Here's My Christmas Tree

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Tabasco, I made them already, yummy. Perfect to dip in the chocolate fondue we serve with lots of fresh fruit. The recipe is in the forum called "Recipes" in the home talk section "Too late for the cookie contest, BUT.. " Luna_baby. Make sure you read down to the second part about chilling the dough. The first batch I made a little too small (dainty) so I made the rest of the balls about an 1" . I used my sillpat so no sticking. Patti

These are all great. Not an unattractive one in the bunch.

Some people on another forum liked this.

Kelli - I like it too. Is that a specially forged "tree" you have hanging from the hook?

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

I like it!

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

really neat looking Kelli!

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

It is a metal tree-shaped thing called an "ornament tree" (but all Christmas trees are ornament trees). It can hang or it can stand. I've got other things on my tables so this year it hangs.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

That's unique. Did you happen to get it anywhere we can check out online? Debra

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

I think I got it from Gardener's Supply, but that was a few years ago.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

That's a good thing. I don't need to be cruis'in the net trying to spend $$$ anyway!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Very nice all! Love the hanging ornament tree, and the balsam is beautiful. As I've said before, I love seeing everyone's trees!

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

I finally got a pic of my tree - I never did finish putting all the decorations on (especially the red bows - I have at least 75 more of them, but will probably just not worry about it . . . breathe, breathe, breathe!).

The black cat in front of the tree is the same itty bitty kitten who perched in the tree all last Christmas. She's been a good girl! So far.

edited to correct a typo.

Oooo! Someone has been a good boy or girl! :-)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Murmur - here's hoping kitty remains a good girl. I love all the red bows.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Murmur, that's a beautiful tree. How tall is it? Hate to tell you, but itty bitty kitty looks as though she's devising a plan.....

Debra

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

LOL, Fleurs, you truly made me laugh!!! Yes, Friday could indeed be devising a plan - she really is a mischevious little bugger. It's a good thing her own kitty tree isn't closer - she'd be jumping, I am sure. She does jump up onto the second level window sills . . . fortunately, she hasn't decided to make her way over to the tree. Oh, dear. I hope she doesn't read this.

The tree is 7.5 feet tall, but on a little table that is probably 14 " high. Neither DH nor I ever thought we would want an artificial tree, but it looks so real, is certainly safer, and is a lot less trouble for DH himself. And he's not getting any younger. I, on the other hand, get younger every day. Isn't that just amazing?

San Tan Valley, AZ(Zone 9b)

WOW...That's what I call a decorated tree! Very impressive.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

One thing nice about trees, each & everyone is unique & beautiful in it's own way.
I especially like the different ornaments people have amassed over the years.

Anyone that hasn't posted your tree yet, now would be a good time!
Merry Christmas!

okay here is my tree. I also have 3 cats and a toddler so all of the ornaments are non breakable- we have one silver ornament for each year my husband has ben alive and one for each (okay so thats only one) my daughter has been with us, cloth and beaded balls, metal jingle bells, wooden garlands, quilted ornaments my DH grandmother made when he was a toddler and wooden cats and reindeer, and one each year collectibles from the National Law Enforcement Officers Museum in DC (these are also metal) It is not a real tree either but this is FLorida, so unless you want ot go outside and cut down a palm...It is hard to see the silver ornaments but I assure you at night they just sparkle with the lights...It seems very plain next to some of your beautiful trees, but I figured I would add it anyway.

Not plain at all.
The Sentiment involved complete w/ a Story make it ALL the more Beautiful!

Like I said all trees a pretty.
Not real trees are becoming more popular all the time. Now you can buy them prelite.
Every year someone around here losses their house to fire started by a real tree. Not good.
I like your tree & all the meaningful ornaments.

Here is a not so good picture of my tree this year. It was really nice before the lights at the top burned out AFTER it was decorated of course. Too hard to fix it now. Oh well,

It has sooooo many ornaments it must weigh a ton. Thank goodness my kitties don't bother it. I don't put any ornaments at the bottom either. Too much for them to resist. LOL

I agree everyone else that all these trees are beautiful and should not be judged by the trees of others. I think that it is a wonderful gesture that all of you are willing to share your holidays with the rest of us.

Balotesti, Romania(Zone 5a)

Dann, your tree is great with all those lights ! How many hours did it take you to decorate it ?

Murmur, what a cute little face !

This is a tree we had a couple of years ago, with our dog Boss "dressed up" like a Santa !

have to agree all the trees are wonderful and all decorated with love and memories that will continue forever on!!

Murmur that is amazing that you keep getting younger simply a wonderful gift you have been given. In my heart and mind I too contiue to get younger !!!! I truly think the keeping ones sense of humor and the ability to still giggle like a kid keeps us all young!!! and pssst I have to agree-- itty bitty kitty has got a plan!

Boss always good to see you handsome dude even if you are covering up your cool EARS!!!

Susan I love your tree!!!

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

I haven't seen a "plain" tree yet, and am so enjoying seeing all the variety - what a treat!!!! And the stories are the best gift of all.

BTW, the vast majority of my ornaments are non-breakable - the ones that aren't (or at least the ones that very old and have great sentimental value) are safely put away in boxes for another time . . . not sure when that will be as I will always have pets . . . and anyway I would need at least one more tree . . .

San Tan Valley, AZ(Zone 9b)

Hi Adina,

It didn't take to long. I spent about an hour doing the lights and think my wife and grand-daughter probably spent a couple of hours putting the ornaments on the tree.

Susan... tree is gorgeous...I'd also love to see the mantle (?) behind with all of the decorations lit up. Pretty please?

Your wish Brenda and all that.....LOL

I tried not using a flash but you don't really see it, and then with a flash you don't see the pretty lighted effect...oh well...

Thank you for the mantle shots... very beautiful! We have a wood cut clock like that as well at our place in Colorado... love it! By the way, I also have a bunch of beautiful red satin wired bows that I used to use until we changed color schemes... very similar to each of yours! Saving them for sometime...
