Ron had written Australia on the seed package. This shot shows the size a little better.

This is transvaalensis. Something LOVES to eat these blooms and I have had trouble finding one intact.

I love the plebeia Australia 259!! Although transvaalensis is nice too!!

I'm adding this photo here, too. I'm trying to keep all Ron's seeds and how they do together in one place.

Beth - Can you try to visually clarify what looks like 'tabs' on the lower edge of the I.plebia sepals in the photo here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/ByndeweedBeth_1190388070_619.jpg

This closeup of the Ipomoea hederifolia seedpods here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/ByndeweedBeth_1190388100_836.jpg
will help in differential ID of clesly related species that also have seedpods which remain erect
notice how the seed capsule seems to be like a globe just seated upon a ' fingered palm' with the sepals that are just barely covering the lower portion of the pod...most other very similar species will have sepals that cover more of the seed capsule...every seeming 'little bit' helps to clarify alot...especially when excellent closeup photos are taken to properly document the important ID features...

Really Nice Beth(!)...

TTY,...

Ron

Beth the Parasitica is cool with the thorny look and the I. plebeia Australia 259 is sweet with the touch of pink.

Beth, Great pics. I like the plebeia and the purpureas from Turkey are nice.

I like the wild you posted but can't find the photo now. I think it was from Turkey. Maybe you posted it on Emma's post.

This is a wild nil from Iran. It is making a lot of seeds and maybe it will be okay with Ron if I send some.

Hi Beth - So glad to see the different species that are doing so well with you...

Nice reference photos of the following:

Calystegia leaf comparison
Ipomoea wrightii
Ipomoea platensis
Ipomoea transvaalensis

all look good to go in the PF's if you havent already done so....

You can share seeds of the Ipomoea nil from Iran if there is a good amount to go around...

TTY,...
