This is and has been alot of FUN!

Happy Holidays
Connie

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

Connie, Mine is ready to go.
I stayed up until 2am last night looking for everything and packaging it up.
There was a couple of things I thought I had but couldn't find. :-(
But I put in a lot of extras so hopefully it'll make up for it. :-)
As soon as my DH gets home from work I'm taking my over-stuffed envelope to the postoffice.
I'll post back here when I get back and it's officially on it's way to you.

Thank you so much for doing this.
This has been so much fun and I can't wait to see all the goodies I get.
I will think of all of you next year when I'm enjoying all my new flowers.

Joy

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

My tubby envelope is on its way:) This has been "action packed" I've got to remember to pick up some soil at work so I can try to get my WS containers set up. I've been so disappointed trying to start in flats and such in the spring that the whole WS/sturdier/surviving plant thing is very exciting! Oh, gotta get some duct tape too:)

oh and every one..................if i missed something that i told you i would send please lmk when you get your stuff so i can make it up to you. i tried to keep minute by minute records but you know how wild it got there a few times.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks to all of you as well for participating in this trade! Connie - YOU rock! Thanks for all your time and effort! I hope it doesn't get too overwhelming going through all the seeds and matching them up to wants. You were smart to have everyone put names of those the extras were going to on the seed bags. I don't know how you do it! ;-)

My screen name is on the back of the label in all the seed bags I sent. If anyone has any questions about the seeds/plants just dmail me. I'll be more than glad to dmail info and even a photo (if I took one) of the parent plant.

This has been a lot of fun! My first group trade! Y'all are great!!!!
THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

Same here, If I missed anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. Won't be a problem at all, I'll be pleased to send it to you. There WAS so much going on and sometimes it was hard to keep up. LOL

Joy

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

Oh no, it looks like I am going to bringing up the rear.(what else is new?) I've got most everything ready except for folks # . I think I might have run out of white towers. I might have some left from last year. Would that work? If I forget anything, I'll be glad to send it later. I am baking for a lunch at work and just now doing dinner so I don't think it is in the cards for tonight.

I ran my legs off at work today, someone even commented I needed roller skates but of course then I would kill myself. LOL, anyhoo, I am pooped!!

Sorry guys, I will try my best to get it ready to mail tomorrow night.

Brenda

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Brenda lol, I use to be a skater, I'll lend you my skates :o)

Remember everybody Friday the 15 is the dead line on mailing out the packages...

Oh my oh my even typing that gave me the shutters, where oh where has the days gone... just 13 more days to christmas... oh my and I still haven't done any decorating or anything.

I talked to my dad a couple days ago and he is giving me the tree my mom used b4 I bought her that fiberoptic one. if memory serves me right its 4 foot, so that will do. I still have to go over there and get it.

I am going to be working on my house tomorrow, I have got to get my livingroom carpet cleaned. So if you all don't here from me tomorrow or thursday (going to dads house) you know what I will be doing.... When I start on this livingroom I have to take the pc apart to move it... Will try really hard to be here for a few minutes each day, but not promising :o)

I think you all can hold the fort down with out me for a day or two rofl... :o)

Connie

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

It's in the mail. I hope it will get there by Friday.

Joy

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello Everyone,
I hope all had a great day today! Mine was busy at work and that is how I like it... Also gets me out of the house for it is driving me nuts ....
Ok I know the seeds have been shipped but you know there is something I wanted and if someone has or wants shipping money I would more then be happy to do so.... Vinca's I love those things and today went out to the place where the garden was and I remembered that those are what I wanted to put down on the list... I am really brain dead.... Like I said I am not asking for free but even I really cant find them around.. Sooooo Thanks :-)
Hugs,
Susan

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

susan, next spring i can prob. dig you all the vinca you want. i don't have a clue if it's major or minor but i know where a bunch is unless they bulldoze the place before then.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Well got half the livingroom carpet cleaned, waiting for it to dry then I can do the other side.

I received 3 envelopes today, got them marked on the first post... Pam, Melissa and Nancy...

The others that mailed yesterday will probably be here tomorrow... So will try to post there arrivals, if not I will on Friday or Sat...

You all have a great night ? day..

Connie

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Nancy, Thanks for the gift, I have it on my fridge with the rest of my magnets, I was almost out of the shopping list paper on the one I already had, Boy that really came in handy ;-}

Thanks again,

Connie

Pam, you were right, they are as big as a walnut... When I plant them to I put them in the fridge or out side???

