Hey look! As I was tearing myself away from the computer so I don't go plant shopping... I noticed that Chirita 'Silver Surfer' has bloomed!! :o)

Here's a closeup of the bloom. It's a little folded at the top, but this is its first bloom, so maybe that will straighten out in the next blooms. I still think it's pretty! :o)

Karen, I'm sure you saw that 'Spin Art' is a 2007 introduction from David Thompson. It might not be available yet, but I bet it will show up soon. It is more than likely the pain pills and not humor. I hurt my back and I need a very large heat patch.

I'm sorry about your back makshi! I can certainly sympathize with you. I injured my back seven months ago, and I am now permanently disabled. Hope yours gets better real soon!

Oh, ouch! Rose, I knew you were battling but didn't realize it had been deemed a permanent disability -- sure hope that prognosis will be proved wrong, or at least that the degree of trouble will diminish with time & treatment. And Makshi, you sure didn't need a back injury to deal with on top of it all. Oof! My sympathies to both of you, and prayers for recovery and relief from pain. *big (gentle) hugs*

I think I'm done with trying to keep Strep's! I have had no luck at all. My one Dibley's Gwen was the only one that did well for me and bloomed all the time .... but, when I got back home from being gone 8 days it was dead along with two other teeny ones that had not been doing well since I got them. Strep's are such Gorgeous plants but unfortunately they don't seem to like me or my house very much! Aaaaah ..... but I will at least be able to enjoy some of y'all's photo's of these Beauties!

I have spiritual corridor but she now will only have 2 leaves after I make a trade on Monday........(LOL)...........everyone wants her as she is soooo pretty.............I have to give her time to put on some more leaves............
She doesn't have enough energy to bloom...................laffin'

Oh Gail, that is so sweet of you but I don't want you to do that ... I know it would not survive. I am just not good with Strep's so I better enjoy them from afar for now!

Lin.............................I think I might have learned something................in one room on the west side of my house I kept all the streps..........they weren't doing well................I read that streps like temps 55 to 75 degrees...............I know that this room gets a lot warmer than 75 in the afternoons....................so I moved them to the only gro light stand on the east side of the house and they are now coming alive.................so the temps play a big part in their being happy.

Guys could you all have fun but at least acknowledge the calls please.

You're sweet, makshi! I just now came to the thread to see what was new and didn't know you had posted a new call til I read your post. It doesn't make the thread appear unread to us unless you make a new post - just editing a post doesn't put it at the top of our homepage. Some people may not know you've posted a new call. Perhaps a quick post of "Today's call is posted!" would help us realize you've posted one. :o)
