this may take a day or 2 more than i thought to sort cause ya all really suprised me on the things ya sent,lol. so i have gone through and organized what i can so far and done some so there isn't as much to do later. as each comes in i will redo envies and sort into the 3 boxes to help cut down on time before i can send back. that way i can send them out quicker rather then waiting till all here to start anything.

orginized is not one of my strong points,lol. i had to take one of my 7 week old puppies to the vet and have it put to sleep so it has been real hard on me the last few days. he got a hold of something he shouldn't have and had it logged to far back in his windpipe. they didn't have the type of icu care here he needed cause they didn't have the equipment for such a tiny baby.
we all tried everything but couldn't help so after 3 hours and it getting worse i chose to have him put to sleep. i delivered him and helped cared for him since birth and i was there when he parted us in my arms. ya all have helped me keep stong more than ya ever could know with all the things happening lately. this swap has really been keeping me busy to help keep my mind off things. it's not that i'm organized it just gives me things to do and realize how special my friends here really are.

Sorry about the puppy mary. I lost a kitten last month when a board fell on her, she was the only smoky gray out of the litter. We called her Shadow.

thanks robin, we called him wolf,lol funny name for a baby min pin but he always howled in his sleep and while nurseing it was the cutest thing he did it since he was about 5 days old. i'm sorry to hear about your cat. it's hard when animals are part of your family and like your kid's.

I'm still waiting on my second order of seeds to come in. I got a confirmation on the 25th of Feb but then on march 1 they said they couldn't ship them. Had to find some again. Hopefully they'll be in soon. I don't like being the cows tail and have everyone delayed because of me. My cute little packets are made and ready waiting on my seed order.

well i got to excited about the snow disapearing and they had trees today when i went to town so i got a dwarf apple and peach and 2 hibiscus trees. then i got tea roses and climbing ones too. i couldn't resist i had to, rotfl. now ya know if the roses are comeing in stores and i see a few sprouts outside on my tulips spring is just around the corner i can't wait!!!

silkie, you know, I don't know what the scent of that soap is... I got it at a local arts fair, I think, but I know the scent you are talking about because I have it in another cream, and I love it! It must be some sort of essential oil. I will try to find out for you. I'm glad the seeds got there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's handiwork!

awe, thanks liz! actually probably one of the kid's brought it home from school that's usually how i get sick,lol. it's been horrible being sick today now i feel some better i can eat more than pudding but i got a migrain and neck pain that is the worst pain ever and i can't get rid of it for nothing.
hey i think i figured out the scent of the soap. at first i thought it smelled like citris(sp) mabe lemon berbina something but actually it smells more like citrinella. hubby and i think it's lemmon mint. one end smells like lemmons and the other like peppermint. does any of these sound like what it might be? it's driveing us crazy to know as it smells really good!! dh likes it which is funny it's the first one i've gotten he likes the smell of. i'd love to find out what it is to get more somewhere, it's for sure a keeper for a wonderful scent. he don't like my girlie ones as he calls them, lol.

If I am remembering right, there is a phone number (or at least a business name) on the little wrapper that was around it. It does have a citrus smell to it -- so fresh and clean smelling. Anyway, look and see if it has any information on it. I want to say it was made in Millport, Alabama. I can do some sleuthing on this end.

Oh no! I'm the cow's tail......Please nobody hate me. I know you say it's ok, Silkie. But I'm embarrassed. I emailed the company today. My packages are cute even if I say so. However, there not much good without seeds to go in'em. Sorry folks. If they aren't in by middle of next week I'll try to find some different ones. There's none in town with the name Chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, milk etc. So I really really want the one's on order.

i didn't specifically pick anyone. i have bags with stuff for each of you set aside with all your goodies i just need to add deb's to 6 of them so actually some are ready now but i'd have to check to see which ones. the only one i sent was belinda' s since she sent first real early and the mail time is so bad from me to her but that was by my choice as i felt it was best since sometimes it takes a few weeks to get to her. i didn't want her to be left behind and have to wait weeks after everyone else get's theirs, that way it would all be about the same time.

i'm feeling better now thanks to everyone. you all are such sweethearts!! sometimes i just have bad days, with 5 kid's, 4 swaps going, getting ready for spring and my house full of plants and seeds, trades and things mia and plant and seed trades comeing and going as you can imagine it has been crazy here.
there is no rush for this swap, i just wanted to make sure i don't miss anyone or mix anything up and with the kid's eyeing up candy well ya know,lol. i just want ya all to have fun, enjoy the swap, meet new people, and have lots of pretties to grow and i want to make sure i do everything right so ya all have a blast!! anyways i love ya all your the best and i made alot of friends through these swaps which has been the best part of all!!! i'd love to host again but it will have to wait when things are not so busy here cause it has just been way to confusing to remember everything even with keeping a journal it has been hard at times. the kid's had a great idea for an april fool's day swap but it is just to close to be able to do it so mabe next year for that one.
i do have another one i'd LOVE to do so it will be posted as soon as things calm down here some and i finish thinking up the details, i think everyone might have more fun with it actually. it will have a little more of a twist to it which out to turn out to be really fun to do, i think you all will love it too.

