FIVE ACRES, Joan? My word, woman, do you have any OTHER hobbies?
ummm....no! LOL
Thanks for the reports on the apron. I think I will order one of those. :)
FIVE ACRES, Joan? My word, woman, do you have any OTHER hobbies?
LOL, Carrie, you get swept with a broom? Yep, I'd say you could make use of an apron.
I have a shovel leaning against one of the trees in these 25 acres of woods...somewhere, for two years now...Not something I could put in an apron pocket--a long-handled shovel. After I tired of looking for it, I bought a can of flourescent orange spray paint and painted all the rest of my tools. It works! Dangit, that was my favorite shovel, too...probably all rusted away by now. LOL
"Tell me why I need a garden apron? I love it, but I'm trying to justify it. LOL"
Joan, see the above post on July 6th by Green At Heart.

Oh, I wonder if this one has the string around the bottom to make the apron into a basket? I gotta go check. I like that idea, since I usually use my shirt. ;)
So, Joan, for us the logo needs to upside down on the inside front of the shirt, just above the hem??
That's an idea! Then when we're walking around with the front of our shirts full of 'maters or cukes, the logo will show on the front of the 'basket'! I think you're on to something there. LOL
I love the way you gals think!! LOL
Sasha
Grammysgarden...I think an apron for you to wear to "Market" would be just the thing....then when I come by to buy my cantelope and brocolli (BTW...the cantelope I get from you are GOOOOOD!) I would see my beloved DG logo. Jo
Au Contrair. If you want me to be a walking billboard for Dave's Garden, at least give me a free tee shirt. I don't pay any business to advertise for them; i.e., I wouldn't allow my children to purchase Coca-Cola sweatshirts under the same principle.
Normally I'd agree. However, if you had read all of the posts in this thread you would see that it's the SUBSCRIBERS to DG who want this. We are the ones who have asked Dave to provide us with this merchandise, and we are the ones who have guided the choices available. Dave is only acquiesing to our wishes.
I love DG so much that I WANT to wear their merchandise and I WANT to advertise for them. If you don't, then you don't have to. That's America, folks!

I don't mind paying to advertise, for Dave. He is super nice to us, and gives us just about anything we ask for. (within reason) He keeps everyone in line on here, and that in itself is worth paying extra for.
I admire his devotion to the site,.... and to all of us. It's his baby, but it's all of us, that make it one big, huge garden. The more, the merrier....so I help advertise. : )

Yep, the more members we get, the more knowledge there is to share!
There are many FREE T-shirts that I have turned down, because I wouldnt advertise a product or service that I dont like.
I love the idea of advertising a product or service that will eventually benefit ME! I guarantee that someone that is an expert in some plant or bug will come to my aid, all because they saw someone walking around with the DavesGarden.com site printed on one of these shirts. They will become lurkers and then subscribers and then possibly one of our many very experienced free advise givers that have come to my rescue many times, when I have had a problem with a plant or bug. I say spread the word.
One of the lurkers waiting to order my sweatshirt, T-shirts and you guys almost have me convinced that I need an apron,
Chris
LOL, Chris--almost, huh?
LOL, what would I do with all those garden jeans with the permanant soil marks down the sides where I wipe my hands. and the tell tale dark stain above the right rear pocket where I keep my cutters.
You could make a quilt. There is a forum for that, too. LOL ; )

I * reeeeally * needed my apron this morning! I went outside to water my tomatoes and saw limbs that needed to be staked up from the rain we had. I had to mark my place and go get my velcro, pruning scissors, etc and make my way back to tackle the task. It was then that I thought about this thread and said to my dog "I sure wish I had one of those DG aprons. I could just carry this stuff out here with me when I water the maters and be prepared!" She agreed. ;)
Love the mouse rollover, Dave!
White Flower Farm had these in the 80s and the dark green was really pretty with a white WFF logo. I was gong to suggest you change your apron color to green or dark green and have the screeners print the logo in white, cream, or light yellow or light pink. My hands are dirty and the white would be filthy in no time with me reaching for tags or scissors. And the ones from WFF shrank from the size of an adult woman to the size of a first grader, so we'd want to keep the washing down to a minimum. No Dryer.
Suzy
The apron comes in tan and yellow as well as white. I think the tan would work fine with dirt. LOL!!
I didn't see that! Thanks, faeden! Or in the words of Rosanne Roseannadanna Never mind!
Suzy
The one I gave away was green. I agree with the tan mixing well with the DGirt. LOL
And yeah, hand wash and no dryer on those aprons. It will take out the stiffness of the fabric pockets.
LOL, Suzy! I always loved when she said that!
So far in my practise order, I have saved over $8 in quantity discount and $10 in shipping savings.
I am such a great shopper!! LOL
Waiting for mugs, so I can save more.

I just saw the updates to this thread with the Cafepress and Zazzle links! Oh, my...Off to browse!
Hey, question on the round stickers -- You get a sheet of 20 for $4.95, right?
http://www.zazzle.com/davesgarden/product/217776597704485233
The bumper stickers are pretty pricey by the time you factor in shipping. Co-op, anyone? LOL
Ok, maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I checked out all the DG items on zazzle, and they all look great--but where are the prices? Help!
The price is on the right side, about half way down the page, under the 2nd purple box. Hope you find it.
Char
Kimberley, if you get the 1½" bumper sticker they are $4.95 for 20, but you can also get a sheet of six 3" stickers for $4.95.
Thanks, Char! I think the problem was that I didn't wait long enough for my slow dial-up to load the whole page...LOL
Here was the Zazzle link that Dave set up. But he isn't ready for us to purchase yet. He wants to test the qualilty. But we can droole!!!
http://www.zazzle.com/davesgarden
Yep, still waiting for his official word. I just wanted to see what we have to pick from--very nice selection indeed! Glad you posted the link again--it was hard to find in all these posts--thanks, Sheila!
Love the two T-Shirts I got recently from the remaining "old" ones Dave was selling! Can't wait for new ones to come out, hopefully in different colors ... especially Pink!
I wear Baseball Caps all the time when gardening, and also when mowing the lawn( I don't count that as gardening, to me playing in the dirt gardening is fun ..... mowing is a chore!) We also have a boat and I have to wear a baseball cap when out on the water or my head gets sunburned!
I want to order T-Shirts, Baseball Caps, A Coffee Mug, bumper stickers and .... that Apron sounds really neat. I would love one of those that has the strings to pull up for holding fruits & veggies. Guess I should go out shopping for some land for a big veggie garden ..... to go with that Apron. Or .... Hey .... I could wear it to cook in! LOL.
Can't wait to hear when the items will all be available again!
I got notification from Zazzle that my order was shipped on Friday, so I'm expecting them yesterday or today (I haven't checked my mail since yesterday morning. When the mailbox is over a mile from my house I tend to check it only a couple times a week).
So, I'm looking forward to posting my report!!
dave
We will be waiting to hear what you think of the quality of the products!
Yipeeeee!!!! Wow, Dave, I thought our mailbox was far away, at only 1/4 mile!
Mine is 2 miles away....and the oppisite direction we usually take to go into town. Jo
dave, we've been drooling semi-patiently for so long! Pleeeze pleeeeeeze check your mail?
xxxx, Carrie
I'll drive out there later this morning. :)
Yay yay yay!!! Can't wait for the news :)
