I want to introduce my friend....

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Welcome Roxanne!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Roxanne....is it the same one the songs says "you don't have to turn on the red light" ??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well she kind of doesn't care if it's wrong or if it's right...That's what I love about her.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I knew it had to be her!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor, is Roxanne one of your imaginery alter-egos?

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Maybe we should start a new thread for Roxanne?

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

Hay I know a real Roxanne and to be truthful shes a little strange most of the time!!!!!!!!!lol
Gloria

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Being from NJ I have no fear in standing up and saying " I love the Red Sox (but get rid of those green shirts) and I love the Mets" And I love them even more when they give the spanky to the Yankees. But I have a request....can we please stop referring to brush-b-gone. I have read it as bush-b-gone every single time.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Me too! That's exactly how I read it. lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like to think of Roxanne as a yet to be materialized play friend.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Seandor, I'm not sure if it's political or just bikini season lol.
Victor, maybe you're the one who needs the red light LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee. I didn't make the bikini comment!!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Umm Hmm and Rox will be in a bikini with brush-b-gone. You're a bad, bad boy. You'll be gettin a spankin like the Yanks are getting right now!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

venu is getting frisky!

Remember Steve Martin's Roxanne? Ithink that was Daryl Hannah always thought there was something fishy about her.

Beachwood, OH

Or spacey

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

dave, I have never been to yankee stadium.... the closest I have been to it is when I drove to the airport... it's pretty intimidating to me...

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Man, the people on the NE forum are sharp! I never made the bikini connection either!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Kass, it's Shea Stadium that prompted many NE nightmares until they finally won a few years ago. When I lose a supposedly no-brainer plant, I say it did 'the Bill Buckner'.

Yes, the bikini reference is a great name for a waxing product. I'll have to tell Roxanne about it.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Dave, "something fishy about her" - har, har.

Grammy, I love your skunk picture! They're so pretty. Too bad they're so stinky.

Bush-B-Gone!!! I love it! No more waxing nightmares.

Beachwood, OH

But nobody got the reference to My Stepmother is an Alien - wahhhhh.
Her best picture was Blade Runner in 1982, which was also Harrison Ford's film debut, and with Rutger Hauer. One of my favorite films of all time. I think she did her own stunts in that film and lets just say that girl must have had a lot of gymnastics training. But.... back to plants!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Blade Runner is great - don't like the directors cut though.

Harrison Ford was in Apocalypse Now in 1979 though ;)~ He actually went to school in Ripon College - yes THE Ripon College.LOL near here.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Ok - what's Ripon College known for? (sorry . . . I'm a Canuck from the west coast)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Not much, Rippin Good cookies are made there.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Harrison Ford started way before Apocalypse also. Remember he was in Star Wars in '77. He started in the early 70's. Never heard of Ripon College. One room school??

Beachwood, OH

Well I was dead wrong in that statement - lol. I looked up Mr. Ford and he made a lot of movies before Blade Runner. Lots and lots. sorry bout that

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I was gonna say.... how could anybody forget Star Wars? I remember he did a love story early on too... he was in the military, had a rel'p with a married woman... letssee if I can look it up....

Oh yeah. It was 'Hanover Street', '79. Looks like he did a couple of low key things in the late 60s, then he was in 'American Graffiti' in '73.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Star....Wars???... was that a sci fi?LOL He was Chewbacca I think.

Ripon Colege is pretty small, nice little town, I go through it to my parents house.

Beachwood, OH

Well I was almost right about somebody. Blade Runner was Darryl Hannah's 2nd film, but her first part in de Palma's The Fury was small.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Hey, I have a red light ;0) I always put a red bulb in the back porch light for Christmas and I haven't taken it out yet. you think anybody is getting the wrong idea?

grammy, love the skunk pic, too. just glad it's at your house.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

gram - the skunk is not real! If it was I wouldn't be taking a picture of it! it's in memory of a skunk I buried alive under an old storage shed that used to be there and I filled up the hole while he was in it. Real stinking mess for a whole summer! gram, better take that red light down before business gets too much for you to handle!! LOL the other grammy

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

American Graffiti was Ford's screen debut. He was also an excellent carpenter for the stars before he hit the big time..

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

OK, I'm officially giving up on land_steward ever posting anything. his vacation is over, he's back at work today. no, I will not admit he's imaginary. if I admit it, he will disappear and then I will have no friends at all LOL

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Gram - you still have us. We love you and you can't get rid of us - we're the best next thing to imaginary friends!! the other grammy

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

grammy, you guys are way better than imaginary friends!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Ok... so maybe we should start a thread for imaginary friends????

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oooo, my dream guy. Harrison Ford and good carpentry skills.

Yikes, Grammy! Did you know the skunk was there when you buried him? Poor little guy. Your photo looked real. I guess because it was taken at dusk and you were kinda far away. Cute!

So Land Steward is a no-show, eh? If he only knew what kind of a party was waiting for him here....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I already suggested giving up on LS and discussing other imaginary friends. I started with Roxanne. Now it's everyone else's turn! Harrison Ford, Harper? You like those older guys eh? Anyway, this is supposed to be imaginary!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

As the ultimate in conceit I am my own imaginary friend! In books and films that I enjoy I always invent a character (well, basically the same character . . .) then invent storylines that could plausibly include me . . . I guess this is a variant of talking to yourself - I do that too, occasionally. LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

By the way, Ford's film debut was in a little known movie in 1966 called Dead Heat on a Merry - Go - Round.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yes! I like Harrison Ford. Old or young, he's wonderful. Oh yeah, gotta be imaginary. I have an imaginary friend (eh-hem, man), and that's ALL I'm sayin'!

Michaela, I talk to myself too. I wish my family would stop saying "What?"
