Sue, all the ones I've recorded since I rediscovered the show was still on have been reruns. I think they were all from 2005. You can bring up the entire listing of all the programs ever done, and there are a lot of them; I wouldn't mind seeing them all over again. It was only about a month ago that I realized AGD was still on because I'd missed it at that time of day.
Btw, for interested quilters, the quilting show is now seen only online. I'm not a quilter, but I really enjoyed that show.
There is one other couple on HGTV who are actually more saccharine than the Room by Room duo. I think the show is called Creative Juices, and it's on right before the 8:00 show. I've only seen the very last sign-off segment which was on my recordings of AGD. The woman has a pasted-on smile and looks like she's dressed for a few decades back. Even her hair-dos are weird; the other day she had long curls. I think I'm going to have to watch it one day just to confirm my suspicion that this pair is making tacky crafts. It bugs me that this show is evidently still on every day, while Erica Glasner is seen only once a week now. Yep, I'm going to put my two cents' worth in to HGTV. I'm glad that other DGers have, too.
Gardener's Diary is back on HGTV
don't bother. I can tell you for a FACT that their stuff is pretty tacky and useless. And you are right, they are worse than the RBR people, lol.
I like the ones that's out of Minn., Decorating Cents (or is it Sense). Sometimes they have stuff that's a little out there for my taste but they have a lot of imaginative folk there. My favorite segment is the Trash to Treasure.
Thanks, vossner. You've probably saved me the misery of upchucking. :) On the other hand, it might be good for a few laughs. My husband cracks up every time he sees that redhead at the beginning of the Gardener's Diary recordings. His comment the first time he ever saw that pair: "Are those two for real?" He also shares our opinion on the Rooms by Goons goons.
I have gone mostly to CreateTV, only watch DIY for a couple a shows...Simply Quilts is still on M-W-F...It's getting where there is nothing worth watching on TV and you can't sit in front of computer and watch all this stuff...Instead of revamping the programs, they should revamp the folks that run them.
Room by room goons, LOL!
Out of 100 projects on Creative Juice, I might find one or two
that I would actually recreate. The show would have been an absolute
hit in the 70's, but many of the projects are outdated and rather, well,
how shall we say, stuff that will likely end up in the trash quickly.
(hangs head in shame for saying that, but that is how I feel)
Then there is the "Look what I did" show, which is great, but seems
to focus on folks who have creativity with the funds to make ideas come
to life. Yeah, give me a plasma cutter and a high dollar kiln and we'll
see what we can do, too! ;-)
Crafters Coast to Coast is another show that features common folks
with ideas, but all too often vague with instructions. Even though the website
provides instruction, they typically don't suggest name brands, which can
often be a big factor in project success.
"Just squirt a little adhesive" is quite broad.
