Yeah, aparently Gypsyseagod planted some strawberries near some jalapenos, and the strawberries turned out spicy! Here's the thread....some of those ideas sound pretty tasty!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just drop by for a cuppa?

Ok kids, a gardening in the tropics question.

My bride is reading about the "King of Fruits", the Durian. Has anyone had success growing and harvesting this fruit?
It is supposed to be so healthy and can have a variety of tastes depending on genus, etc. It is used to smoke fish, make tea, eat the petals, the flesh, has a horrible smell but tastes very good. They say that animals can smell it for miles....my bride did a wikapedia search on it and found all kinds of info. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with it and whether or not it's worth trying to get my paws on some seeds or however it can be grown...thanks in advance as always!!!

Shari, what kind of dipping sauce would you prefer for the fritters? Also, when should we book flights to Carol's?

Now that we're rolling, I mean, drooling. Gosh, you guys made me hungry for all these exotic tastes for breakfast. lol. Unfortunately Durian is only for those acquired taste buds. In some country's it's so expensive, that it was strictly for the more privileges. Longans, and Lychees too.
I wished I could share more info. I was but a little kid then.
A trip to gather with DGers friends at Carol sounds like a wonderful idea. Do keep me posted.
