I want to introduce my friend....

Beachwood, OH

I went to the Fairweather site - had forgotten about them. Very mesmerizing to think about all those plants.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Too late to buy from them now but keep them in mind for the Fall.

Beachwood, OH

Oh yeah - thank GOODNESS !! I have to buy one clematis John Treasure from Joycreek and then am taking the trip to Bluestone for the annual sale in 2 weeks. Taking limited cash and a list - its my only chance.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I didn't know Fairweather. looked at the site and have bookmarked for future.

sounds like I've made good choices on the viburnums. here's hoping forestfarm sends good plants.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Forestfarm is highly rated in Watchdog. If you search PlantFiles for the Viburnums, you'll see some photos of mine.

Beachwood, OH

Do you realize that out of 125 posts and 633 views, Land_steward NEVER posted at all? We have done it now, scared somebody completely off of DG.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

L_S We want you, NOW!!. Just say hi and then we'll stop making up stories about you we (I) promise!!! Guess I can't promise for the other comical characters. We do that cause we're ... goofy and immature!! We're all really very harmless, just child-like. That's a photo of me and my grandson - the reason I'm called grammy and he's my pride and joy!

OK, I have to reveal l_s's true identity. By day, he a mild-mannered plant-lover, dedicated to doing my job in the office and making his garden grow, by night he's the latest in a long line of actors to play Batman (Steve Buscemi turned it down). when he sees that batsignal in the sky he has no choice but to go to Gotham City and fight crime. it gets pretty time-consuming.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

ok - now the stories are really going to start gram when a few people read that (won't mention any names)!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ask him for Batgirl's or Catwoman's number, please.

Beachwood, OH

Roooobbbbinnn, oh Roooobbbbbinnnnn

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Andrea, Looking for a ward?
That's the problem with the world these days. No more Wards!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

When is a ward a prize??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

When it's a re-ward?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Give the man a cigar!

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

OMG you guys are too funny. I forgot the Riddler. Riddle me this

How much dirt is in a hole 3 acres square and 200 feet deep? None, because it's a hole

Did you hear about Greta Garbo? She dreamed one night she sprinkled six boxes of grass seed in her hair and woke up moaning "I vant to be a lawn"

( from a website that has a list of all the original Batman jokes and riddles for each episode.) Honestly, don't people have anything better to do - like hang on a garden website?

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

Not realy its 10:00 at night here and I'm tired and besides I heard that snifing flowers is better than glue I don't know for sure just something I heard from an old gardener What do I know I'm old and tierd

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

lol..... ahhhhhh... Batman??? my hero!!!! too bad he doesn't have any weapons against aphids...

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I have an oozing mosquito bite!! :-( I guess it's not a mosquito bite cause they don't ooze - it must be the big PI but only one spot and I can live with it if that's all!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

what a cutie grammy!! The cheeks are the best - good enough to bite!!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Your grandson that is...

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Andrea, those are really bad enough to be funny. somewhere I have a Polaroid of my son at 5 yrs old (he's 38 now) dressed as Robin for Halloween with the BAM! & POW! cartoony type balloons taped to the wall behind him.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

OUCH! I remember now.... Adam West (it just took me all night to remember his name.... my favorite Batman!I used to watch every day when I was growing up...lol!!!!!!!

your grandson is so gorgoeus... look at those blue eyes... ahahhhhhhhhhhhhhh what an angel face!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

omg this thread is just too funny, what were we supposed to be talking about? Oh yeah, welcome to land steward if he's brave enough.
to-sbbsas58 many posts ago....only love the sox when they beat the yankees!
Hockey's only good when you're actually at the game.
Round up worked on the older pi, not the new growth, I'm going to give it another blast.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

watch out folks.....jen's going in!!!!!!!!!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

flowerjen - Victor suggested Brush-B-Gone for pi. I used Round-Up and killed some of it but I had vines on top of the ground so I had to pull them up also. I'm putting a new flower garden in the area and I want the pi gone!!! He also suggested Tecnu to wash the oil off if you get it on your skin. So far I only have a couple of small spots of pi on my skin and that's good for me especially after pulling it up!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just used Brush - B - Gone again on PI and Hops. Incredibly effective. Jen - where have you been??? I was thinking you and LS were somehow linked!! Who doesn't beat the Yankees these days??!!! Hee hee - I'm a Mets fan!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor, I am so glad you are a mets fan!!!!! ok.... I will behave myself!!!!!!! no red sox talk!!!! can't help... I fell in love with Fenway Park first time I went there!!!!

anyway... I am going to use Brush B Gone... tons of it and they are all over one beautiful tree... if I cut the vine and just spray on the vine do you think I will harm the tree???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That should be okay. If necessary, paint it on with a paintbrush.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

good... I love the tree... feel sorry that pi is taking advantage of her!!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Can you use Brush-B-Gone on Red Sox? They are getting far too out of hand this year.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor, My hubby would get along fine with you another Mets fan, but he loved the bleacher seats at Fenway. I'm (whispering) a Phillies fan, shush, don't tell anybody.
Where have I been, when? About the brush b gone, or the fact I haven't posted in awhile???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think the Yankees used Bats -B- Gone a while back. Or maybe Steroids -B- Gone. They should go back to using.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

HHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... of course Brush-B- Gone would NOT work on the Red Soxs... lol.... they trully keep coming back!!!!!!you can try...but they are resilient!!!!

Dave, have you ever been at Fenway??? I love that park... I think is one of the most charming thing in Mass... I love going there...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Kassia, I had the pleasure of catching one game at Fenway. It is a wonderful Park. My barbs to Red Sox fans are just to be silly.

Have you been to the House that Ruth built?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I keep thinking land_steward will show up in thread #2.

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

I wonder if he got scared and ran away to an other place?????
Gloria

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

He's afraid of the dark and the skunk!

There is NO such person!! When will we come to grips with that?? Let's accept it and move on emotionally. Closure is so important in these matters. There are so many more people we can make up. I can start with Roxanne.
