February's Coffee

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My Mother used to tell my 6 brothers that they didn't need a bevy of woman....just one good one, treat her with respect and her name is Mom! LOL

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL..................... So true Pixie...............
But me being English, i was brought up to treat ALL women with respect!!!!

Anyway Arlene, i am far to ugly to have a bevy of women!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Pixie - love your post.

Mark - I've seen your photo. You are much too modest.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

So were they, believe me! Your elder's, woman, and church figures or else you had a date w/Dad in the basement.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Oh Arlene.................. did you know its bad luck to put your left foot on the floor first when you get out of bed............. something for you to add to your superstition list!!!!

I have a new photo now................. wanna see it????

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pirl, the rest of my Mom's little saying was "a girl will break your heart, Momma never will. I'll tan your hide, but never break your heart!" LOL

Edited to say: Of course we do Mark!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

pirl,
i haven't been asked to get married for the 21st time, and i'm not sure i'll except right away. i like to keep him hanging. LOL he will go to all sorts of tricks trying to get me to say yes sometimes. once we were just married by a minister down in jamaica, they had pronounced us man and wife and kissing and all...........then leo got down on one knee and asked me if i would marry him again. well all these people are oooohing and aaaaah ing about how romantic he is.....and i'm giving him a dirty sly look saying you got me you bum. how can i possibly say no, when i just married him. these people would be horrified. so i said yes, but later, told him that i had done it under durress and would have to take that into consideration and rethink my acceptance of marriage proposal. LOL we have lots of fun together.
we have gotten married mostly in las vegas. you can have a ceremony, etc...for a reasonable amount of money and it is easy to get a marriage license there. no waiting, no tests, you just apply, pay a fee and they give it to you. we can get away with doing this, because i kept my last name, when we married the first time.
although, in jamaica, where we have been married twice, i'm mrs. leary. you have to take the mans last name, no choices there.
so to answer your original question. most likely las vegas. but who knows what the future has in store........................:-)

Thank you for the hugs though.................... I love hugs!!!!!!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Mark - If I were twenty years younger and not married I'd be on your doorstep in the morning.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww................................. you are so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

and don't forget the same continent! Nice pic Mark. What you say about women, I say about men. I'm too set in my ways now to change, so it doesn't matter much. So this cold weather is tough as long as you don't need to be out in it too long. I think it's supposed to be like this for a bit yet.

When is spring?????

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Not soon enough!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh roll on spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate winter....................

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Well, gotta be fair, I promised. It was either this, one with the computer in front of my face, or one of me sleeping on the sofa. I kind of like the computer one. DH likes to get those candid shots LOL

I think it's a good choice! It's always great putting a face with a name! Nice to 'officially' meet you grams!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Same here! You have a very happy charming face and remind me of the lovely women in Ireland. Are you of Irish descent?

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Thank you both. I always thought I looked a bit Irish, too, but no. English, a bit Scottish, German on the other side (and some Spanish that no one can seem to explain)

edit to add: I once asked my grandmother (on the WASP side) what our nationality was, and her answer was 'Just tell them you're a Yankee!'

so you're not Irish or a conductor or a gramps? - good thing I'm sitting down ;)

I'll agree with Anita - just for now though.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Al - maybe I missed something but what connection does gram have to being a conductor?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

the hat - jeez

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'm blaming the wind! That's it. I can't take the wind anymore and feel like the crazed women out on the prairies for far too long.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Al, I'm not a lion tamer, either.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Gram you have a lovely Scottish face, I do not however see any resemblance of Spanish decent! Or you may be the palest Senora I have ever seen! LOL

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

my mother's whole family was German, she spoke German at home until she started school. but her maiden name was Real, pronounced ray-al, definitely not German. I'm going to have to try to get ahold of the family tree my aunt did before she passed and see what the story is.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Nice pics Mark and Gram! I go away for the weekend and this thread is 20 miles long. It took me 1/2 hour to read! Here's me.

Digging to China there, are ya Al? Nice pic!

BTW, computer and sofa naps are my favorite pastime. I bought a hammock so I can take my naps outside during the summer.

Hey Gram, i think we started something now....................... Nice pic Gram.... I see Scottish in you personally!!
Its always nice to see the people you talk to.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Al - that's evidence!!! Notice Dave hasn't posted......Al?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Dave isn't allowed to show himself ever since his groundbreaking exposeŽ that ketchup and catsup are the same thing.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Nice pic Harper...............................
