Parasitica is making pods.
Some of Ron's seeds
Great pod photos Beth. I never thought about taking photos of the seed pods! Wonderful idea!!!
Maybe I've watched too many horror movies....HAHAHAHAHAH!!! (evil laugh)
Like "The Little Shop of Horrors" or "The Day Of The Triffids" or "Invasion of the Body Snatchers "??? LOL!!!!
Oh! And how could I forget the movie Alien .... where the pod attached to the astronaut's head! EEEEEKKKK!!!

Beth - Nice photos...how about sepal comparisons on the different hederacea...
Very glad to see the I.parasitica making seeds...
Becky - The seedpods of every different species have characteristics that are major keys to identifying the species and so seedpod closeups that provide a clear indication of the overall status of the pedicel, sepals and other features are very(!) valueable reference photos...
Looking forward to seeing some entries of yours in the PlantFiles...

Hi Beth - The sepals on the strain from Hong Kong looks like they will probably recurve back when the seedpod is more developed...similar to the strain that Arlan posted that he collected from Mexico...the local strains can certainly adapt to very local climate conditions...although what functional strategy is served by the sepals curving at different stages in their development is not yet fully clear...
Thought provoking...