Thanks so much,

Connie

hi connie...good one...i planted mine out... i will research that some more because we have different climates but the original parent seed came from virginia or maryland..
pamsue

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Pam

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Connie, I'm not even going to try to get to the post office tomorrow. Make it Friday. Nothing goes out from my little post office unless you get it there by around 1 pm and I know I'm not going to have everything ready by then. I spent all day today gathering the rest of the seeds and finding germination info and printing around 50 seed packets.

I know if I try to rush to get them done by early afternoon tomorrow I'll end up packing sunflower seeds in a calendula packet or somesuch. Because I have this fried old brain. :>P

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

were we supposed to send germination instructions? all i sent were seed packs with the name of the seeds on the pack. i feel anguish. hart, as far as any seeds you are sending me i will look up my own sowing instructions. and i apologize to everyone if i missed this. barb

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL Hart, You printed packets, oh my, you didn't have to go to all that trouble... Well you are a dear :o)

I got half my livingroom carpet cleaned and tomorrow I have to wash that side of the rooms walls, while I have the furniture out of the way, then put every thing on that side and then clean the other half... Then I have to go over to my dads and get the tree he is giving me to put up...

I hate living in a small house... If I ever move from here the next one will have LARGE rooms lol
I really hate being crowded. :o)

Then Friday I will have to do the dining room carpet :( oh this should have all been done months ago rofl... Oh well its getting done now...

I will probably wait until next Thursday (depending on when Ana's seeds get here) to get all the seed envelopes done and mailed out by next Saturday or Tuesday.. Oh its hard to believe Christmas is almost here...

Connie

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Not to worry Barb, if any one has questions they can either post here or dmail the person whos seeds they got :o)

I don't know info either as I am really new to this, but these books Ken (dh) bought me are a BIG help... I really like the one on Native Plants for Michigan :o) Has alot of info in it...

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Mamajack, no one is required to include germination info. I certainly don't mind looking it up for any seeds I receive. I include it because it does help to know, for example, that some seeds must be surface sown because they require light for germination or some must have a few weeks of cold so should be wintersown or kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

I'd just as soon print packets as print and tape names and info to ziploc bags.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Ok got my livingroom carpet cleaned, just waiting for the other half to dry...

It has taken me 2 hours to get this dang PC back up and running and most of that time was on the phone with my connection ppl :( grrrr

I really hate sbc.yahoo & (ATT)

but I am really limited on what I can get here...

I am have this house put back together by Wednesday (our christmas party) lol

Saturday I will be cleaning the dining room carpet. Man I can't wait til dh puts in a regular floor in there.. Won't ever have carpet in there or the kitchen again...

Hope you all are doing ok... Got to get back to work and get this mess organized..

Connie

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Mama,
Thank you so much for the offer, and I will take you up on that if you still dont mind come spring.... I have a little bunch and I dont know where to find seeds on these do you? All I know is the the Japanese Beetles dont eat them... They are just so pretty also..... Thank for any help and also the offer of them :-)
Hugs,
Susan

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Susan, someone is offering vinca plants in the plant swap forum.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

sure thing on the vinca..........as long as it doesn't get bulldozed i am good to send you some. and hart............that post is weird.........it is from 2001. lol. i was all excited too so continued to read and some observant person checked the date and sure enough the origianal post was a long time ago.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Hart,
I cant sleep grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I really dont have much to swap but will check it out.... Does anyone know where the seeds are on this plant?
Huggers,
Susan

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Hiya Hart,
They want plants in return and I dont have that... I am going to one last look to see if I cant get them from an web garden shop....
Thanks for the heads up Hart :-)
Hugs,
Susan

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

susan................check the date on that vinca post..............it is from 2001! and no i don't know where the seeds are. susan can you put plants in now?

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

Well, the slowpokey got hers at the post office today. Sorry I just had too much going on at home and at work. I am stressed to the max!

Mamajack, I could not find the kalimeris but knowing my luck it will turn up this weekend. If and when it does, I will send some your way.

Same thing if I forgot anything else.

Brenda

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Sorry about that. I didn't notice the date and the person who bumped it apparently didn't either. LOL

Susan, you'll be much better off buying vinca in the spring when you can plant it outside. And you certainly won't have trouble finding it, everybody and their brother sells vinca. Do you have a WalMart, KMart, Lowes or Home Depot near you? I'm sure any of them will carry it.

