Everyone just needs to bring useful/desirable items. That way everyone is happy. Add two more heads for me. My sister and BIL will be joining us.
North Texas RoundUp - Head Count
I still think that picking the gift first and then the name is the fair way, even if some people get something they don't need, it is better than getting the leftovers. People can trade with each other if they want.
Right I swaped one of mine with someone who needed it.
Never a problem. It was a lot of fun.
Shelia and Mamajack you are in charge just do what ever you want.
I will be there with $ and maybe my neighbor.
Anna
and no one is going to throw tomatoes at us, right?
let me just see if i understand this.........everyone brings something over and above their swap plants..........and that is what we use for the door prizes?
cocoa......i will dmail you to see how we i can pick up your plants.
sylvia......i will dmail you to see how you want to do this thing.
Usually a garden item like a pair of gloves or cutters or a garden book or any useful small thing, but remember to bring one gift for each person including children, so no one gets left out.
frostweed..........you mean if there are going to be 30 people at this swap that we need to bring 30 different ADDITIONAL items as door prizes? lol. or is everyone supposed to bring one thing for every person that is in their party? for instance, there will be me and maybe my 2 kids so i need to bring 3 things? since i have kids i could bring 2 kid items and 1 adult item. is this what you mean?
Yes, if you have three people coming you bring three gifts, but they don't necessarily have to be children's things, since you don't know what they will win, unless of course you want to have separate door prizes for adults and for children. We could do that too. What do you think?
Mamajack, usually it is general gardening items, which the adults in the family will end up with more than likely. But a youngster may get a tote bag or tool that they really want, you never know. So yes, you bring three small items for your family, and will go home with three or more. If they want to bring little princess gloves, etc., and some adult gets them, I bet they will be willing to trade. LOL!
o.k. i will talk with sylvia to see how she wants to do this. maybe we'll surprise y'all. .
Mamajack, I believe it was Sheila and you that were doing the door prizes, not Sylvia.
Please count me in.
Hey Siggy, was it you that I got the large pot with Crossvine in last year?? If so I will be bringing it.
i know some people have already posted if their kids were coming but if you are bringing kids and haven't said i would like to know and also want to know how old they are. is there a playground where we are going?

I haven't read through it all, so can't answer that question.
Sheila Yes I brought the crossvine. How is it doing?
yes to the playground and they have a nature trail. my son should do fine. lol.
Growing like gangbusters on my back fence, but hasn't bloomed yet. I will bring the large planter back to you this year, thanks for sending it home with me too.
Siggy - the hibiscus lived out aide last fall and is green again this year... no bloom yet but I keep praying...
The Dantura same thing
The mums have been doing great
The little sweet pea plants rotted off in all the rain this year but other then that everything was perfect.
Thankyou sooo much!
tell the kids if they want to dress up for halloween that they can. my kids may think they are too old for this but some of the smaller kids might like to dress up.
Mitch, would your school garden area have need of a Bur Oak seedling?
Carla
sure could!
All trees are more then needed - anything native is needed!
third year in a row that our vacation is on the same weekend. Still looking forward to meeting everyone someday. Have a super time, ya'll.
Oh LouC!!! I am so sorry, I was looking forward to meeting you. Maybe next year we will make it. I sure wish you could come.
Josephine.
Same here.. same here.
Carla, Do you have any more Bur Oak seedlings? I would love some :-)
Cocoa, I wish you could come. I spent alot of my childhood in Grand Saline and really wanted to meet you.
My boyfriend and I will be there!
That is wonderful Siggy... I kept it alive for most of the season but the stem rotted off before it could set seeds.
Mitch, I had about the same luck with my sweet peas. I couldn't keep the aphids off of them. I would spray them every morning with a compost tea/orange oil/soap mixture and when I got home from work they were covered again so I sprayed them again and they were covered the next morning. I think the aphids at my place are some kind of mutants.
I remember the aphids in Waxahachie... they are strong things. I lived there for 4 years late 90s early 00s and then in Italy for a year before moving to Lancaster and then on to here - at least we bought this place only problem is Waxahachie is a much better place to live and we have thought of moving back somewhere near Waxahachie and Italy again.
Siggy, I just might have another Bur Oak seedling. I'll check tonight and if so, it's yours.
Carla
Hello Everybody, I just did a quick count and we have 21 members coming and 42 people total including the members, so it looks like we will have a pretty good crowd. Looking forward to seeing all of you.
Josephine.
I should be coming and bringing my roomate Gina again
O. K. Nada, it will be good to see you and your friend.

I will come. I'll probably be by myself.
I'll check the trade link. Unfortunately, I just got back into town from vacation. Upon my return, I discovered that someone turned off the water in the back, and naturally it was the first week all year that we had NO rain. All my little divisions/cuttings are toast. I'll have to start over.
Didn't something like this happen to me last August????????
Did I mention that Pat's beautiful liatris from last year are in full bloom right now? Gorgeous!
Your liatris are way ahead of mine! They usually don't bloom here until September. I'm pleased that you are enjoying them!
I will come, with my youngest daughter, my only offspring who has any intrest in Mom's garden. :)
We'll contribute to fund and see if I can't russel up some grub...
