Mad Hatters: show us your favorite hat(s)

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

This is my favorite, I don't have the heart to discard it, even though it needs to be. I love, the wide, downward brim on it. A find at my local True Value store.

Evidence that it's time to replace it. Or do you think I could squeeze another season out of it?????

I found this cute little thang this weekend at my local Tuesday Morning. Doesn't take a lot of space, fits in your purse or in your auto door pocket

it's collapsible

FOr $2.99 you won't get much UVA/UVH protection, but should be sufficient for a quick jaunt to the nursery/

Why do you people insist on forcing me to go shopping?! If its not plants its statues, if its not statues its hats!
Ill post a pic of my favorite hat as soon as I can figure out which of my kids stole it this time.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Do you believe we FINALLY got a Tuesday Morning; it opened yesterday.

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Tuesday Morning is one of my favorite stores, the last thing I bought was a set of Egyptian cotton sheets that feel wonderful and have a thread count that is unbelievable, I think I paid $60 for them for my king sized bed.
Now to go see if my store has any of those hats.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Sticks, I like hats but I have a little head so most of them are not very flattering. When gardening, fashion is not priority one, so I wear whatever I want. Go ahead, show us!

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

OMG, that was funny, you are a hat fanatic. Where do you keep these things; I have a huge WI closet but I still am moving my admitedly few hats all the time because I can't find the perfect place for them. And, how do you keep any hat on at 70?????

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Hat in post #3589172 is what I call the Erica Glasner hat (A Gardener's Diary on HGTV)--my favorite style.

I love your hat styles. In fact, they are the kind that would fit my pin head just fine. GIVE THEM TO ME!!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Nery, is Erika on TV again?

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Sticks, they are absolutely wonderful!!!!!! I'd really like to see a pic of YOU in some of them!!

I have the opposite problem of Vossner - my head is quite large (must be my incredible brain - HA!) so it's hard to find hats that don't just sit on top.

Thought you might get a kick out of this - this photo is from my 60th birthday (almost 3 years ago - eek!) - lots of us in red hats, but not all. I'm in the purple coat with the long blond hair.

Hey Murmur, you're still young, I have a year on you. LOL

Husband will not be seen with me when I wear my pink Pith. The rose is only a silk one and I put it there when I had to dress it up one time. It is so cool (temperature wise) that I love it.

Wow Sticks you've got some really pretty hats there! I have my old standby straw that's almost worn out. Dh's old western style straw that is so grungy! I do have a nice clean denim hat that I like for cooler weather.

Here are my old down and dirty work hats.

ardesia...i don't know how they stay on at 70 mph....but they do or they don't get worn....; as for keeping them...i keep them in hat boxes....is sort of a pain...but i caint do without my hats!!!

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

voss....i will have to keep erica glassner's show in mind....i love watching others wear hats especially if they are great hats....

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

murmur...i like the hat picture....i thought it was a garden tea party...:)

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

dancey....my down and dirty hat is a visor that is sweaty and filthy...but it soaks up the sweat....or should i say ....glow:)

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

ardesia, according to my Tivo thing, erica glassner is on once a week on wednesdays. Those idiots on HGTV re-arrange their programming every other day and you just never now. There's a thread in the discussion forum somewhere on this topic. I sent them a nastygram (email) and told them I was sick of the real estate stuff.

It doesn't bother me that much, but I am PMSing and they seemed just as good a target as any other to growl at this month.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

voss dont you just hate the pmsing ?? ya think you are going crazy only to find it is not that it is really pmsing:)

Sticks, it was indeed kind of a garden tea party - the property (not mine) had been clear cut and I was devastated to have to look at it. So to commemorate my birthday that year I invited a lot of friends and relatives to lunch. All females except for my dad, brother, and husband. After we ate, we went to the nasty property and I had a little cup of wildflower seed for everyone and places for each person to go, marked with children's pinwheels - we all sowed the seed to the soundtrack from "The Sound of Music." Best birthday I ever had!

Unfortunately, the thistle and the stinging nettles took over the whole 20 acres so it wasn't the success I had planned, but every once in awhile I spot a wildflower here and there and it brings a big smile to my face (and my heart)!

It's hard to see much in this picture, but I think you get the idea. The property is now for sale, but happily is zoned for only one house per five acres so we won't have a wall-to-wall community in back of us.

I am loving everyone's hats and their hat stories!
