My home-made plant labels

It's an old one but a good one. I hadn't seen the brilliant post about using CLEAR plastic utensils. Pure genius. Of course, I'd probably step on every one because I wouldn't see them in time.

yep, forgot I was watching this one also. Murmur did you divide the heuchy just by splitting it or does it kinda throw off little babies. I planted 5 about 3 months ago and they have gotten much bigger, but there is weed block fabric around them so if they are going to throw babies then i have to pull that back.

Chris, I was dividing more another one today (Crimson Curl) and found that some of them were babies that could be pulled apart from the mother plant, but some were like many perennials and had to be "split" (all this on the same plant). I don't think the weed block fabric will be too big a problem as they should be in one clump. They are a hardy little plant, and will take off with almost no root system. It was sooooooo nice to be outside today dividing plants, pulling weeds, etc. The sun was out off and on, the wind did blow a bit, but it didn't rain - yet!!!

I haven't switched to clear plastic utensils yet as I still have a lot of the lovely beige variety - no big deal, I guess, as long as they're just being used for my plant sale. I do get a kick out of them all marching up the stairs in their little pots.

I'm so glad you posted the plastic spoon idea, they've been great for all the seed starting I'm doing.

Thanks Murmur, I had no idea that they were that easy to split. I would have bought one of each variety instead of, 3ea of Dolce, Mocha mint and Creme Brulee. Well, I can shop now knowing how many plants 1 will actually give me. I love to split.
I think the spoon idea will be great for plant sale. I am going to use them on all the new Heuchy plants I am gonna have. :)chris

I did get a chuckle from the spoons. LOL
But as Icf says, they would be great for a plant sale!
I just use the old blinds.

The light bulb when off in my head with the spoons because we throw so many away at work, I could recycle them. Not to mention they would be free then! People already think it is goofy to save the coffee grounds! So what's a few spoons.

Does your office shred paper? Instant mulch!

Gardeners are so creative (and we're thrifty because we'd rather spend our hard-earned money on the plants themselves than on "stuff!!").
