be arriving on Starflys doorstep today or tomorrow so I sure hope she is OK!!

Glad your back with us in such a short time Snowrose! I knew I recognized Becky as a little dachshund, I raised them for awhile and they are some of the cutest puppies ever! Here is a picture from a lot of years ago with my grandson holding one of the puppies, (he's in the fourth grade now!) they were the best puppies ever as he played with them so much that people were thrilled to get them and have them be such little lovers..
