Dr Don....Hi there! If someone else drops out...I would love a few also. My grandma used to grow these in an old dishpan...(metal)....near her outside pump and sink. In fact...we have pictures of me backing up to the flowers and picking them....lol. I was about 2-3 yrs old. Brings back great memories!
And it's good to see you posting again. I was wondering what happened to you just the other day.

Oh gosh, Tropicanna...please don't drop out on my account. That isn't why I said that at all! I was just reminiscing. No...you go right ahead and take those. Hugggs....Marcy

DrDon
I think there should be some left over in mine, also. Please keep it if there is. I addressed an extra bubble, so at least you'll have the one I sent you that can be reused. hahaha I was scared it might get damaged so tucked mine inside. I didn't see Critter's post until after I mailed but think I covered my cost with a bit left over. If I've goofed ... please please let me know so I can rectify any mistake I might have made. :-)

DrDon,

My envelope went out to you yesterday. Sorry for the delay, I had the opportunity to go to the "big city" on business over the weekend and couldn't help but plant shop.

I firmly believe we reap what we sow. You are sure to reap the kindness you have shown to all of us.

Well I did not ask what to do with these..but what I did..was cut the roots..off the bottom...plant...about 2 inches..into clean dirt...potting soil...I did not cut the tops off? I hope that works..I am so excited..they look so cute..oh also watered them...lol...So nice..DrDon...wowow...they are a breathe of fresh air...hehehe..snow is still on our ground...so they are in my sun room...basking... hahaha....Thanks again..

Smiles..Diana

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya smilin....lol,

Looks to me like you've figured them out. I'm beginning to be curious about your screen name as you seem to have intuited Zephs all by yourself. Maybe you should change to Alreadyagardener....lol.

best to you and enjoy their bright flowers during your summer rains.
don

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Dear..Don...oh I wish I could take the credit...but...I "Wantabegardener."...is what I want to be...but I have help.. My friend..in China...told me about the cutting of the roots...to bring on...a better display..of Rain Lilies.. He has only white ones there.. We share many things..lol...He is my reinforcer---- Nice to have one behind..me..and he has youth..lol... Really I have been in DG...many many years...but I learn every day...so many things..and then often..a person like you shows up...and I get to have a try at new things to me...lol...Never too late..to enjoy..special things.. I am sure..you are used to Rain lilies.. But to me..they are going to be a pleasure in my life..thanks again for sharing..them...lol....More smiles.. Diana

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Don, just curious, are you sending out bulbs for the pink ones pictured? I saw that you have all colors, so I was wondering! I have the pink ones like the one pictured, and may have some white...can't remember..lol what other colors do they come in?

West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

I'm wondering the same thing now, because I thought they were all white!
I'm sending a mailer today, I guess I'll rely on the luck of the Irish that it'll get to California by St.Patrick's day... :)

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

Zephyranthes candida are white flowering. I've collected several species in my travels but Z. candida grows so well here that it multiplies sufficiently for me to give away a few hundred bulbs each year. So year soon I do hope to be able to share some of the other species (colors) in this forum, but as of now and for the last several years I've only offered Z. candida.

best,
don

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Don, for the info...I think I may have some white ones too, I believe I got them in a trade last year, will know when they bloom..lol, but my pink ones like the one posted above multiply very nicely for me...I just love them! They bloom on and off all year and always make me smile!
