Ok, I'm committed, I'm having a potluck here in Rancho Cucamonga in July. Help me pick the best Saturday for everyone. Arlene, Saturdays just work better for me, please, please try to make it. I know it's a busy week for you. I going to pick up some misters so we don't bake on the patio. Let me know about the date and we'll go from there. I hope all can make it.
PLEASE CHECK MY RECENT POST FOR UPDATE ON DATE, TIME AND CONTACT NUMBER.

Potluck at Weegy's July 14, 2007!
Any Saturday in July will be just fine with Sue and myself.
Yea! Will let you know this week which Saturday it is. No need for a food thread on this one...bring what your little hearts desire. No theme, just a cool potluck. Gotta make it easy on Weegy!
Good to see you yesterday George and Sue.
Any Saturday in July is good for me.
Ok, will post this week with a definite date.
Looks like any Saturday is OK, Louise.
Yea!
Can I come?
YES!!!! Even though my dad was a Marine, I still like you!!! Everybody's welcome.
Woo hoo Kathleen! Is that like your view in the background??!!!? I'm jealous.
Sorry, Louise,
I'll be here the week end of the 21st but Saturday I will be in Newport Beach from 9 AM until 3 PM. We have to do the burial at sea thing for Grandma.
Another time . . . I'm sure there will be more cause we can't wait another whole year to see each other.
I will give the granular bug stuff for you to Mike. He is coming by tonight and he can bring it to you in July. I totally forgot about the stuff on Sat.
That's ok Arlene, if you get done any earlier, I'm sure there will still be people here.
Ok, everyone, the official date is July 14th. Sound good? Shall we say around noonish? Let me know how that works for all. Bring whatever you'd like. I'll make a main course thingy, I'm thinking da bomb lasagna! Yippeee, I'm having a party.
Don, where are you , can you and Pam come? All are welcome.
I am going to make my famous German Apple cake with cream cheese frosting. I can make that a day or two ahead and then recover before the party.
Oh my God George. That sounds delectable! Thank you. I'll provide the garlic bread, and water. Homemade wine of course. I won't forget it because I live here and it's here!
Thanks for coming. Anyone else joining us?
Geez could you all not live closer. I am already starving just reading about the lasagna and that cake!!! (George would you share the recipe? Please)

I posted one version a few years ago http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/452694/
Thank you. Alhough I still would really like to be there to meet Louise in person.
You'll just have to move to Cally girls! Marie, Rodica didn't make the RU. Have you heard from her?
Yes I have. She will be seeing you while she is in California next week on vacation :o)
Yippppeeeee! Thanks Marie. Ok, I'm giving you plenty of notice for this potluck...we would love to have you here and finally meet. Please, please, please Marie.
I am so there! I'm not much of a cook but nothing goes better with Lasagana then a salad, that should be right up my alley! This sounds fun, I'm super excited!
I won't be there but I will be thinking fondly of you all. Speaking of food . . . who brought that wonderful salad? I know what went in it because I cut the avocados for her but I would like to know what she used for the dressing. I am now CRAVING that salad and can't make it until I know what dressing. Guess I'll go post somewhere else and inquire.
(((Hugs)))
Wow, where have I been for the last 2 days??? MIA and trying to catch up with normal life again after the big RU. lol
I will be there for sure Louise!! I think all RU's are magnets to me. Can't miss any, unless there is an emergency.
How about I bring a nice Antipasto platter? Is that acceptable?
I look forward to seeing you all again. :-)
Donna
Louise,
What view? You mean the highway? lol
Next time I'll tilt the camera up so you can see the hills across the river valley. :-) Quickly being covered with $$$$$ houses, but we're enjoying them for now. When they move the highway, it will be bigger, but at least a little farther away. We just ignore it.
K
Let's see.....Modesto to Rancho Cucamonga....goodness me it's only 350 miles....LOLOL. I think it'd be easier for me just to move back to So CA where my friends live! I wonder if there's a train.....
K
(Hi "other" K!!!)

There is a train. I used to take it from Los Angles to Modesto when I was young. I loved it! Of course, I'm sure you're kidding and it probably is not a very feasible thing for you to do, but it would be fun.
Sherry
It all comes down to my work schedule.....I'll seriously look into a train....driving 8 hours twice in 2 days is not recommended.
Now....where'd I put my needlenose....????
K
Donna, anitpasta yes fits in quite well.
Karen, you gotta be here, cmon. I'm sure your dh would understand this is something you cannot miss.
Kathleen, it looked like a nice view to me!
I got your needlenose! You rotten girl!
Needlenose?
Those are my pliers.......I should go look for them....lol.
Pam and I will be there. I do a mean Manicotti, will that help with the whole Italian food theme? Amy, maybe you can park your truck here and drive into Chino with us?
best to you,
don
Manicotti will go just fine with the lasagne. I live in Rancho Cucamonga, the iris garden is in Chino. I am so excited. Who's staying for a fire? We have to entice Arlene here.
I will wait to post directions until the week before as they will get lost in the thread.
I am ssoooooooooo looking forward to this.
Ummmmm, check Karen's pockets for your needlenose. (she did not tell you the story did she??!?!?)
You told me the story as there were two of us sitting at the garden bench when you both came out of the greenhouse.....wink.wink......laughing hysterically.
OMG! how embarrassing, no pun intended!
There goes Weegy with her "Foot in Mouth " disease again...can't take her ANYWHERE !!!
But we always SHOULD take her! Girl, you made me laugh so hard my ribs hurt! So who has the needlenose now? I'm quite sure they made it back to your shop Don! LOLOL
K
Yup, you can dress me up but you can't take me anywhere! You put the needlenose back Karen, no? Or did you intend to save them for the next time?!?!!? Hope you can make it girlfriend.
Ok explain the needlenose story please!!! Weegy I would love to come but doubt I will go anywhere this summer. I just dived head first into school and have classes all summer. Between that and working full time and trying to parent 4 out of 5 kids it does not leave a whole lot of me time. But then again who knows if I can get a great deal on a one day ticket I just may show up!!
Weegy,
Here's the rest of the view - this is where the 76 will be when they move it. We've started a screen of sorts - ironwood trees, big ceanothus, and manzanita. The road will move a little farther away, but the traffic will increase too, so we hope it will help. This is real California chaparral that a lot of people don't like, but we like the semi-remoteness of it.
k
Beautiful Kathleen! Thanks!
Ok, here's the story...I had to go to the restroom really bad, had a few beers in me...Karen
(Kachinagirl) went with me THANK GOD, I had a new pair of capri pants on with the zipper and those metal teeth things that take the place of buttons...ok I'm in the bathroom for 5 minutes, those teeth thingys will not come apart...seems I got the material caught in them somehow...so Karen is done comes out of the port a potty next to me and says "did you leave?" I said "Karen, help I can't get my pants off and I gotta tinkle really bad." Ok, now we're laughing hysterically cuz now Karen can't get my pants off. So she sees the garage open and goes and gets a pair of needlenose, gets my pants off me and now I'm happy!
True story. Wish you all could have been there. Karen is the only woman that has ever gotten my pants off me. I love you Karen! Thanks for saving me and for the great story. Everytime I think of this, I giggle.
I do so hope you can make it Marie, maybe you'll be the second woman to get my pants off me!
