Where's the pics of all the Caladiums everyone's planted?

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Mine are just dying from thirst! Hoping for cooler weather so the newer ones will flourish!

Hanson, KY(Zone 6a)

Janet,
Mine in my beds are dying also. I have pampered these in these pots and they don't look too good even at that. Bad year with the drought.

I have a watering system in my beds and they are still kinda peekid. But they are hanging in there

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

It really has been awful, and I put SOOOOO MUCH new stuff out there this year...hoping it has a bumper year next year...lol

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Well, My Caladiums are still mostly doing great. This was my first year for them, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. My one problem, these are blooming great but are really having turf wars with the MG planted in this box. LOL

This box they are doing much better. These MG are much better neighbors.

My two large pots are doing great, Also the pots I did for both my Mom and Daughter are just gorgeous. (I'll need to get new pics of those for you) Mom gets so many complements on hers and Jen just had a party at her house and everyone commented on her pots, too.

Oh Holly Ann, you must have a magic way with MGs! I have had to eradicate mine, it not only took over the bed, but the whole small garden. How did you keep that one in check? Is it a specific cultivar that just doesn't go hog wild?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Hyblaean Yes that one is not a real aggressive grower. I think I could have probably trained the larger one better if I could reach it better. These windows are above a raised flower bed and not very handy for me. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=3873963
Here is a shot of the whole pot.

Last one for now. These are my itty bitty ones growing out of a crack in the wall. A small piece of bulb must have fell down there and rooted. Their soooo cute and tiny the largest leaf is just less than 6 inches and the smaller two are only about 3 inches.

Holly,

Your plants look awesome. This might sound stupid but what the heck is a MG?

Morning Glory. LOL

Necedah, WI(Zone 4b)

Thanks HollyAnnS, for the info. I love them, but have yet to find the right cultivar.
Sorry Bill, was just amazed at seeing a MG not taking over, had to know :) The caladiums you sold me rock!! They are amazing- I'll have to get another picture of the pink ones, they aren't hidden behind my ubiquitous garlic chives. :/ I am an invasive plant sanctuary.

Ive been out at the fields quite a bit in the last couple of weeks and they're looking good!!!!!!!!!! I have my fingers and toes crossed in hopes of preventing any hurricanes that could come along and ruin things. If everything goes as planned, I'll have 40 varieties available next year. Plus I'm expanding into some other areas too. You'll know if I do. So far, all my plans are falling into place. Watching the tropics can be a little nerve racking. Thankfully Dean isn't coming anywhere close to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now I know what a MG is :-)

Hi Bill, I'm really enjoying my Caladiums. Here is a couple of shots of the ones up at Moms house. I took the camera along today.

That last one is Gingerland right? I love it..looks like they are very happy!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Yes, I put Fl Cardinal and Gingerland together for these two pots. Mom likes red and I thought the colors would look good against her house. She just loves them and all the neighbors compliment her. She laughs and says all she does is water them.

I got 3 kinds in the first coop and 5 in the second. Here goes.... Mrs Arno Nehrling

My spotted caladium from the zoo is doing nicely.

These were on a markdown at Home Depot. I put them in the self watering bed and they are doing nicely. No name on the pot.

kooger- The white one is Aaron, not Candidum. The un-attractive ones look like a rogue Pink Symphony. I've seen them look like that quite a few times. Sure isn't allot of pink in them. That may change though as the plant matures.

MsMaati- The un-marked one looks like it's Roselight.. I like that spotted one.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Okay, thanks for the correct name. Did the Aarons fraternize with the Candidum?

Lake Placid, FL(Zone 9b)

There are occasions when a tray can be mis-marked or the wrong bulbs end up in the wrong trays. The people that work in the barns are far from rocket scientists if you know what I mean. They're good people, don't get me wrong. Some of them just aren't the sharpest folks in the world..

It was kinda comical when I saw the first Aaron - I had given and sold some to my neighbor and I was admiring her big pot in front of her house. It had green potato vine, and 3 different caladiums. I remarked that that green and white one was kinda pretty and did she have it last year? No, she replied, that's one I got from you. Oops! Chuckled over that! Maybe this fall someone will want to trade some Candidum for Aaron? please? :)

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Caladiums, going toe to toe or root to root with the MG for dominance. I think the MG are winning in this box.

Laugh, but the flowers are so pretty!
I have 2 noids from the mix I bought from Bill. Can anyone tell me what either of these is named?

This is a picture of the you thought might be Scarlet Rose, Bill. Does it still look like that? I ask because I can't find it in Plantfiles and will make an entry with this picture if it is.

Thumbnail by Hyblaean

The first pic(big leaf in center) is Fannie Munson, sometimes the leaves will develop a green margin like yours are doing. The second pic looks like it's Pink Beauty. I don't think the third one is Scarlet Rose, I'm not quite sure now. I will show the pic to a grower friend and see if she can identify it. I'll show her pic #2 also. I know for a fact though that pic #1 is Fannie Munson. Some of the varieties are so close in resemblence that it can be hard to tell at times.
