Dave's Garden T-Shirts are now for sale Part 2

Parkersburg, WV(Zone 6b)

Hi Chris,

I believe this wiki will explain uber--it's not an acronym so the individual letters don't stand for anything. Unless Dave has made up his own acronym--but I don't think that's the case. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9Cber Whoops! That link didn't work right. Ok, here's my explanation. Uber is a german word which translates to over, above, meta and super. The actual translation depends on context but in English, I think it's most often used to mean super.

Odd, your link didn't lead to Uber.

Kooger beat me!

"über also became a synonym for super; e.g. überleet = supercool"
I like that!

I wanna be an Uber, when I grow up. :-)

I wanna to be an UBER since I first joined this site - a covet position in many a desire, there are many that may not have the time to expend but the few that do are so welcomed as so "the cream of the crop", everyone here is a fantastic person. but the few that have the time and ability to spend hours of each day to enlarge this site need to be recognized
edited too say - If ever a post needed edited it is this one - sorry dave, trish, members. etc.

I can only hope (was gonna say also pray, then I realized that would not fit w/the aup) that I can stay around for awhile.

I have children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. My only thought at this point in time is that they can figure out how to care for themselves. Between you & me I do not see this happening.

If you have children and you "shield" them from the world they are about to embrace, are you truly doing them a service? My last daughter (step) is gone from the home & is she more safe at the collage than she was here?

We love our children, grandchildren, etc, However, what have we taught them?

Thanks all, for the clarification. I really had no idea it was used as an actual word, and not just an acronym for us on DG. I have had to learn a new language on the computor over the last few years otherwise I would be out of the loop with my 4 kids. I thought it was just another one of the kids abbreviations. LOL

Dyson....any of the UBERS I know...."have no extra time"....as they say....if you want something done....ask a BUSY person!! LOL

Now's a good time for you to practice being a UBER....while you are waiting for your medical problem to get better. Hugs Jo

Just an FYI -- just got an e-mail from Zazzle offering free shipping on two or more t-shirts. :) Use the coupon code BACKTOCAMPUS at checkout. Here's the info: http://www.zazzle.com/z.2/.emails/zazzle/seasonal/2007back2campustsmall?sssdmh=dm12.137325

Today I used my DG apron for the first time!!!! It was fun!!!!

Thanks for the coupon info.

I finally got around to making a decision and ordering a couple shirts. I kept filling out an order, then changing my mind and deleting it. Glad I did once, I had not seen the "women" tab!!!
I will have my new shirt at the Dallas swap!!! YEAH! Glad I got two, it might have been worn out by October. LOL!

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

Well, Bad New about the t-shirt which the printer on shirt start to little color fade away... I wash about 10 times and notice some tiny spot missing... From Zazzle.com not good enough to hold and stay longer! I vote for Cafepress... Sorry....

Oh NO! I was just about to order a sweat shirt for the Oct RU. Has anyone else had a bad experience? Please post if you have. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. :)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I ordered a sweatshirt from cafepress and I'm very pleased with it. I didn't order any clothing items from zazzle, so I can't compare clothing quality from each.

Can we still order from cafepress? I wasn't aware that was an option?

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

I wouldn't mind having an iron-on decal if those were made available.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I like the shirt I got from Zazzle, and I'm expecting it to wear out so I can get another one! 101, Zazzle ships SO much faster than cafepress, so if you want to wear it in Oct., nows the time to order. I prefer Zazzle because of the faster shipping and the bigger selection of colors and fits and sizes. But that's just me.

Anyone have any reports on the apron?

Kerrville, TX(Zone 8a)

Terry, what is the process for designing our own shirts, legally :) ? Do the stated companies take custom orders? I would like more bolder colors and perhaps larger lettering, front and back, versus what I have seen at various activities. If there is a link with an explanation, may I be pointed in that direction? Sorry, haven't had time to do much hunting on this subject.
Thanks a lot,
Carol

I'm not able to give legal advice, but I think as long as you don't modify the DG logo, I'm pretty sure you can put it on any ordinary item (clothing, bumper sticker, mug, key chain, etc.)

You'll find a link to the logo under the "Extras" link from your "Home" tab. Download it to your PC and when you go to Zazzle, you can insert it (pretty much like adding a photo to a post here) when you custom-create an item.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Zazzle was where I chose to order a couple of shirts. I didn't pay attention to the "fitted, run small" description however and ended up with shirts that didn't fit. I contacted Zazzle and they immediately sent me a return merchandise number and have communicated with me on a new order. The items I got at first looked very nice and I wouldn't hesitate ordering from them again.
BTW I have heard somewhere that you shouldn't put softener in the water with items that have the iron-on artwork. Don't know if that really effects them or not, but better safe than sorry.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

Our shirts from Zazzle haven't peeled off. There is some very minor fading, but that's it. It's been washed 20 or so times, but no fabric softener, and no dryer for more than 10 mins.

Edited to correct my wonderful grammer ;)

Good idea, Trish. I'll bet line drying except for a few minutes to get the wrinkles out would make them last longer. My mother does that with all her clothes and they seem to last forever!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I am lost!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to that site to order some products..........so I signed in as a member of the Fan Club............thinking it was Dave's fan club............now it says i can't shop because I don't have any favorites...............somebody please just help me to order some things...........I don't have to be original to be a happy camper......................I even gave my birthdate which I think is a dangerous thing to have to do on a public forum.................they wanted my city of birth, too........................help?????????????

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I would just ignore the fan club stuff, go to the link in the very first message in this thread, then click on the products to look at them and order them. You may have to register so that you can place an order, I registered because I wanted to but I don't remember if it was required or not. But that registration is separate from the fanclub and is much simpler.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I was able to go to the site........................I love the Tshirts and bumper stickers..............I would love to have some aprons with Dave's logo on it but not for 19.00 plus 8.00 shipping..................

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Take a deep breath there, Gessiegail. :) If you click the Help link in the upper right corner of Zazzle's front page there, it has a section about how to change your account information. But first -- They request your birthday to make sure you are old enough to use the service, plus for demographic info. The city of birth is a verification question; in case you forget your password, they take you through steps including asking for the username and the e-mail address you registered with. They send you an e-mail with a link, and they ask you to tell them the info you entered, as a means of verification.

Check out their help section. It talks about how to order, all that good stuff. If you lose your place on the site, search for davesgarden and you'll find the DG stuff again. http://www.zazzle.com/pd/find?qs=davesgarden

Any idea if that free shipping for 2 or more shirts deal mentioned earlier in this thread is still good?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

That was over a month ago so my guess would be no, but you can always put that code in when you're checking out and it'll tell you if it's still good or not.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Down at the bottom of that promotion's page it gives the effective dates. It ended August 24. Sites like this frequently offer such specials, so watch pages like http://retailmenot.com for them. Use their search and look for zazzle.com -- you'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