I'm always close by my puter.........I check my email several times daily (bkstarnes@earthlink.net) and you can YELL there anytime, honestly. I've been in your shoes several years ago and know how frustrating it can get. Often times when you take a load off on someone that is willing to have BIG ears, it seems to help for a while. Glad you are hosting another swap, you can count me in for sure. I love these things.

ugg, tonight i took the last puppy to meet someone. well she wants him but the deal was kinda weird. for the min pin she offered-cause she really wants a puppy bad, 1-ring that is a diamond shape pink saphire w/diamonds and white gold, another 10k white gold ring with 3 heats that are pink saphire w/diamonds and the matching necklace, also another ring 10k gold with a big marquese style opal w/diamonds plus a $100 for an even trade. well the rings all came from kay's jewelers and are real she gave them to me to take and all the papers and the lifetime warenties and reciepts, that way i could verify they were the real deal. i took them to kay's and they are the real deal and had them cleaned and such while there. they are worth $400 min which blew me away when i saw the reciepts so i said not to worry about the extra(that was only after knowing they were from kay's i didn't see price till i was at the store later i just really liked them) i was tickled at the steal i got since she basically threw them at me so to speak since she wants the pup so much and i felt i was takeing advantage of her since i didn't know they were worth so much till i met her. even though one doesn't fit i can have it resized smaller, the opal one i don't know what it's worth but i'd guess 100-200.
here is the kicker. i didn't know she is moveing or that they had water pipes break and where she lives she can't have him till i took him to meet her. i thought she was to get him tonight her mom and her don't never say much and they insisted she see him since it was for the daughter. so i need to hold the puppy for her at least a few days if not more tomarrow she should know more what is going on. she wanted the girl runt i'm keeping and am attached to but never said that and has never asked any details and says either is fine she just didn't have a boy before and is kinda leary of haveing him.
well then she pmed me again that she wanted to know if she could have one of the rings back as it has sentimental values to her but if not it's ok. she gave me these things in trade and are more value than what i origionally thought so i took less to begin with. now i don't know what to do or tell her. she had already placed an ad for the same trade wanted but people flipped she was trying to cheat someone they weren't real. trueth is they are i had the jemoligist check them at the kay's store before i came home. she has been the one and her mom contacting me makeing offers not the other way around. she answered my ad for them for sale. she also said if i give the ring back she will make up with it for money or something.
so my question is what would you all do since she keeps changing things on me and throwing jenerous offers at me??? i have no clue what to tell her and i want it to be as fair as possible. mike told her i was sleeping so that i can answer her back tomarrow and have time to think. honestly it's my fav it's the one with the diamond shape saphire and the best fitting one. gosh i thought seed swapping was crazy at times but not like this, rotfl. so what do you guys think i should tell her and if i have to keep the puppy longer than a few days how long should i agree to hold him?

Silkie, I don't want to tell you what to do, but do have some advice: to me, the most important consideration would be the welfare of the pup. My intuition is ringing alarm bells about this person & her family, but I can't say exactly what disturbs me about them as the pup's future home. Just my opinion - I've been wrong before.
I give you honors for running one of the most warm, funny and creative swaps ever - you bring out the best in people, so you absolutely owe me no apologies. More crimes of the heart are committed in the name of efficiency than in folks enjoying the process of whatever brings them together. I don't think I ever would have come up with the ideas of plant associations and garden themes - on my own - that this swap has inspired without you and the group that has come together for this swap.
So I'm in no hurry - will be sorry to see this swap come to an end.
i will too but there will be more, i promise. i'm already thinking ideas for the next one,lol. you guys are like a family to me and you have all taught me so much. you all have helped me get through the worst winter ever and so many problems just during this swap most of ya have no idea. ya know it's the great friends i met here at dg's that has given me strength to pull through it all. i never could have done it without you and it means more than i could ever put into words, so i do truelly thank you for you all being there and being such great friends. gosh at one time i had 40 trades going plus swaps and everything else, rotfl and ya know i was ready to rip my hair out waiting at the mailboxes but ya all saved me in my maddness even though most never knew about it,lol ya kept me posting and talking so it kept my mind off of things.
well i thought about it for a long time, there is some alarms going off and i don't know why something is just not right with this girl or this trade and i wrote her back. i told her i woke up and checked emails and saw it. nicely i told her i was canceling our agreement because everytime we agree on a price she changes it, the rings are not the sizes she stated so they would need paid to reband them to fit. also that i was under the impression she rushed the meet to get him now and pay in full as she never asked for just a meet or for me to hold him and that's what was implied.
i told her had i known that i never would have taken such a small puppy out in this horrible weather to risk him getting sick nor would i have met anyone while the kid's were at home as it's to much for them to part with them or to keep haveing them pulled in and out like that. instead i would have sent pics till a better more appropriet time like i had asked her to do to begin with. that i was just going to keep him and return her things. pick a time to meet me tomarrow so i could return them and i wasn't mad or anything it just wasn't worth the troubles or the heartache on the kid's. so we'll see how it goes from here.
she also said this was the second pup she tried to get from someone she had problems before and it fell through well now i know why. my biggest problem is one how this puppy will be treated once she has him since she is so wishy washy is she just gonna decide she don't want him or only take care of him when she feels like it and 2 after looking at the reciepts and papers none of these are even in her name it is some guys i have no clue who he is. she made it out that she purchased them now how do i know that they are not stollen or something.
so without a doubt i am returning this stuff i don't need the added stress or trouble. i'll let you know how it goes, she will probably be mad but hey that's her problem. my children and that puppies well being is what matters to me nothing else so we shall see.

good for you. i had the same problem with our kittens. i just had to refuse one gal because something didn't click true. i felt better afterwards and now that kitten has a very healthy happy life with us. now i have 6 cats instead of the 3 we were going to keep plus momma cat (bought 2 more kittens, i'm crazy).

Silkie, I was hoping my seeds would have arrived today but they didn't; maybe tomorrow. I called Monday and they had not shipped them out, gggrrrr, so I paid for express shipping. Why they didn't come within two days is a mystery to me. This seed company will not get any future business from me. Maybe I'll have good news to report tomorrow.
