McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Nice trees everyone. :)

Here's our main tree. It's in the living room downstairs and has a red green and gold theme. I still have not had a chance to go get a replacement bulb for the star on top, but this is pretty much it.

And here's the Blue & Silver tree up in the Gameroom. It's artificial and the one downstairs is real. I just can't bring myself to part give up having a real tree.

This one is my DD's tree. We helped each other out but she decorated most of this one, whereas I decorated most of the one downstairs.

OK, Tree is finally up and decorated :) Kidlet did most of it. DH sat and encouraged us.. Really he drags the tree down from the attic and sets it up so he is allowed a rest

And last but not least here are my Island of Misfit Toys critters.. Kidlet set them all up on the TV cabinet to keep them out of Syd's reach (A long and tragic tale) I may move them but for now they are cheerful

This was a harder pcture to take than I thought.

We have a Concolor - which is an uncommon variety for a tree here. The kids pretty much decorate it with handmade and gift ornaments.

I've been collecting stained glass pieces all year long. Have had them in my windows. Recently, in my galivanting, I found about a dosen more. Decided then to put them on my Christmas tree this year.

Janet...I want to say I saw a booth at the mall that had some great stained glass hanging ornaments. I can't remember for sure but 90% positive. I think it was in the stretch heading towards JC Penny's from the main entrance.

Beaumont, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks for the info. I haven't been to the mall in years and sure won't go there at this time of year. {shuddering at the thought of all of those people hustling and bustling} Most of these pieces were a quarter or less, and I doubt that I'd find such a great deal at the mall. :-)

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

lol nope, we went Saturday to try and find something for IO1 at Penny's and it was packed. I have a door that was painted like stained glass that when we replace it would you be intrested in it?

Oh how I wish I could type out that noise that Tim Allen used to make on Home Improvement when something would catch his attention. Can you Dmail me a photo of it. We are going to be doing some remodeling soon.

My apologies for the hijack.... And now.... back to Christmas Decorations!

Deck the Halls!

You could post a picture of the box.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

CG,

LOL! I'd have to go up to the attic to even do that. DH won't bring it down. It's 12 ft. tall! Well, if I begged enough he would, but I can't even find the enthusiasm to tackle that monster again. What was I thinking????

here's my antique ornament tree.

It's beautiful, daylily. I can't use such elegant glass ornaments on my tree because of the cats, but that doesn't mean I can't admire them on other trees. :-)

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

daylily970 you have just brought back so very many memories. I can look at your tree and see some that look if not exactly alike then very close to one my grandmother and my mother had when I was growing up. I loved those ornaments. Its a beautiful tree.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

thanks!

jdee ~ i have 5 cats, they don't bother the trees. the cats are used to my crazy christmas decorating.

dravencat ~ the antique ornaments are the ones that my parents used. it's my favorite tree.

They're both beautiful, daylily. I've always wanted to collect enough antique/vintage ornaments to decorate a whole tree but never got very far. You've really inspired me to do that again. Has anyone ever seen old tree toppers displayed in a group? I'm talking about the tall skinny glass ones - can't think of what they are called. There was a photo in a magazine of them displayed on a mantle and they were so pretty.

Debra

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh daylily970...that gingerbread tree is darling! All the trees on here are wonderful!!!! Keep on showing them!!

daylily... both Beautiful! I love the antique ornaments too... especially the birds. You've inspired me as well... I going to have to start collecting those. My Mom & Dad still use all the old blown glass ornaments. Also love the gingerbread tree!
