One of the best colors I've seen yet on this type of purpurea.. this is seed from a trade JWRMO , the color really looks like this and just stands out. It was labeled University Study Seeds

Emma,
I think this is Lady Laura, the heat closes this by the time I go out, hopefully you will recognize it and I'll try to get up earlier.

Gourd, you have a nice variety growing there. Some real beauties and I like them all.
This one has character and is a classic in my view. Great job. TTYL

Antoinette, Love Dracula. In fact, she's way too pretty to be called Dracula.
All of these blooms are gorgeous.

This had been some kind of exciting year for MGs..

The YEAR of the MG 2007

everyone has some pretty special flowers here.

Arlan, that last one is a beaut, no wonder it is called Asagao Dancer
very appropriate name.

Houston, TX

Arlan, those are nice pictures when only the flower is captured like that and the background is dark. That's one of the reason why I take my pictures that way so the beauty of the flower is captured. I also apply Ikebana the Japanese art of arranging flowers when possible. Nice job.

OMG...that Asagao Dancer is killing me..my stomach dropped from that picture!

Houston, TX

II took this pic today inside using a plain white wall as the background. This JMG is Hamafubuki.
Since I have so many plants growing, I cut the vines in order to control them. That way when I'm taking pictures I can apply Ikebana.

No matter what quality camera you are using, you can still take nice pictures, that is if you care. I'm using a 10 year old digital camera with 2.3 pixels. Nothing special there. I try and minimize unrelated objects in the background if possible and focus mainly on the object. Also take time and experiment with your lighting and distance. Most people do. These are tips on taking pictures for those who want to improve on what they post here.

Most of the pictures posted are good but then you may see something and wonder what is being pictured here. But it's all good and no one is getting paid but your work represents you. I'm no expert but I'm sharing what I see and know. LOL.

PS - Don't be a hater life is too short. The picture is Fuji Musume.

Jackie - I really like the all white throat of your red colored yojiro here
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=3711822
put a few seeds aside for me...

Dee - the sepals of this Ipomoea nil
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=3713788
are unusually short...could almost be mistaken for an Ipomoea purpurea...the secondary bracts are typical for Ipomoea nil...

ByndeweedBeth - Nice slightly elongated mid-petal ribs for a subtle touch of 'distinction'...
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=3715334

Arlan - This has really nice 'balance'...

A, your flowers are all fantastic as usual!! I love "Dracula"!!!

Karen this picture http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=3715803 can win a contest!! Love it...

Arlan your "dancers" are so cute, hopefully I'll see some blooms on mine before summers end...

Mesilla Park, NM

Got one seedpod from Dracula..lol the middle to me looks like the eye of Dracula and bruised coloring around the edges with the blue shadow... I love it.. Vampires, aren't they great??

this pod was the one with a reversed tube, so hopefully others on the other MGs will start holding on.

This particular plant has been blooming and blooming and blooming.. it is starting to form pods now and I am so happy.. everyday I check to see who is not going to drop the flowers.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I got so excited about harvesting a pod, that I did not even upload todays photos.. will do that this morning..

Ronnie, you got some nice ones also..

I need to start getting more creative also when I take the photos,, hopefully next week I will have an area to spread out the plants, right now they are in one corner protected from the wind, so each time I photograph, I've got to move each one... it's getting tiring, but hopefully by Thursday or Friday I can move them out, like cattle..lol

A Picotee Blue, from my original set of vines, started indoors in February, and recently transplanted to a larger container on the balcony. I'd heard that morning glories are picky about being transplanted, so I hope that the recent burst of flowering activity is a sign that they like their new home, not that they're dying, and putting a last burst of energy into reproduction. (They're making new leaves too, so I'm hoping for the "liking their new home" scenario).

Nice one Colderwild!!

Mesilla Park, NM

Beth,
I love your Sidney..
Hopefully Plantensis will make some seeds for ya..

Colderwild, wow, I want that one..l'm getting obcessed for Picotee's, every single one that I purchased as a picotee has turned out to be something else.. you are so lucky..

Here are some flowers in the Fuji Musume pot, they are gorgeous in person too.
