LeBug, I have a white butterfly bush. If it's not covered with ice in the morning I'll check and see if there are seeds on it. I have no idea if you'll get white from seeds from a white one but I'll be glad to send you some if I have any.
CLOSED: St. Patrick's Day Seed Swap - Extra
Thanks hart! I'm not sure if they will come true either, the only ones that I have grown is the lavendar one and they sure are true lol I want white to put in my butterfly garden with lots of parsley around them for the flutters by so they thank you too! I don't think it would hurt the seeds to freeze cause I'm gonna WS them anyway.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to post a few extras..... since afterall..... I have asked for so much from everyone else.....it's time to give back.
I have at least a couple trades of these, if anyone is interested. I have a few more I will list after these are most the way gone. I'm just not that fast on the computer so don't want to get any more confused than I am to begin with. I bought these at Walmart yesterday and every package was just .10..............I didn't think you could buy anything for a dime anymore. I thought maybe it was old seed but on the back it reads, packed for 07.

Jane
Good Morning,
Well woke up with a sore throat and sniffles this morning, but other wise I am feeling fine... I have some day lily seeds I am going to start hopefully today, (notmartha sent them to me :) I did WS some of them, and I found a few other seeds to WS, so want to get those sarted first and get them outside. Yesterday the roads were ICY and our parking lot at church was a solid sheet of ice, so we didn't have church, but went to one down the road from ours... Had a good service. then came home and laid around all day, went to bed way way early, Ken went to a friends church last night while I slept lol got up at 9:30 for a few minutes and back to bed. was up and down a few times thru out the night but not for long. We never did get the (snow, icy rain) that they said we were gonna get last night. But the day is still young... I am staying in!!! Ken's got to run into town so when he leaves I will do what I need to do, can't get nothing done when he is under foot, way worse than a kid rofl...
You know, I really thought I was gonna like him retiring, BUT... well I do like the fact he doesn't have to be in that plant anymore, but he could find something to do, than to sit here in my way lol
Once the weather is warmer, I won't have to worry, he will be outside from dawn to bed time.
thx Jane - question, can those be winter sowed?
I need to go thru my list of seeds that I have done and figure out the ones that are herbs (some I know) and perennials and annuals and seperate them in order. I was going to do that yesterday and couldn't stay awake to lol
I want to do a herb garden closer to the house. Any ideas???
Connie
Hope you're feeling better, Connie. Do you have any Zicam? That will really help if you're catching a cold.
We managed to miss the ice although a lot of places around us got some. We did, however, get about 10 inches of snow.
Do you have a small spot near the kitchen where you could put your herb garden? I like having mine where I can go out and pick whatever I need fresh while I'm cooking. You don't need a lot of space and most herbs actually like places where nothing else will thrive. I've also used a strawberry pot for herbs.
Hart, were you able to get any white butterfly bush seeds? I bet it snowed all over them didn't it lol
You should see the mess I have when I plant butterfly bush seeds, I put all of the seedlings in 5" pots and then they will bloom about the middle of the summer and I can see what color they are so far all I have gotten has been the lavendar ones I just wonder if they all revert back to the lavendar ones, I hope not!
Connie you are having a bad winter for being sick, I hope you get it all out of the way so you will have a good spring! Get to feeling better girl!
Post office has them...hehehe...coming your way Connie...feel better..my goodness...Can't wait to get mine...Gives me a up day..lol...this has been really fun.. Glad I got in on the second to last...hehehehe.....Thanks Connie for running a great SWAP.....for sure..Really ran smooth...
Happy day everyone...stay warm and dry. waving..
Smiles..Diana
Thanks for reminding me about the butterfly bush, LeBug. There are seed pods. Apparently the seeds are like dust. They're wet from the snow but should be dry by the time I can get them in the mail.
I found this:
Buddlea is even easier to propagate. It can be done in the same way as lantana or you can just plant some short branches in the soil in March. If you keep this soil moist, most of them will develop into plants which can be transplanted later.
Their spelling of buddleia, not mine. LOL I'll be glad to cut you some cuttings. I know they would be true and apparently March is the right time to root them.
Well Lea, not knowing I was eating contaminated Peanut Butter is due to the biggest part of the sickness... Thank God that is out of my systom... If I am bound to get a cold, rather get it now than a month from now, that way when Spring gets here, I will be over it, other wise I may have it all summer long with my sinus problems to boot... Colds don't usually keep me down long, just as long as I don't get an inner ear infection with it, I will do fine :o)
Hart HOT Toddy's work GREAT :o)
K Daina, will let you know when they arrive.
Just got back from the P.O. Mine are on the way Connie : ) Hope you get to feeling better soon. Thanks for another Great Swap!
Nancy
You all are welcome :o) I had fun doing it... Can't wait til all the envies get here so I can post a pic :o)
Then get them all back out to ya all :o)
Well I have some Lily seeds to sow, will be back in a little bit...
You all have a great afternoon.
Connie
Thanks, I'm not very good at cuttings so I'll pass on that but I will try the seeds, I'm going to work on cuttings this summer, I need to learn how to do them and just have so much other stuff to do and seeds are sooo much easier, I'm bad I just take the easy way out lol Those seeds are like dust, you can take a 1/4 tsp. and get a gal. jug of seedlings! Easy WS lol
Connie,
My seeds are going out tomorrow....I have been looking and looking and looking and I cannot find the birdhouse gourds seeds! They're BIG and I must have carried them around with me looking forsomething else. If I can find them in time, I'll slip them in , otherwise they will show up right after I get this to the mailbox, I'm sure!
Lea, Wantabe, Dawg & Connie, I am just now packing your butterfly bush seeds.
Putting the final touches on and re reading the directions to make sure I did it all right !!
I caught a bad bug Sat night and yesterday could feel it soming on, today I am limp as a dishrag...just feel terrible. Hart! Ilove ZICAM!!!!!!!!!! But I don['t think this is a cold, I htink it's worse, maybe walking pneumonia or somehing. Okay, maybe not that bad, but somehting very, very bad :))

