North Texas RoundUp - Head Count

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Allright LarissaH we finally get to meet you. Looking forward to it.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Can I come even if I don't have anything to trade? I'd like to see what these things are all about and get ideas for the next one so I can be prepared!

Stephanie

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Of course you can, Stephanie. Just don't be surprised if you go home with plants! I, for one, will be bringing lots of extras and trying to find them good homes. We'll be happy to meet you!
Patricia

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Come and have fun and meet some great people Stephanie!! We always have leftovers and give them away to strangers, would love for you to be the one. You will have things to share next time when they grow!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes Stephanie, you will be very welcome, I hope we will have the biggest group ever.
Josephine.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Came - please come. The first year I helped to put this together I did not have anything to bring but myself and still came home with plants. (I did bring a few odds and ends but nothing great it all fit into one little box)

Granbury, TX(Zone 7b)

I plan to come. Will gladly contribute food - probably poppyseed bread- and money.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Alright Linda is coming!! It will be so good to see you.
Since you had the flood this year and lost many of them, which plants do you need the most?
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Wonderful!! I'll be there, probably with my DH in tow. I'll be happy to help out with food. Yippee!!

Stephanie

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I added a link to the Oklahoma forum (Central I think it is called), Mid South, and the Round Up forum. Who knows who we might have show up!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

I've not read the thread, so I have no idea exactly what's going on (except paying $5) but...count me in!!

Paige

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Good to see ya over here Paige.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Alright Paige, it will be so nice to see you again.
Josephine.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the head's up Mitch! I sure wouldn't have wanted to miss it! Can't wait to see your happy face again Josephine!

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

larissa, how old is your daughter? mine will be 13 by the time this happens.

McKinney, TX(Zone 7b)

I'll be there with my 2 teens depending on their marching band schedule. They have UIL Region marching contest the week before, so it'll be a wait & see. My girls are 16 & 14.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sandy It will be great to see you and your girls. This is going to be a super R.U.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

I have been lurking in the shadows. LOL
Have not really got warmed up except for the awful heat outside.
Looks like this one will be a winner.

Ted

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yea!!! Ted finally surfaced! LOL!! Since your son lives in this area you have no excuse not to join us Ted. It will be good to see you again.

My cannas and castor bean plants are doing great. I just don't have the knack for keeping the coleus alive though. :-(

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Sheila I will show you how to keep them alive until spring.
Keep 32 different ones alive and well last winter. Planted over a 100

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Please do, I love them in the flower beds especially where I don't have a lot of long blooming items. They add so much color. I bought some at Archie's this year but they don't put names on them like you do. LOL!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Same here.. I ahve one little guy I kept for this spring. They are great in the right place.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Bump!!!!

DFW area, TX(Zone 7b)

I'm coming for sure, and maybe my daughter too.
Heck - she's coming ! I know how to lay a really good
guilt trip on her, LOL.

I'll bring something to eat, plus some cash and gifts,
but I really don't have any plants to trade. Drowned
or just gave up after a long struggle. I'm starting over
next year with natives, plus some lavender and Russian
sage, and keeping it to a minimum. What hasn't drowned
or fried has been devoured by the bag worms this year.

Looking forward to seeing you all in person. :o)

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Count me in!

Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

My wife, Becky, and I are marking our calender. I see no reason why we couldn't chip in on the space rental and bring some food - most likely a banana pudding - unless there is a list somewhere of needed food.

I may try to pot up some cuttings but have never done this kinda thing before and I don't really have anything too exotic.

Carl

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Great Carl, we look forward to meeting you and your wife. There will be a thread later about food.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Great Carl, we would love to meet more new members! As for trading plants, there are always new comers that don't feel they have much to offer. But you would be surprised what others want and we always have plenty to share.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Ooooohhh, banana pudding. Yes please.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

I'm planning on coming not sure if anyone is coming with me right now
will let ya know closer for sure and as to food will see what is needed and go from there once the food thread is going and I think I can swing $5 to help with rental too.

Phyllis

I'll probably be there!

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Great news. We need someone who can draw a crowd. LOL

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Isin't it wonderful? Dave is coming what an honor for us. Now ya'll come and meet him you hear?
Josephine.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

My first swap and I get to meet the man that started it all! YeeHaw!!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Let me second that -- YEEHAW!!!!

Carla

I'm looking forward to it. :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well I just checked the head count and as of now we have 63 people coming and 29 of them are members, the rest family, so it is going to be a great gathering. So come on everybody and meet your fellow DGers.
I reserved the pavilion today so it is ours, I am very excited.
Josephine.
