New Zealand is very nice place to see all native plants!
3rd Annual So Cal RU May 17, 07, Part 3
I want to go to all of those places! I may have mentioned it before, k,but maybe not...I worked with a woman whose husband was British and he grew up wanting to live in the 'Wild West', he's now a sheriff and they live in Arizona. He's living his 'story'. I have another friend whose younger brother was a troubled youth and didn't seem to fit anywhere. I think he was 14 when he changed his b'day to St. Patrick's Day, wanted Irish Stew for dinner. Quit school at 16, started bussing tables at the Hungry Tiger, saved his money and moved to Ireland, married an Irish girl, became a postman there and has been there now about 37 years. Some people just know where they're supposed to be.
Yes,Cornwall is supposed to be beautiful.
I also know another person from England who traveled everywhere, EVERYWHERE, to see where he wanted to be and he says the U.S. is absolutely the best country in the world. He came here, got on a greyhound bus and went to every state to see it all. It took him 17 years here to get his citizenship. He wouldn't leave for anything.
cool stories. I have to go see Ghost Wisperer now, see ya. Dh is not coming now but DD Alysha is coming with me tomorrow.
So pretty. No ghost whisperer tonight. :(
Dawn, the season finale was last week - unless you're looking for repeats.
Sleep tight everyone, tomorrow is a BIG day. :-)))))))))
Donna
4 more hours!
Morning all. The plants are waiting to go into the car but the teenager is still asleep. This is new for roundup. She has always had me on the road at 7am before. I guess an award ceremony s not worth getting up early for LOL!
See everyone at noon
Janice
Thanks everyone for another great round up! Especially Dr.Don and Pam for having us. I really enjoyed seeing everyone again and for the first time. It was really a great day.
Another GREAT time!! It was so good to see all the ones I had met....and so nice to meet the new ones!!
Don and Pam were the very best hosts......Thanks everyone!! Jo
I can never be a part of these wonderful visits but I always lurk along. I can't wait to see pictures and hear stories.
Today was a blast! Pam and Don... You guys already know you are the best but I'll go ahead and tell you again...YOU ARE THE BEST!
It was good to see everyone and I hope you all had as much fun as I did!
Amy
StellaP, You do need to experience this Wish you could have joined us. It was an exceptional day.
Thanks drdon and Pam, for another great round-up! Your gardens are looking fantabulous and your hosting was supreme as usual.
Thanks to everyone who shared plants - gosh, we came home with a lot! DG people are so eager to share and I love seeing all the different plants everyone is growing.
The food was fantastic as usual - and Eric, that cake! Wow! To anyone who couldn't make it, wait until you see that cake.
Well done, DGers!
Kathleen
K, now I know what forgot to give you.......found the epi cuttings in the car. I'll have to get these to you!
Sherry
Every single person that attended made this a great day for me. There was not enough time to spend with each of you that I would have liked but maybe in the future. I am so interested in getting to know you ALL better. You lead such interesting lives. Consider yourselves hugged from me.
The food was excellent. I think I ate two or three times!
It goes without saying that Donna and Don (& Pam) made this come together smoothly. Good planning!
To wait another year is too long. I will be stay at home in Iowa to enjoy my garden there. But . . . watch out . . . . I will be hosting another garden party at my home in Orange when Fall comes.
Sherry, I found your address in the exchange - I'll send you a SABE. What size? Thanks very much for thinking of me.
k
Arlene, I'll be watching!
K, you don't want to do that...the new postage rates on bubble mailers is outrageous....you can stop by here,or I there when on my way to Home Depot, can stick them in your mailbox or if you're going to be in town...whatever. I just read on the seed trading forum what the charges are now on bubble mailers and I don't think we'll be mailing many of those.
Sherry

Wow, what a day! You are gracious hosts DrDon/Pam and Donna. I hope you’re able to get some rest tomorrow - or sometime soon.
It was wonderful to meet you all and put faces to the names. And, what an honor to meet our Founding Father. What a brilliant creation DG is. It’s obviously had a profound effect on many a gardener. A proud father, you must be!
Oh yea, and I loved the Tull Fiona. It rocked! Thanks to you all for making the newbie feel welcome.
TLeaves.....You were new????? LOL
Good morning RU folk.
Pam and Don, Thank you again for hosting this fabulous event. We had a great time. Thank your crew for putting up with the invasion.
Donna, thanks for all the time organizing this and to all who pitched in to help.
The food was great the company was even better. Hope to see everyone again next year.
Janice
(Teenager is still snoozing. I am sure she will put her 2 cents in later.)
First off Dave thanks for coming, You seem so quiet that I felt it was much more of a huge gift that you came for us. (Were still waiting word about the statue? lol)
Don and Pam, WOW THAT IS SOME SPREAD. What a joint effort of beauty and hard work , both on the house and the RU. Thanks.
Sherry, Donna and Janice thanks for the plants, it means more than you know and to those who brought spares that I jackedas well. Louise thanks to you for the special gift lol. Great people you are, DGers.
Once again my only complaint is the lack of any reason at all to complain. I had a wonderful time and it was great to get to meet Dave.
Even my wife, Sue, who has almost no concept of plants had a great time.
Don and Pam thanks for all that you did to accommodate me.
I had a good time with you all... Also Don and Pam are so great host this time and wonderful beautiful garden in their front yard... I took alot of pics and trying to get brighter pics. It take time to loaded up and fix the darker to brighter... I put darker pics in the thread fourm:

Thanks Rusty! Yes I am the only one with a beer. You have d-mail.
Hmmmm????? Nothins coming? I see no beer.
Zuzu, it was lovely to meet you and have a short chance to talk, it's so nice to be able to put a 'face' to the name. I'm sorry we will be losing you to Florida, but that's their gain and you'll have an entire new coast to explore. Perhaps if we have another RU next year, you and kassia can tie for 'traveled most distance to get here'.
Sherry
Kanita, Eric and Mike....I'm so glad you all made it to the RU. I would have missed you terribly otherwise!........Always good to see Mark, 'cause he brings passies and I have a collection going now with the one from Donna, one from Mark last year and 2 from Mark this year! I'll have to tag them, stating their 'provenance'. I always get something interesting from 'spin, so thank you again. Tell Blooms that we certainly missed her. One of my best friends, speck (Rosa),was there, just joined and she thinks you're all a super group of people. I know we all keep gushing about Don and Pam and all of the time and effort (and cost) they've put into this TWICE now, but it sets a high standard and I can't imagine it being any other way. You've spoiled us. Thank you. It was just soooo good to see everyone.
Sherry
How could I forget to thank Eric for that spectacular cake that a little birdie told me he was disappointed in. Eric, that was fabulous, we are our own worst critics. Kanita, I was so happy to see you there. May your Ka Nee Tah flourish and bring you the most abundant blooms ever.
Hugs to you all.
Jo, My neighbor Gail is begging me to find the Sopapilla Cheesecake recipe. One would have to weed out all the variations showing on the recipes forum....could you please give us the version you used?
Thanks, Sherry