Hi Kathryn, got your seeds today and soooo cute, Got one question, I looked thru the package but couldn't find the return postage, could you point me in the right direction :o)
Connie
Hey Connie ~
So sorry I've been delinquent in posting my update! YIKES - - - the weather has been SO pretty here that I can't force myself to come inside and sit in front of the 'ole puter! :( I did put my BE in the mail this morning coming your direction...........added a few extra "surprises" for you to pass around (or keep) lol; found so much St. Paddy stuff that I simply couldn't resist. :-) Please let me know when the package arrives.
I'm happy to report that my new seed table DH built me has become overflowing with seeds and seedlings. Connie, tell me more about this messenger you were talking about. So far, my daylilies and lilies have done great, but it never hurts to have a back up. On top off all that, I have worked about 75% of my flowerbeds, getting them all ready for Spring plantings and I already have lots of bulbs, lilies and daylilies coming up! Hooray! :-)
Question for all of you shade gardeners............I have added a new shade garden (15x20) and I am looking for something tall (around 5'-6') to put toward the back. It does get about two hours of morning filtered sunlight, but beyond that, its all shade. Any ideas would be SO appreciated. I am lost when its comes to shade gardening.
Hope that all of you ladies have a great day!
Belinda
Diana, got your envie today, awwww sooooo cute, and thank you for the plaque, I laughed and laughed and it is soooo true,
This is what the plaque says that Diana sent me....
Retirement is twice as much husband and half as much money!
The seed packs are adorable...
k Later.
Happy Birthday Patricia, Hope you have a GREAT GREAT Day.
Connie
Thank you, Connie, for the birthday wishes! I am fully enjoying a quiet day of doing just what I want to: driving around with my DH and looking at the newest baby calves in the pasture, repotting little tomato plants, finishing my seed packing, and NOT doing any dishes or cleaning until tomorrow! (Of course, I manage to put off chores I don't want to do quite often.)
Patricia
Well Happy Birthday Patricia : ) Sounds like you are having a wonderful day!
Nancy
Happy, happy birthday Patricia - - - - enjoy your day and let your DH do the dishes for you today! :-)
Belinda

Belinda, what about goatsbeard? It likes shade, is tall and very pretty and very tough. Monkshood is another tall one that does okay in shade. Chelone - false turtlehead is another.
Hart you took the words right out of my mouth lol
Well it is really hard to believe that today is the last day of February, yippey. March is upon us :o)
I finally got all the seeds I have WSed listed on my spread sheet. Still have more seeds to WS then get those listed... Man what a job lol...
The web page I have it listed on has been updated :o)
DH has took a little trip to Tecumseh to a hobby shop there to buy more track for his hobby :) So I am enjoying the peace and quite. But as soon as he gets back got to go to craft 2000. They have a couple items there I want to get for decoration in one of my garden beds :o)
Well off to shower and get dressed and start my day lol