And if Mamajack says she can get you some, she means it. She may be covered with cat and dog hair (aren't we all??) but she's a gem. LOL

Mamajack, we've been having really warm weather the last few days so she probably could plant something as tough as vinca now. It's supposed to turn colder by next Wednesday - daytime temps in the 40s. Maybe it's even warmer where Susan is, she's way down by the NC border.

I'll be taking my fat package up to the post office in a few minutes. Gosh, it's so pretty, I hate to mail it. Just kidding :>)

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Okay, package is mailed.

Note for those who requested mock orange seeds. When I cracked the seed pods, didn't seem to be much of anything in there. I scoured the internet to find a picture of mock orange seeds and apparently the little things that look like eensy weensy dried willow leaves are the seeds. They are verrrrry tiny.

There's a certain amount of bits of chaff in there and in some of the other seeds because I'll be darned if I know how to get all of it out when dealing with little bitty seeds and crushed seed pods.

Connie, I didn't even try to separate the obedient plant seeds from the little seed caps but they're in there. I'd just plant the whole thing. Everything else is separated.

Connie, I sent you a note about the extra postage. I sent a $1 stamp extra plus a sheet of older stamps I found that probably has close to $5-$6 in 34 cent stamps. Ther are also four or five packets of extra seeds beyond the seeds for the regular swap and the requested extras.

I hope everyone enjoys their seeds. I know I'm just thrilled at all the nice seeds I'll be getting. This has been so much fun.

And Connie, I can't thank you enough for organizing this swap. I know it's going to be a lot of work for you. You're such a sweetie pie.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Okay, We are getting there rofl

Just to let you all know, Ana will be mailing hers out either tomorrow or Monday. Something come up that couldn't be avoided... She was gonna drop out but I told her either one of those days would be fine....

I should have everybody's but hers by the time the Church Christmas Party is over with... 12-20-06

I will then begin sorting thru all the envelopes... I have an extra envelope here I will put Ana's in... Once I receive her envie, that should be the only one left to do... Then they will be on there way...

Hopefully I will get all these in the mail the First week in the NEW YEAR ewwww still get shivers thinking 2007 is upon us ALREADY... You each should get your seeds in time for winter sowing :o) I hope this alright with you ALL, I just hated the thought of someone else would have to drop out over a day or two mailing their seeds!

Well dh surprised me again today... Next thursday I will be getting new internet service / phone co (unlimited long distance in us and canada) and cable all in one :o) I am sooo glad to finally be able to watch some real TV lol... Been with out for so long don't know if all my Favorite shows are still on lol... So that means a new email addy to. I am tickled to death... tickled pink, which ever rofl... I think Ken is really getting bored too only being able to get 4 channels rofl...

Got all three in one package for only $99.97 a month and whats cool with the phone, no more unavailable calls, Love it...

Connie

moretz

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm wondering if I'll even get to attempt the winter sowing...our weather here is ridiculous:) It's been about 60 for the past week. We had a really cold snap for a few days where it got down to about 19 at night but since then it has been like spring. I work at a WalMart and you can hardly move any of the cold weather stuff. I have people in looking for summer yard games and baseball equipment. Crazy:LOL:

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Melisa I am sure there is enough postage, so not to worry :o)

Well I am off for the night I am really beat and all I have gotten done to day is running to dads and visiting with him for a while and then came home and Ken and I went and got grochries... Why is it you can do all that running and it will just wear you done so much faster than cleaning your whole house... lol

I have christmas cards I have to mail out to my neices and nephews. I hope they get them b4 christmas lol, I am sooo far behind...

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Oh, I forgot to add this - I put in the seed heads, which are kind of fluffy, and fluff for the mistflower. I can't imagine how to separate the seeds from the fluff.

I hope I don't have everyone figuring they're going to get packets full of chaff. I really did all I could to clean the seeds from the seed heads and chaff.

Can you tell I'm a worrywart? LOL

oh dont worry...we will plant them chaff and all... ive done this before :) some seeds are impossible to clean...

pamsue

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

connie, in your SPARE time let us know if you got our mailers. lol.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Sorry mama, should have stated earlier, I received two more envelopes today. Keep an eye on the very first post of this thread, I mark it received when they arrive :o) Hopefully yours will come tomorro ;o)

Well I am off to bed, I am whipped :o)

Connie
