Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey...you're lookin pretty good there, Louise !

Beautiful girls !

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

now you can start working on your potluck, no rest for the weary

Ramona, CA(Zone 9b)

Nice photos. Looks like a great day!

Sorry for being misleading in the description of the cheesecake. It has a lemony flavor, but it doesn't include lemon. It is probably the sour cream and cream cheese that give the illusion.

Glad ya'll liked it. Maybe we'll call it: TLeaves' Getting-More-FAMOUS Creamy Lemony Cheesecake without Lemon lol

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

You could make the cake and EAT it in half the time it would take to say the name of it !!! LOL

Absolutely nothing went wrong. Thanks Don.

How great is that?

Events like weddings, when they go smoothly, are just so much fun. And when no hand tools are required.....well, there's a bonus....lol.

At my brother's wedding, he and his bride suggested Marble Cake......that was their first mistake as I went out and bought every marble in southern California, got together with the father of the bride (a Lutheran minister whom conducted the ceremony) and glued them all together in the shape of a wedding cake and then had a professional bakery add the icing. Needless to say the first cut was a very big surprise. Yes, there was a backup pastry....lol.

Note to everyone,

Don't invite drdon to a wedding.....lol.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Is your house back together Don and pam?
did you gain 10 lbs each on leftovers? I would have had to make laps up and down your road for a month after. I thank you for all the help again with lugging plants and stuff, it was more help to me than anyone can imagine.

Hey Don, Many thanks to you and Pam for the most wonderful of all possible times. Can't find words to express how great it was to meet so many neat people. Meeting "THE" Dave was a big bonus. The Ranch hands were swell, big cheer for Onorato. Mary and ZuZu are delightful young ladies aren't they. Hope the window will fit. Best of everything good for you and Pam, and thank you again for a fantastic time at the Roundup.

hiya Robert,

Yep, Honorato is a very good man who's been with us for a good, long time. He likes these roundups as they are also a reflection on his skills in our gardens. I agree that seeing dave again was really huge, and his attendance is just one more example of dave's generosity. Mary just left for home this morning, and yes, she and Zuzu are really great. The window fits perfectly, and I'll show you pics as soon as Carlos and I finish forming the concrete for the new "Pam's Lounge" area where the food was served at the roundup. It will be in the style of a Bedouin sheik's tent. Should be fun to build.

We're both so glad you came and truly jazzed that so many of the people who admire your craftsmanship were able to meet you in person.

best to you always my friend,
don

We'llbe wanting to see pics of the window balvenie created, you know.....

Aha! I did see that one,but didn't know that was the one he did for you and Pam. Beautiful....he's very talented, isn't he?

hiya Sherry,

Waay more than just talented. Robert is a bloody wunderkind! When I was up at his house earlier this month I saw stuff that just made tears come to my eyes they were so absolutely beautiful. He's a true artist of the highest order for sure.

Wow, I missed the window! Love stained glass!

Anna:
I use a mix for the Tabouli, there are several, and several more if you have access to a "health food" supermarket. Fantastic comes to mind, also Near East... anyway, the important thing is to make it up the night before you will be eating it and refrigerate, otherwise tastes powdery... whatever that taste is!

I always add fresh parsley, at least when I am taking to a get-together! Chefs say that flat-leaf parsley has better flavor, but I like the texture of curly parsley, the 'spring' it adds to the salad. You can add up to equal volume to the bulgur wheat (or more, if you want more of a parsley salad!), or follow the suggestions on the package.

Also fresh tomatoes, think I used "grape" tomatoes this time, but I have used Roma instead of salad tomatoes if they are the only ones RED. For this RU I added some other things (to make it more fiesta-like): green onions I know, and cucumber but it was the most tasteless cucumber I've ever had, so I only put it in for the texture. The last two are extra and there are other additions suggested on the package such as MINT LEAVES (which I don't like in my salad) -- but fresh parsley and tomatoes are necessary by me!

This time I made it entirely with my own Meyer lemon juice. Meyer lemons are not as acid as grocery store lemons, so if only have store-lemons, I would use half lemon juice, half Basmati vinegar. And virgin olive oil for the oil (unless you hate it or are out of it, then use 'light' olive oil).

I think that's about it for the tabouli as served. If you add a can of garbanzo beans (rinsed, drained), it is less authentic but more nutritious; a good vegetarian protein course then.

Spin, I love your salad always. Just want to let you know that you wrote "Basmati Vinegar" instead of Balsamic Vinegar above. lol

So, how was your trip to see your mom? Is she feeling better? Are you coming to Weegy's on July 9th?

Yes, Don, weegy's window is beatiful also. Wait till you see it. :-)

>>Just want to let you know that you wrote "Basmati Vinegar"
>> instead of Balsamic Vinegar above.

Guess I was tired! I do like Basmati, as well as Balsamic! And I sure do mix up words that have initial and other letters in common.... (As weegy & wcgypsy can attest!)

We had a great vacation, both with family and the middle week we took the vintage trailer over to Mesa Verde.

Blooms is much better, and her gardens are looking great, saving the effects of repeated drying winds (that make most of our Santa Ana's look like a hand-held hair-dryer!) which singe the heck out of roses and other flowers -- although most of the plants bounce back with her vigilant watering schedule.

I will put 9 July on the calendar (actually, it's already on the calendar, but you know what I mean) and touch base as it gets closer; will try to keep that date available!

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

It's July 14 not July 9...
