Jan. Bingo Calls - Philo Theme

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Lin...they've become a lot more common recently, but they still carry a pretty hefty price.

You can find them on ebay every once in a while, and various online stores carry them, too.

I got both of these from a plant trading friend who I had also purchased from on ebay (about 5 years ago) and he had also sent me the one with the yellow variegation......that one hung on (but didn't grow, I swear!) for about 2 years, and then I lost it:(

They're both very slow growers, but I think once they pick up speed, they grow faster.
Mine grows better/faster outdoors during the summer, of course, so I won't look for it to do much more until this coming summer.

Livermore, KY(Zone 6a)

I have wanted the var spilt leaf for so long. Always out of my range price wise.

#12.

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

lol Okay...I saw the Silver Streak listed, and I had it on my list when it was called, but I just now realized when I saw Nan's pic that I have that plant!!! lol I knew my plant was labelled Silver Streak, but I just now put the two and two together that my plant was on the bingo list!!! lol Okay, I'm usually not this clueless.

Mine is very small, though. Can I see a far-away pic so I'll know what she'll look like when she gets bigger?
Thanks!
Cheryl

(Zone 1)

Only 7 left to call ... someone must be getting close here too! I still need 3.

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

I agree with the others, though, your variegated not-so-split leaf IS really eye-catching. I wonder why no splits? Oh well, she's pretty even without them.

Sharon, how expensive was it? Just curious, of course. lol

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I agree, it is pretty...I guess that's why I put up with it's slowness....I'm anxiously awaiting the day she decides to 'split'! LOL!!

As for the reason....likely an age/size thing....it has been a bit too small to climb and I can't seem to keep the moss covered pole moist enough to attract those aerial roots to it.

I'm hoping, too, that when I can place it back outdoors this summer, the humidity will help with the 'lack of splits' (for lack of a better term!).

Cheryl....I'll try to get another shot of the 'Silver Streak' (I think it's botanical name is Epipremnum amplissimum) Apologies for my slow-ness...Plants are at home and camera software is at work.
Being on dial-up doesn't help when trying to post them either!

It varies Cheryl on the price, some on ebay have went really high. I tend to like t purchase starts of plants instead of whole plants due to pricing. I have bid on a few however they usually go out of my price range.

I can't believe no one has bingo yet, I thought when I got back from lunch there would be at least one. WIth only 7 more we should have one soon.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Someone is *very* close....and a couple others are pretty close, as well!!

Do you think you'll make another call today or wait 'til tomorrow?

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Oh my goodness- #12 was a call, wasn't it. I missed that. I scrolled up and saw that King of Spade had been called, too. I think I must've missed a whole bunch of calls. I kept looking at the list at the top. lol I think I need to comb through this whole thread. lol ; )

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Nevermind...looks like that was all I missed. ; )

(Zone 1)

I must have missed the call for "King of Spade" too .... need to back track again. LOL.

Livermore, KY(Zone 6a)

I am to confusing aren't I.

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

perhaps I should've kept quiet. lol jk

(Zone 1)

Well ... it isn't on my card anyway! LOL

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

There's a few variegated Monstera listed on ebay right now....whew!
Luckily mine was from a friend and was no where near that much!!
(Of course, mine wasn't in a 2 gal. pot as this one is said to be)

If mine were bigger, I'd share, but unfortunately it's just not big enough...sorry:(

(Zone 1)

I'm going to keep my eyes open for one .... just not one that's so expensive!

Lin

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Whoa...that's a huge plant. I looked at this in the plant files and there was a vendor carrying one...for $60. lol Not quite as large as this one, I don't think. But man, does that thing grow. Probably would get too large for my house! lol ; )

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

There's supposed to be different forms/colors of variegation, and each one has a different degree of availability and therefore price....it's hard for me to tell what's what, though!!

I noted that MiamiMax had posted the photo of the one in DG PF....he specialized in variegated plants, and he would definitely know. In fact, he sells them too, and I can personally recommend him as a wonderful seller.

Lin...if you are seriously seeking one...why don't you go to his website and email him (that's how you find out price and availability)?
His website is http://www.raretropicalplants.com/home_pagex.html

(Zone 1)

Thanks Nan! I just sent him an e-mail to see if a couple he had listed were available and the prices etc.

Ginny (Which I believe is technically a Raphidophora, but again, is often called a Philodendron)
These leaves aren't as large as they appear in the photo...probably about 4" x 4", give or take.

Hubby and youngest son went to dr today, although she basically told them they were on the down side of the flu and should be better in a few days. Thanks to all who have asked, means a lot to know you care.

Sorry for all those I have completely confused. I didn't do it intentionally.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Nan.Thats Another Beauty.Look At The Size Of That Leaf! Awesome : )

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

This one's really a 'sprawler' and another slow grower.
I suppose it would grow more if I'd re-pot, but space prohibits me from potting anything up 'too big'.

Mine has a whopping 4 leaves:)

(Zone 1)

What a Beauty Nan! That's one I e-mailed that Tropical place about, (you gave me the web site link yesterday, but I can't remember what it is). I haven't heard anything back yet.

Don't have it on my card, but I love that plant!

Emporia, KS(Zone 5b)

Thanks Nan...I didn't realize it was going to trail. lol I didn't know what it was going to do at all!! ; ) Your plants are all so pretty. ; )
