Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Is she metric? What happened to ounce.

I think Austin Powers said it....Allow myself to introduce myself.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Or Groucho: 'Who are you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?" Gram used to be ounce, but she just retired.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

You are all sooo generous - but I must pass on the poison ivy. No room left in the gardens :-)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You're not considered a real gardener until you've gotten the rash - poison ivy that is.

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

I must be a gardener then . been there done that don't want to do it again .
Are you sure gram did 'nt go back to work or just go on a long vacation???
Gloria

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I know the feeling. PI is not fun. Always wakes me up with the itch.

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

Gloria

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The Medrol pack (steroid) helps with the itch. So does Tecnu.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

You all probably thought Kassia was kidding around, but she really was on the phone with me when she posted earlier. she called and asked DH if I was out in the garden somewhere under a rose bush and never coming in, I think. but I was here, not gardening at all, so I got to talk to her. she's so cute...coming to visit me in July and I can't wait to meet her in person :0)

I totally wore myself out yesterday searching for viburnum carlesii and flowering quince (didn't find either) in 90* heat with an ozone warning at a very large nursery. not too bright, huh? I did buy a 'Moondance' rose and a few herbs (Roman chamomile, garlic chives and silver thyme). so all I did today was water the 25+ roses and billion+ seedlings that need planting. I ordered my viburnum (switched to 2 V. dilatatums) and a 'Cameo' flowering quince, and a bunch of other stuff from forestfarm.com

pixie, you still around? forestfarm had 'Jan's Wedding' (a rose pixie found for me) so I ordered one. It's the only place I've seen it, so I couldn't pass it up, could I?

I stayed in, so here's what's blooming inside. gotta keep you all entertained until l_s shows up...keep the faith!

Jan / gram / ounce / dram(?) - which dilatatums. Fairweather is a great source closer to home. They are on my 'A' list. Bought mucho stuff from them over the years.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

So you're a Fairweather friend?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cute! This thread should be renamed 'Say hello to my little friend!!'

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Gram's friend is Pacino? The big P?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You mean ounce. Actually he's only about 5' 4" so he doesn't warrant a big P.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

you're cracking me up here!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

now he'll never come! By the way..who's on first??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This is getting ridiculous! These people who sign up and immediately post links to products. I already alerted administration. Hope Dave can do something. No one should be able to post for some period of time after signing up. This is the third one I've seen in the last 2 weeks.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I think gardening is the best weight loss system, I've already lost grams.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good one Al. But gram lost an imaginary friend. How traumatic must that be! I have an imaginary friend named Inga.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Does your wife know about Inga?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Shhhhhhhhhhh!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

It's never easy when you lose your imaginary friends and have to deal with real people - I'll try to be more sensitive.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So true Al. Amazing how agreeable Inga is.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Is Inga the pseudo-wife #2?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would never use numbers to designate them. That's so demeaning.

Beachwood, OH

Wait a minute, Dave is posting again like he's feeling ok!! Yippeee Dave! So glad you're back to your old self.

I am cracking up at this monologue at the total expense of a guy who hasn't even signed on yet. Poor LS.

In OT news I bought myself a new dwarf Chamaecyparis obtusa today called Tom Golden at the Cleveland Botanical Garden's Garden Show. Its supposed to grow only about and inch or 2 per year and achieve a max height/width of 2-3 ft.
I've just been hunting around the net trying to find it and don't you know - can't find it. I hate it when that happens. Wonder what I bought? Wonder if I should take it back? Wonder if it will get bigger than 2-3 ft ?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Andrea - I don't have any info on that plant for you. I like the OT topic of plants though.LOL

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

And I always thought she was Aly. Hello Andrea!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I know everyone Mr. 47

Beachwood, OH

Hello back to you Sen~ior Dave. I hide behind a-lyrics!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

The job is done!! DH and I attacked the "pi" Saturday afternoon. He held a big plastic garbage bag and I wore gloves and pulled at the starting vine and pulled and pulled and pulled and I think I found L_S !! Found some fresh growing pi that didn't get sprayed. #@>+* everytime a vine broke but was able to get to the root of the problem!! Washed with Tecnu and now the waiting begins to see if I get a reaction and if I got all of it out of my garden!!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

hurray, grammy!!! beat that PI

Victor, V. dilatatum 'Erie' & 'Michael Dodge'. thanks for the tip on Fairweather (although you might have told me before I ordered a bazillion things elsewhere LOL)

Al, am I lost? you'd tell me, wouldn't you?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

grammy, hope you didn't get exposed. I would not have done that. I am so impressed with Brush -B- Gone that I would never pull it out by hand again.

gram, I have the same two from Fairweather!! Actually have three Erie and one Dodge, for pollination. They are great - I really love them. They are all about 7 feet high now. Flowers, berries and Fall colors are great. I have gotten tons of woody stuff from Fairweather, and some perennials, Clematis and Daylilies. I am extremely happy with them. They send big, bushy, healthy stuff - no pathetic twigs and the packing is great.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

victor - I sprayed it also but needed to get rid of the vine because I'm planting a garden in that area. I was just hoping the spray would get to the root of the problem and kill it there.
