The red one was labeled as a Lucifer Crocosmia. The yellow was labeled Freesia when I bought it. I bought them at the same time and they were budding, not blooming. Not knowing anything at all about either plant, I just assumed they were similar in leaves, etc. Duh! Well ..... I learn something NEW every day. Even about my own garden. These Freesia have taken a lot of neglect and abuse this past year. Seems they like it. LOL! Not fussy at all here in Florida. LOL! I just can't believe the error and my assumption. Oh goodness gracious!
If I can find any Freesia tubers left at Wally World, I'll grab a couple for you. They were selling them as tubers in a bag a month or so ago. They also had some other interesting tubers. If they still have some left, would you like for me to send some your way? Not a problem for me. I just hope they still have some. They may have cleared them out already. I will look tonight when I go shopping. :-)
I would love a Crocosmia corm. I will send something interesting your way. How hot does it get in your zone during the summer?

Okay. Will look and see what I can find for that zone temp. We do get some interesting tubers, corms, and bulbs for sale here. I'll surprise you. It may not be a Freesia, okay? I'll see what I can find and send them to you. What is the best way to send tubers, corms, etc. In a box or in an envie with lots of padding? I've never sent anything like that overseas. I am going to answer my own question .... a box with lots of padding. :-) Don't want the tuber or whatever to get crushed. I'll let you know more after I go to the store later.
Have you ever grown Acidanthera? I have some bulbs of that one already.
wrap them in damp newspaper or kitchen paper................. and put in a bag............... with lots of padding round them!!

Sorry not been around for a while. Where I work is mad down from 10 staff to 1.5!!!! Mark I am jealous still not got my buddleia and ordered it on 9th March. What do you mean its not worth the £9.90? Just got some Lantana Camara off ebay. Looks promising....

Just found this fun thread! I think I need to find some more buddleas... and then I need to find some more space to plant them! LOL I've just got one ('Black Knight'), and it's taken several years to get established for me, but last year it looked halfway decent so I have high hopes for it!
Does anybody have advice for me about pruning Buddleas? Mine is still dormant... do I wait until it starts leafing out? or do I just not mess with it at all?

Yep! I had to whack about 2 ft. off all the branches of my purple flowering and white flowering buddleas! Once they start really growing, they get those long branches quickly! They were hogging almost an entire garden bed before I whacked them shorter! lol I heard pruning them helps them to flower more often, too! :-)
Yep it sure does help them flower better........... I have just pruned mine back this week......... I took around 2ft off mine too!!
