Pictures to share!

We all love pictures, so here are some of mine! :o)

An Episcia bloom about to open. I think this is E. 'Grey Lady' but I can't remember for sure. It is the brightest most vivid orange color! Catches my eye every time I walk by! :o)

I am utterly fascinated by Sinningia pusilla! I can't help it! It is such a tiny little plant, but the flowers are so big in comparison and it bloom so freely! Look how little it is, yet it has 4 blooms! Granted, 2 are pretty much spent, but I still think it's so pretty!

Thumbnail by RainGazer

A top view to show you just how small the plant itself is. Amazing! Note that there are two more tiny buds forming right in the center. :o)

more, please..............great.............

'Lucky Ladybug' again. I'm sure y'all are sick of seeing this one, but I can't help it. She just keeps putting up more and more blooms and the first ones aren't even faded yet!

I'm not sick of her................I want a leaf, please!!!!!!!!! not teasing.........

Here are some leaves from the very first box Gail ever sent me. Let me see when that was... Late April, I think. Anyway, they're growing quite well! Beautiful foliage!

Thumbnail by RainGazer

You know I'll send leaves of her and any of the others you want to you! :o) Isn't she the prettiest red? Love it! :o)

Here's a tray of Strep and Chirita leaves, which were sent to me by Gail and Brenda. I got Brenda's a bit after Gail's so I don't have babies from those yet, but I will! :o)

oh my goodness...........look at that chirita grow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I potted it up! I probably should have waited a bit longer, but I couldn't! LOL I can't find the pictures of them potted up! Blast! Hang on and I'll go snap them real quick. I'll be right back...

Here's Chirita 'Aiko' Wouldn't you know it...I broke off the big leaf on the other side of the plant. Grrr... The other two little ones came off the mom leaf with this one, so I put them in there, too. There are still some babies with the mom leaf, too!

Here's Strep. Bristol's Gumdrop

These leaves were all put down on June 1st. I'm really amazed at how quickly they've grown!

Strep. Dibley's Ruby

This one looks to have the tiniest little bud forming on that largest back leaf. I can't tell for absolute certain, and can't get a clear picture of it, but I'm watching it to see if that's really what it is!

Oh, I'm Loving all of your photo's!! I've never seen 'Lucky Ladybug' before .... she is pretty!

I am soooo impressed with all your leaves with the babies! I put down 4 leaves from Chirita 'Aiko' awhile back and they've rooted cause when I tug on them I can tell .... but no little ears popping up yet!

Aaaaah .... That Episcia is just Beautiful! I love that vivid orange flower!

.... and, oh I sure can't forget the Sinn. pusilla .... you gave me one of those and it's one of my very favorite plants! I can't get over how teensy it is and it puts out those pretty little flowers!

Keep those pic's coming!

Thank you, Lin! I get tickled at myself sometimes, because I'm just impressed and amazed by these plants. They absolutely fascinate me! I'd love to see a picture of your Sinn. pusilla! And you've got some fabulous plants, too, I know! I'd love to see pictures of all of them! How's that Chirita 'Little Dragon' doing for you?

Here's Chirita 'Aiko' - the mom leaf with the babies she's still got after I removed those pictured above. She's on the right and on the left is Chirita 'Kazu'. Those are growing a bit slower, so I haven't potted any up yet.

Episcia 'Country Kitten' Isn't it adorable? You sent me this one, Gail. :o)

Amy, you have done a great job with those chirita leaves and you have kept epicias alive...........come on, fess up..............did any of those giant big main stem cuttings ever root for you..........they came my way through a trade with Snow...................

I have three left. Two of them, I'm just hoping to keep alive long enough to get stolons off of them. They just had a bad trip, getting lost, and in all that heat, and the box looking like the Samsonite gorilla had played with it. I certainly don't blame you, it just happened. :o(

I've had to go and retake all the pictures I was going to post. I couldn't find them! I'll be back to posting pictures in just a minute! :o)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

well, I learned a lesson , too........amy................the ones i cut that were almost 10" across have died on me.............cut to much off of them...........some are slowly coming back and others croaked..........

