Ok, my seeds finally came in today and they are the foundation of the wishmas wreath and about me. The wreath is made out of newly arrived seeds. They came today and I can't wait to get them growing. Teensy, in the middle is me. She is the center of our family. She is reminding me also to stop and smell the roses, which represents her. The seashell and material are self explanatory. I want to go on an island vacation. There was a drink in there also, but didn't look good with Teensy there. The Large leaf of ivy is all things intrusive, taking over my life. I love hostas and before the drought hit my hostas were five times bigger than the ivy. Now that is gone too. The rose is my VERY FIRST FLOWER. I picked it off my mini bush today. It was hard, but a necessary sacrifice. Finally there are gardenias picked from the neighbors bush (I don't get it, why are her's making it). It is my favorite fragrant flower. Had fun just scowering the house. Next time I hope to have real flowers. I am still chuckling.
DG Electronic Floral Show "Getting to Know You"
That's a fun collage Pupil, looks like it was fun making it! Gosh, you have so many seed packets lofs of work to do!!
Good luck. Thanks for joining in our flower show and we look forward to the next installment!!
Terri, that collar arrangement is beautiful; Thank you so musc. Do you grow all of those things or buy some?
You have talent and I will go to the "tell us your secrets" thread to check for YOUR secrets; I might learn something yet.
Pupil - you are going to be one busy planter - what a great selection of seeds! And an imginative introduction. Thanks to you, too; it must have been fun!
Thanks Sookey, I bought all those flowers and the foliage for that one.! But hey. I still have the collar!!!
Did you make the collar? Even if you had flowers from your own garden they would still die eventually :-( I think I have a small wreath that could be used as a collar, maybe. I'll have to give it a try.
So where should I be posting any new things I try?
If I have time I'll try to do something with Harry Lauder (not with the collar) and what ever else is in bloom tomorrow.
Sookey!, I would love you to do one with Harry Lauder. The flower club thread for ' an arrangement with a piece of wood'. That would be great. I hope some others will have time to join in. Karma has set a target for 200 post on this forum this week!!! We had better get busy guys.haha
Pupil, nice wishmas wreath. Looks like a work of art...you must have spent a lot of time on it. I like how it represents a little of everything in your life. Thanks for sharing....you really got the idea behind our "get to know you" theme. Love it.
Thanks Karma,
It was fun doing it. If I had that much fun without flowers, I can't imagine having some. I will go arrangement crazy. I figured not having any flowers and being so new to gardening, this was the best arrangement I could do. It did take a while. lol. I don't know how Terri pumps all those lovely arrangements out!
More later, gotta work,
Traci
Terri pumps out arrangements cos she's still on holiday for another 2 weeks!! Then I'm back to work and you won't
see as much of me!
Terri,
I think you could see your "funflower" image to a poster company..no joke. There are companies that will buy images. Someone on DG has sold pics....I'll come back and link you in if I find him again.
I LOVE it!!!
Connie
Wow Connie, do you really think so? that would be brilliant !
Terri,
I did a cursory look and didn't find the guy who has sold photos....will let you know if I find him later.
Hi everyone, lovely arrangement in the glass vase, Karma, well done and thanks for sharing it with us.
Nice to hear from you terri. Thanks for stopping by to say hi.....and thanks for the nice comments.
I'm lurking! Wow...those pentas are gorgeous!!!!
Hi Connie. Those came from 3 plants I bought in 4" pots. They have grown into little bushes that I continuously trim to get more flowers. No signs of stopping from them yet. Next year, I will probably buy whites and pinks too. I love them.
Just want you all to know how much I enjoy everything on this site, especially this forum! I've dabbled in plants of all kinds, most of my life, [I'm70], and I'm still learning!
I get so engrossed in this, I forget to eat, forget to take my meds, don't sew babyclothes for my new ggd, coming this month! I forget that it's time to go to bed.
In other words, I love it, love it, love it!

Audrey
Hello Audrey and Welcome to cut flowers!
It's lovely to meet you. It would be great if you can join in and tell us something about you with flowers!
Remember to eat and sleep, it's very important. hahaha!
So glad you enjoyed the show, we had a lot of fun with this last summer. Our intention was to keep this theme going,so new flower friends could introduce themselves with their flower arrangements.
We have some 'action' on other threads, but wouldn't it be nice to see all the 'getting to know you' arrangements from..
Diggerettee, Starlight, Marcia, Candee, elle, Mittsy, Weed_woman Steven, and others!
Hi to everyone! Wonder if BDale will be back this summer, eh Karma? LoL!!
'Getting to know you' I love spring flowers!
Well, it's almost "summer" for me (which means I'll be out for the summer, as I'm a Texas high school teacher) so I'll join Terri in welcoming Doe41 to this thread! Hi, Audrey!! I'll be on more in about 2 weeks (make that 3; I'll be going to Maine for a week right after I get out).
audrey, so nice to meet you. I am fairly new to the cut flower threads and am so glad you bumped this one to the top as I hadn't seen it before. Now be careful, we don't want you to miss anything important over the cut designs, but so glad they thrill you as much as they do me.
Connie, a trip to Maine sounds splendid, do you have family there of a vacation spot of your choosing. Can't wait to start making more posey pics.
This is an incredible thread and the arrangements you produce are just magnificent and that's not mentioning how wonderful everyone is here.
Candee
Thank you all for the warm welcome! If I had the flowers I wanted to work with, and the sense to post a pic, it would be with white camellias, huge hydrangia blooms, a few of the leaves,two or three fern fronds, baby's breath, some nice big pink roses, arranged together in a short, wide, pale pink container filled with cut flower oasis with added moss on top of the oasis. Then I'd add two or three tall spikey flowers to perk it up a little more.That should make a nice arrangement! Just like me, nice and fluffy! :}
Doe
Sounds scrumptious Doe. I would be thrilled to just have a few of your white camelias, they are so lovely.
LOL, Haighr! I ssaid, IF! I don't have any of them, only in my imagination! Wouldn't it be beautiful? Sorry, I lied! I DO have the huge pink roses!
Doe
I got the IF, I just meant that if you had them in your mind, I'd like them in my garden, I got you Doe.
OK, Haighr!, Open your mind! Here they come! LOL! :}
Doe
Oh man, I had no idea there were so many. I am not sure I have enough vases to display all of them. Oh, what is that over there, a single yellow rose, that can go in with those fern fronds. What is that bundle you have behind your back, oh I bet that is the camellias, you devil you!
So much fun, so little time!
Welcome Audrey! You and Candee are too cute.
^_^