I'm so sorry, Gail! And I feel bad that you cut them to send them to me! :o(

Here's a picture of Strep 'Iced Pink Flamingo' Maybe this will cheer you up! :o)

Hey Brenda! You sent me this one - Strep 'Tractor Beam' I didn't think any of yours had babies yet, because they arrived about a month after Gail's, but look! :o)

I told you my phone would ring off the wall, Gail!! LOL

Sinningia 'Ruffled Wood Nymph'

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Petrocosmea momo

These are taking FOREVER to open! They just keep getting taller and taller! LOL

Nancy, this is the one you sent me that was so sad-looking that you suggested I play Taps for it! It's gotten so big that I don't know how I'm going to get it out of that glass, cut I've got to. Algae is taking over! I don't like that green stuff...

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Chirita 'Silver Surfer'

This was the first time I tried to pollinate a Chirita bloom. I've not ever seen a Chirita seedpod either, so I don't know if this really is one or not.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

Gail, here are 'Trail Along' on the left, and 'Ramblin' Spots' on the right. See how they've grown! :o)

Kohleria 'Gun Smoke' and a Sinningia that I think is 'Flirt'

Rain.......................gee the streps are awesome..................that did make me very happy!!!!!!!!!!! And your trailing leaves are getting bigger and bigger............

(Zone 1)

Amy ... I so envy you and other's growing .... you really do have the "touch" with Gessies!

That Sinn. Ruffled Wood Nymph is Beautiful ... that's not tiny like the pusilla? How big will it get? I just adore that one!

That looks like a Chirita seed pod to me! Are Chirita seeds real tiny, or do you know? I've seen what looks like seed pods on two of my Chirita's but they seem to shrivel up and I haven't found seeds yet. I put a plastic bag around a couple of pods on C. 'Diane Marie' a month or so ago, but nothing came of it. I'm wondering if the plastic bag caused too much moisture cause I never found seeds. My C. 'Stardust' has been blooming for about a month now and it has what looks like seed pods on it. I sure would love to know how to know for sure and how to collect the seeds.

I can't wait to see the pic's of your Pet. 'Momo' when those blooms open! I have one Petrocosmea ('Barbata') that Rob's sent as a free plant when I ordered something a couple of months ago. It's growing and getting big but no sign of blooms yet. I need to feed it!

Lin, Sinn. 'Ruffled Wood Nymph' is a micromini like S. pusilla. In fact, S. pusilla is a parent of it. Here, you can see a picture of a better, more mature specimen than mine. It also gives the parentage of it. http://www.gesneriads.ca/sinni015.htm I'll go take a picture of mine from the top so you can compare it to the size of S. pusilla.

Here is a top view of it. It's in the same size glass as the S. pusilla, so that gives you an idea of its size. :o)

Thumbnail by RainGazer

I should add, however, that the S. pusilla does get larger than the one in the picture. That one is coming back from dormancy because *someone* forgot to water it! ;o)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Great photos Amy!!!

(Zone 1)

The Flowers on Ruffled Wood Nymph just look so much larger than S. pusilla ... maybe because it's a close up!

I will post another pic of my S. pusilla tomorrow. The big computer in the study is powered down and I'm on my laptop right now, so can't post a pic. I just love that plant .. maybe because it's the first micro mini plant I've ever seen or owned - thanks to your generosity!! I have the Sinn. rio das pedras that Jannich sent me .... doing good but no blooms yet. I am just loving the micro mini's. which strikes me as funny cause I never was drawn to the mini AV's.

Thank you, Karen! :o)

I can't wait to see a picture of your S. pusilla! And please send one of the 'Rio' too. I love the little serrated edges of that one! I've got seedlings of it! Yay!! S. 'White Sprite' won't germinate for me, though, and I'm so disappointed! (Anyone have an extra 'White Sprite'? LOL)

The flowers of 'RWN' are larger than S. pusilla, as well as just "fuller" looking, if that makes sense. I put the two glasses side by side to get a couple comparison pictures for you. Here they are from the front.

Thumbnail by RainGazer

These microminis are simply the best, in my opinion. They are so tiny, you wouldn't expect anything from them, then they put out these flowers that are just huge in comparison with the whole plant. They're fabulous, and some of my very favorites.

It is literally all I can do to contain myself until S. 'Little Venus' blooms. I've had that as my desktop background ever since Ki posted that picture. I can't stand the waiting!!! LOL

Here are S. 'RWN' (left) and S. pusilla (right) from the side. You can really see the differences in this one.

I sent a 'White Sprite' in a trade a long time ago................but you will have to do your homework to find out who and if it is still living.....................

********good pics !
